Congrats! You work hard for that deer! Well deserved! This is how hunting should really be not like on most hunting shows that make it look so easy. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for a video that brings us along for the hunt. You did all the hard work while we peeped over your shoulder. True Benoit style hunting with patience, perseverance and skill, with our eyes 8 inches from yours was a great treat!
I love your videos. Hunting, I can only sit for so long. My dad says I’m always “runnin and gunnin” my way through the woods. Tracking is fun and very rewarding. Thanks for posting.
Great hunt and harvest! Really like the tracking videos. I’m mostly a stand hunter but watching these type of videos really help me understand the beauty of tracking.
I tracked for the first time this year (originally from Florida) First day bumped a dandy at 15 years I grunt called in. He took off and I tracked him for a couple hours but lost him. Great day in the woods - best way to hunt. Thanks for sharing!
Everyone complaining about him not wearing Hunter orange needs to look at NH law's. It's not required. When you hunt areas where there isn't a road for 10+ miles you really don't need to be overly concerned with other hunters. Like he says it's smart to toss orange on when dragging though.
Why are people hammering on him for this. It's his choice. Obviously the way he hunts works and I would be willing to bet he has better success tracking then the ones complaining. Tracking is not as easy as UA-cam makes it look. Not to mention getting it on film.
Mark Masterson thanks for answering my question about hunter orange low hunter numbers an large tracts of land an a willingness to make the effort to get into the back country are the key . Less competition an no timber wolves!
I hunt NH and i just wear an orange hat , would prefer if everyone had a little something orange on but , your call. your hunting bucks you need to see horns so.....no excuse
dude - I loved this entire video. I edit photography for hours at a time every day, glad I found your channel. Love the commentary and over the shoulder view with camera. Great Video!! I had no luck this year, so I lived some excitement through you! Congrats.
Jeff Doyle we hunt in the Town of Ohio but unfortunately won’t be up at camp this weekend. There’s a lot of snow. About a foot in the Sauquoit area now. Maybe more up north. Love the .308 cartridge too!
Love the way you filmed this harvest. I'm steady looking over your shoulder waiting for a buck to pop out... and was surprised probably as much as you when the deer showed up behind you. Congratulations
Congrats Jeff! This is very well done and I love the camera angle you used to film this. Hope the rest of the BWB team does their filming like this but I know most of them don't carry a backpack. What a huge 4 pointer!
Huge congrats from NY Jeff, I hunt the ADK and Catskill Mountains and you couldnt of said it any better, Any bucks a trophy in the big woods. You captured this entire event so well, really enjoy your channel brotha!
Papa Romes Outdoor Productions thanks I like to say in the big woods it’s the size of the hunt. Hope to try the Catskills some day. Are there still antler restricted areas?
Jeff Doyle yes there are, we are seeing some bruiser bucks every year though check out my Instagram you can see some of the bucks taken last week in the Catskills we are doing well. Great woods to hunt steeper then my camp in the ADK but more open and more deer. We just don’t see the snow much anymore, I did get on some deer today though tracking so not bad above 2k ft. Your welcome to come down next season and collaborate if you’d like. I usually hunt with my family only or alone but have to admit I’m a huge fan of you and Hal the big woods team are all great guys so if your interested DM me on Instagram or FB we can talk
Jeff, Huge Congrats brotha, you slammed a big woods buck on its own grounds and was able to capture that on video. Really enjoy your videos and am really happy for you. Those woods look similar to the Catskills where I hunt a lot just we dont see the snow during rifle season too often. Congrats again!
hell I go a mile into my stand shoot a 10 plus drag him a mile out to truck, you can keep all that hiking lol, scouting and patterning and putting yourself in the right spot is hunting
Thanks Jeff always wondered about the hunter orange requirements! Here in the Midwest with large numbers of deer hunters it has improved hunter safety ! Here in Minnesota we went from red to hunter orange sometime ago.accidental gunshots an fatalities are way down. Enjoyed your video!!
Man I love your content. Great job there. Where I live (Oklahoma) we rarely ever have snow during our rifle season but if we do, I plan on trying your technique out. Thanks for the awesome video.
Great job Jeff and thanks for putting out these videos! Love the over the shoulder camera view as its about as close as you can get to being there with you. Learning a ton about tracking deer too, something I’ve only done a few times but never successful which alway led me to believe its near impossible to sneak up on them... Clearly not! If we get snow this year during NY, I’ll be putting this into practice after the opening day crowd has gone home. Keep em coming
I hunt the Adirondacks and love my Remington model 7 in .308. Even though it's a bolt just like you it can be ready quickly for another shot. It's compact size makes it handle nicely. Great video and hunt.
Jeff, I've been on the same trail and conditions many times while only closing the deal a small percentage of the time. NO EASY TASK! Then add video footage? Great job!
Congrats, Great video Jeff, doing it the hard way ( no better way especially when winter comes early to the big woods of NH) Old Larry would be proud. I love the over the shoulder view ,would be interested in how you have your cam mounted. Thanks Don.
I am just getting into hunting and I absolutely loved this video. I agree with many others that this is a lost art, but as men and women we should bring it back. I hope to have a successful hunt in New England just like yours later on this year Jeff. Ill be hunting in Zone 11 of MA and in south east and west new hampshire.
@@jeff_doyle Thanks Brother, I plan to try a few tree stands in my area (Zone 11) and see what happens. Maybe towards the end of the season I could take a trip to Nantucket to try my chances with tracking. Oh, please let me know if your willing to mentor or help a newbie out.
Awesome footage Jeff, man that third grunt was so audible! I can't imagine how gassed you big woods hunters are dragging those bucks back to the truck. I've used a heavy contractors bag with and cut a big enough hole in the bottom to get the head and antlers through it, then cinched it off which creates less friction on the snow makes the drag a lot easier.. Someone also makes a Deer Sleigh'r that is basically a rolled up piece of plastic that you strap the carcass in to.. We aren't in the big woods either ADK.'s or Catskills so we don't have the long drags here in Dairy farm country if CNY. You definitely have to be in shape to enjoy your type of hunting especially going back in the big woods Thanks for sharing!!
The antlers are only a small part of what you did! That was amazing, hell after the hard work you put in a spike would be a trophy!!! And alot easier drag lol, great job, CONGRATULATIONS!
Very nice video Jeff thanks for making it and taking us along sir. What kind of boots are you wearing? Im often left wishing my knee high rubber boots had better traction in snow conditions.
That was a great video. I'll be honest, I don't drag a deer out of the woods anymore. Just de-bone them right there. Even if I'm 100 yards from the truck. The woodland critters thank you for the scraps.
