Give me Humphries v Chizzy in any major final and I’m confident they can produce this level. Unreal stuff from two of the top players on the Euro tour this year. Credit to Luke Humphries I mean the guy woke up with a back spasm and could have pulled out but he pushed himself and I’m so glad he didn’t pull out because he produced magic today. Starting the semis and the final with the big fish, the one in the final probably the most aesthetic 170 ever hit. The standard was so good in the final and just as the commentators were talking about the 9 darter, which Chizzy narrowly missed in the semi final, Cool Hand actually hit it in the final. I was cheering so much at that point and I thought wow this can’t get any better probably with the exception of a deciding leg and it did get to that and even then it was stunning with Chizzy on D12 and Luke missing the same target on the back end of a 141 checkout (again). I mean it was just scintillating stuff and I couldn’t have asked for a better final, it had everything u would want from a darts match. Congrats Chizzy on an amazing tournament and brilliant performance in the final. After going 7-5 down with Luke having just hit the 9, u would think it’s not his day but he won 3 legs in a row to take the title and seems to be Luke’s kryptonite in these finals. That being said, these two r surely future major champions with the way they play particularly Humphries coz hes still young. What a tournament with the most amazing final to cap it off, a true treat to the fans who were also brilliant and very respectful towards all the players. An amazing darting weekend in Budapest, with Chizzy on top of the rest in a final that was surely one of the best.
