Alex Stenberg 1983- (about) 1999 (maybe earlier) lars was actually good at drumming, this is a fact, he was never taught or anything, but like whatever he had da energy and for metallica then he used to be great
Bill Batenborough Back in 1983 there was not many drummers to compare with and I guess he sounded like a great drummer. But listen to the bassdrum after 2.50 in this video. I´ve always compared Lars with a drummer from my hometown. Local band 1988 /watch?v=vqAgABfzZg4 Local band 1995 /watch?v=O8n925mvHEI
Metallica back in 1984 said in a interview that the crowds were lame up in NJ compared to the west coast crowds,so when they wen't to play this concert the fans had heard about what Metallica had said and that's why they reacted the way you see in the video above.James talked about it in a interview many years ago.
I just love it between 1:17 and 1:20. Kirk casually runs up the stairs and steps over that pink cloth all while playing this song lightning speed and without missing a beat.
man, kirk has gotta be one of the most polished/accurate live guitar soloists ever. His live play is so close to his recorded it's ridiculous. He still lays in a little improv for fun but he is pinpoint man.
can u imagine going to festival thinking metal vas Scorpions and Van Halen and the being blown away by this fucking thunder chugging riffs of monster speed, that happened the first time i heard one of their song at the end of 80s, which was Fight Fire With Fire, on the radio , among Bon Jovi and stuff like that. what a shocking experience it was.
TheRamsesII Cause i can't stand little fucks saying metallica isn't metallica anymore because they aren't 25 anymore. Do you even understand that they are 50+?
Did James missed the last and 3rd verse? It's supposed to be... Circle of destruction, hammer comes crushing, power house of energy. Whipping out the fury, dominating flurry, we create the battery... But still, it's a great perfomance... Hail Metallica...
I was there, 15 years old, temperature of 90 with NJ summer humidity. They opened with Harvester of SorrowI believe. Monsters of Rock Van Halen, Scorpions, Dokken, Metallica, Kingdom Come. 💥
+Zerexy why is seattle always considered the best just because it was the pro-shot and audio mixed and officially released one? Seriously, Toronto 1986, and Milan 1987 blow Seattle 1989 out of the water. Honestly, Hetfield's voice was rather weak in Seattle, going by his own standards and what we know he was capable of. His voice was cool still but he just sang everything and only screamed certain parts to accent the part, for effect. His voice didn't have the energy or aggression, or attitude throughout that it had in 1988, 87, 86. Sounded like he was tired, or like his voice was on the teetering point of leaving him and turning into what it turned into in the early 90s. Toronto 86, and here, he pretty much screamed everything, and even the parts he didn't scream sounded aggressive as hell because of the energy he had behind it. A lot of those fan recorded bootleg shows from pre-1989 are way better and much more raw and energetic and attitude driven than Seattle 1989.
I was there, on the field at giants stadium. van halen monsters of rock tour. they were the second act. they followed kingdom come and where followed by dokken, scorpions and finally van halen
Well i agree with konstantino. Metallica was above everyone, even god in 81-89. After and justice for all, things started to go wrong direction. Black album was good, but where are tracks like eye of beholder, frayed ends of sanity, blackened and puppets etc etc... After justice, metallica kinda "grow up". That's ok too and WE understand it, but i like first 4 albums the best and i think many metal fan agree with me. They just do what they want. Don't care what media says and other people think.
Damn! James was possessed! AND I LIKE IT!!!! BAtteryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.
Love the raw energy on this one, LOL a but they played so sloppy. James forgetting lyrics and timing issues. Looks like absolute insanity. Ha ha, good times. Thanks upper!
yeeah dude, we miss his double bass... and when you watch that download festival of 2004 that joey jordison played with them you see that lars stopped practing
In the beginning I was like, What? Damage Inc.?
Trollica- Trolling 'em all you know? xD
GT8686 oh that album, still don't have that one
Thank you, good night!
Me too!
Battery Inc.
2:01 Kirk noticed camera and gave it thumbs up.
his Philippine blood kicks in
His face alone screams cool guy, let alone his playing. Probably my favourite guitarist.
😂
He's so kind lol
1:02 "Thanks Dick"
Man Lars was a beast behind the kit back in the day.
I totally agree! (I hope you´re being sarcastic)
2.05 for example is such an easy thing to do but Lars fails.
But I like Metallica anyway!
Alex Stenberg 1983- (about) 1999 (maybe earlier) lars was actually good at drumming, this is a fact, he was never taught or anything, but like whatever he had da energy and for metallica then he used to be great

1:04 "thanks dick" lolol
His voice changed so much between here and Seattle 89.
1988 was bridge .
More mature but still very agressive raw high range of first 3 albums
The bridge is noticeable in Garage days and Justice .

Trump played Metallica in White House.
@@Nissardpertugiu it changed a lot in a year because of booze and a high pressure on his voice which later destroyed his voice during Black Album tour
@@ogorkiszony_ No , most baritones have that change around 25-30
@@Nissardpertugiu but is the change so big?
2:53 Jason, you look awesome, but calm down, you'll get hurt.

Maybe it’s just because Jason is my hero but man he was the heart and soul of Metallica after Cliff.
Dat energy
public service message: please throw all your garbage onstage instead of littering. Metallica and the environment thanks you.

A shirtless James, as we would say he know he able, this man never cease to amaze me, love you James
that first scream from james, spine chilling!
Jason was the best headbanger in Metallica... I mean after cliff :D
He's paying for it now. Worth it!
Yes he was!!
3:30 brutal fucking growl. Legend says you can still here it today... 🔥🤘🏻

YES, exactly! Look at Tom Araya from Slayer.. He's 50 or something.

No, it's bob rock.. lol
Greatest band ever.
Does anyone else think that if this had good audio it would be wayyyy better than seattle 1989?
+Dan 2c plus No, because although the footage is classic, it doesn't compare to seattle. and it's a short setlist.
no seattle will always be the best
whole damaged justice tour was just like seattle smh

BEST INTRO OF EVER
classic Metallica! crushing all deceivers, mashing non believers, never ending potency!🤘🤘🤘
It's a shame that I never got to see a concert at the original Giants Stadium.
This is one of the problems I have with metallica. They lost this energy, they were a machine. Slayer in the other hand kept it until the last day.
when metallica wanted to eat the world greetings from monterrey mexico !!!!!!!!!!!
Intro Damage Inc + Battery .. Awsome !
