I was just sitting here racking my mind over how I was going to lay my last row against the wall under the trim on a doorway. I've spent about an hour trying to get just this one piece set. I never thought to trim the locking mechanism and glue. Thank you so much! God bless.

You have NO idea how much time you have saved me, and how many gray hairs you have prevented me from having. I am starting a project in a friend's kitchen and her refrigerator is in an alcove or lack of a better way of describing it. To make a long story not so long, I was having nightmares trying to figure out how to install her AquaGuard flooring in that alcove because of the refrigerator cherry wood end panel on either side attached to the cabinets above. Thank you SO MUCH!! Keep up the amazing videos and workmanship! The Pride and attention shows.

I tell all my apprentices they will give me $50.00 a week for the easter eggs and easy outs for the duration of the job. I’m fascinated with your videos & tips! I’ve been installing fitted kitchens for over 20 years & occasionally get asked to install laminate while I’m there. The tips & tricks I’ve picked up from you since watching these videos over the ‘lockdown period’ have amazed me. I’ll certainly be using all of them from now on....no doubt saving me plenty of valuable time.

I just spent 2 HOURS using a chisel and dremel to surgically removed door trim for the laminate to go in (the 30degree angle wasn't possible!)
And then when I realized I had to do this again 2 rows later...
Well - thank goodness I found your video just now!

I have messed up so many pieces of laminate trying to figure this out. I suck at measuring and marking properly. I could not figure out how to get it under my closet door jam.
Last room I cut so much off the molding wouldn’t cover my mistakes. Now I’m going to go back and fix the other room when I’m finished this one. Thank you so much. You’re a time and money saver. And a whole lotta cursing next time I do a laminate floor and I have 7 more rooms to do😀

I watched this guy's videos a couple of times on my no-transition laminate install. I went and got that exact little plane from Menards after I tried using a blade on a few boards and almost got a blister from how much pressure I was exerting. The plane makes a huge difference. I also used small nails on my first row to keep it in place to avoid adding quarter round (drill small hole first). The cheater board helps with the first and final rows. Great tutorials and lots of helpful tips.

Very good video. I am a flooring installer of 30+ years and am always researching on the internet. I ran across your video and found it to be very well made and simple to follow the instructions. I use this technique often and it is not a well known technique. It really goes back to the old installation method, when laminate first came out. There are very few installers out there with this knowledge.

So thank you very much for this lesson. I am installing a laminate floor in the majority of my home to get it ready to sell. I was falling into the problem to where I could not get the floor into some tight areas due to the way you have to install laminate. the whole angle into the lip and snaps down thing. So unlike installing a wood flooring, it is much harder to get around stuff. So to get around this I pretty much took out the door molding and jams for both the broom closet and pantry in the kitchen area. This morning while I was looking at another area that I will have to do; which is the door area going from the kitchen to the living room; I was thinking I really do not want to take this apart and started looking on youtube for another solution, and found it, thanks to your channel. Thank you very much; lucky for me I would have to take off the molding and replace it anyway in those areas due to the molding now being too high and leaving a pretty big gap so the work that had to be done anyway.

Best flooring video I've seen. I had come up with the glue thing myself but I was not sure it was the way to go.
By the way don't use the thicker construction glue, you will never get the boards close together. I've heard...
And this thing about laying a board on top to scribe with it only works with parallel or thereabout lines.
Not say a doorway in an angled wall. It would have saved me a lot of tinkering If id seen this video before I started!

Yes! Roger that! I am only a couple minutes into this video and so excited. Finally someone who gets straight to the point instead of spending 2 minutes telling me what you are gonna tell me, and I what feels like 2 minutes ahead of that with a C- quality "branding" intro. You rock! High value in a time when real mentors have all but died off the planet.
