Ok great video. I have a non related but serious series of questions but will only ask 2.
      1. Is your skeleton wearing an O’Riley jersey and
      2. Why doesn’t your skeleton have a twig?
It’s not right. You can’t deny your skeleton a stick in this life or in the next. You’re cold Doc… get the man his key weapon. Do you go to work without an iPad with the latest Mac-medical software? No. Get that skeleton his stick. Graphite will be fine. And put an AVS jersey on him… nah on second thought he represents the playoffs well. Actually I get what you’re trying to do and I like the analogy. But still, both teams have the same owner and so therefore I conclude he should have a stick.
I expect an upgrade on the next NHL video where you don’t discuss the physical injury but the mental impact of getting swept in round 1. By the AVS. The best team in the NHL. Forever. 🎤👋🏼

Key point, the medical staff was not trying to get him to sit up. He was actively trying to sit up on his own but was too confused to stay down and cooperate with the medical staff, so they did the best they could to stabilize his neck as he tried to get up. Great job by the Leafs medical staff in what is a very challenging situation when an athlete is confused and not cooperating after an injury like this.

I’m an isles fan so I don’t particularly like him but I would never want this. No one would. The Only guy I wouldn’t have a problem seeing this happen to is Tom Wilson. He gave Brandon Carlo brain damage this season and has injured many more and has ended lubomir visnovski’s career. He’s done so many bad things to people that I wish something would happen to him. I hate that man even outside of the sport. If you consciously decide to hit someone in a vulnerable position to intentionally injure them, You are an awful person. Brian Bernard had a severe Eye injury years ago (roughly 20). I remember as a kid (Back in 1979-1980)seeing Darryl Sittler get his face Beat so bad you couldn’t even recognize any of the features when the Flyers Team decided to take turns beating him.. Then in 1986 Börje Salming got his Face cut open really bad when Detroit’s Gerard Gallant stepped on it during a scuffle. It took 250+ stitches to close up after surgery. They were all very serious injuries But None of them made me feel as sick to my Stomach as the hit tonight on Tavares. Perry is known to be dirty but tonight wasn’t done on purpose in my opinion.. just wrong place at the wrong time.. I hope I never see anything like that again & I enjoy a good hitting physical game.. as long as the hits are clean and everyone gets up.. it is possible to play that way.. I thought We just saw John Tavares get Paralyzed... So happy to hear he is doing well and so far tests are coming back favourable for him.. don’t want to loose my Favourite Leaf!

Really appreciate your analysis and insight on this situation. Although you obviously can't tell us 100% what the prognosis is, explaining the positive signs in the aftermath was comforting. I also appreciate your insight into the knowledge and training that the team's medical staff go through. It's always amazing watching people who are at the top of their profession.

Scary injury. I’m not even a fan of either of those teams, I’m a big New York Rangers fan but best of luck and my prayers will certainly include Tavares. Hoping for a speedy recovery. 🙏

Man as a Habs fan I freaked the hell out when Tavares got hit, hell even I had a few tears in my eyes hoping the dude was okay. No matter what team you represent it’s a game and we’re all human. Hopefully we see JT come back better than ever next season!

This injury is something I’ve always found very scary. The first time I watched this, my heart dropped when I saw Tavares up close. He looked like he was dead. Perry felt terrible after this. He tried his best to get out of the way, but it was too late. Thankfully, this injury didn’t end Tavares career and he’s still playing at his best. Good for him, and kudos to the Maple Leafs medical team.

I cant believe JT still had his stick in his hands during the entire sequence. I've never felt so sick watching a hockey game before and have never wanted a game to just end any quicker. This was terrifying and im just thankful that we seen positive signs before he left the ice because it looks like a carreer ending scene. Prayers go out to JT, his family and his friends

I was sick to my stomach watching this and honestly got a little teary eyed, I thought we were witnessing his career being ended and maybe even life altering injury (paralysis) also couldn’t help and think about his number baby and his wife and what she must’ve been thinking. Scary stuff but glad he’s home and apparently it was only a concussion.

Good discussion. The ‘medical staff’ were Athletic Therapists’. These health care professions are always the first onto the ice to deal with any injuries. See the Ontario Athletic Therapist Association.
