- A couple of people asked how I created the armor seen on the M1A2 in a video I made 2 months from this current video - (sprocket "COMPOSITE ARMOR" creation) , so I went out of my way to record the process behind creating such armor.
Feel free to copy.
spaced armor? composite armor? angled plating within plating? what could it be?😫
Are there contact options of you? I'd like to ask some quick questions to gather info about your preliminary tests of this armour, as I have some thing I'd like to know before I do testing, as someone who already was making this type of armour before it is a long proces.
Seing you had your ecperiments done, I'd like to skip a part and ask you for info, so if it's not an issue, is perhaps discord contact availabe?
I'm pretty late to the party but I'll point out to anyone curious: The way this armor works is by having many angled plates stacked vertically. There is no composite effect, no spaced armor, nothing of the sort. As such, if you wish to replicate this in an easier manner, you can build the comb shape normally and then delete all faces except the "top" of the comb's teeth. Those plates should have a 75-80º angle for optimal effectiveness, but depending on the space available outwards you can make this armor shorter yet less effective by using a steeper angle. The only requirement for this armor to function properly is for the plates to be angled in such a way that a shell can't pass in between the plates and hit the unarmored bits behind it.
Also the optimal arrangement for the armor would have the top of the armor sticking out more than the bottom if the plates are angled downward, though I presume given how this game handles ricochets that you could angle the armor upwards to have the optimal arrangement have the bottom plates sticking outward.
didnt understand after manner
Nice tutorial! I will definitely be incorporating this into my modern MBT design. I was already trying to use the blender exporter plugin to make NERA blocks but it wasn't working out too well. This method seems both easier to make and more effective! Thanks!
i tried to did the same but with aplique armor, wasnt the best and it took too long to make. this method is clearly better
Applique armor is legit Composite armor , what he did was from what i could see ,
make a External Piece of armor into the main armor ,
your choice on wich is better but i rather spend time using applique armor .
Applique is basically in the game with the riveted panels and spare wheels/tracks anyway. U just cant edit the thickness of them. Gotta remember this was always supposed to be a WW1-WW2 game
in the newest experimental version APHE can easily defeat this type of armor, as the shell explodes after penetrating the first layer and kills the tank, even if the armor module (turret part) doesn't contain any crew
true i think actually making it just this wedges and then instead of the front side using a plate is superior
thanks for the guide, i'll have a lot of fun with this 😄
This is what I'm looking for. Maybe I'll try with this armor on my PT-23 Wilk (Project of my Polish MBT)
PGZ really gotta advertise itself better, a lot of us yound designers would help push the Borsuk out lmao
Technically spaced armor but very nice anyways
Can you export the files?
I really like these designs, revolutionary!
pretty neat
Yoooo thank you, this is sick
very impressive
I enjoy it.
if i build a new turret and connect that to the groud i can built. But if i increase the height from the objective to built something, the game tells me its not connect
You've earn yourself a sub from me.
What key is it to extend the plates out like that to actually make the armor?
Dont work after filling on 2:10.
How fix it?
How did you make that barrel tip?
I dont know, that seems very laborious, i think i will just make some spaced armor, basically just multiplicating the existent plate and make it more times as thick and at the same angle, sure like that i can easily get up to 600mm of armor at flat angle in a much simpler way
It looks really cool, but its illogic. Spaced Armor plates make much more sense as NERA component.
am i just stupid or its max protecion in around 200mm with huge jumpms to 15 mm
yes, it is. but the the armor plates are angled in a way so that the projectile destroys itself or ricochet on the 200mm part before hitting the 15mm part. The front end is inverted so the bullet simply ignores it.
Someone tell hamish to just scrap Oscillating turret plan and tell him to add shell designer and wheels pls. We already did it as a colective and his job is to integrate our design as an add on turret!
r.i.p microsoft video editor
how to make the composite armor rotate with turret? my turret rotating through the composite armor
you have to attach the armor to the turret, place it on an even surface and rotate it to the position you want
Can u upload ur Abrams?
100th sub
FBI wants to know your location
im sad that this "Composite" armor isnt really Composite armor .
also using hulls makes the tank more heavier than using External Peives like Tracks , Armored Plates , Spaced armor , and ERA , all wich can be combined to grant you 600 MM of effective armor done right at VERY VERY certain portions ,
Such as Extreme Hull angle paired with Composite armor .
Dont use ERA they pose a hazard like block your sight .
I know it’s not composite armor, it’s more of a spaced armor/composite armor hybrid, kind a like the ones on within the side turret armor of the Abrams. Also just letting you know that while it is heavier, it Still has adjustable armor levels, and if angled just right, armor levels can be raised to around 6000mm or above, but I keep it low at around 700mm for realism’s sake, if you’ve seen the previous video of this build you would know.
@@petty805 yeah , but it sometimes makes me cry since its overall better when you want real "composite" armor , im currently trying to make a hybrid of the two techniques using a tank i made with Composite armor .
@@aaroncaloza5233 this game only support WW1 and WW2 technology bruh don't expect much
@@petty805 This isn't spaced nor composite. It's just angled plates stacked vertically. (No offense of course, just pointing this out because the video confused the heck out of me at first.)
the armor value doesnt change at all
BRO I am literally horny on 2024-2025 bcs of shell editor and infantry, Plane AI and more... But rn I use extrenal fuel tanks in armour plates.
If you could make a detailed tutorial, that would be great
