    This is the kind of hunt content I really like to see. You spent nearly the first 3 minutes explaining why you wanted to give this loadout a shot, explained the pros and cons, and went into it. Moreover, you’re aware that what you’re bringing isn’t necessarily the ideal loadout because that isn’t the point.

    Something that goes wrong with the silenced sparks is that it doesn’t have the same penetration values on materials as regular long ammo. You pretty much have to take FMJ to penetrate a lot of metal surfaces that an uppercut can penetrate. The spider lair at Alice Farm is a good place to test this, as the sparks silence can’t pen the metal roofing (which long ammo usually can). I also feel like the “effective” range for the silenced sparks, where you get the full 149 damage, drops off fairly quickly and is in range for people to hear you anyways. It just feels so bad to use!

      As an avid Silenced Sparks user I will agree that you do need FMJ, but I fear most players use the Silenced Sparks wrong. Believe it or not, it’s best used for compound fights at close to medium range. I’ve got a video on my channel that showcases this. The slow bullet velocity is not intended for long range yet it still has the high 149 damage so playing attrition with your enemies is a great strategy. Sadly, the Silenced Winfield doesn’t fall in that category. So that is what makes it so hard to play and a less popular silenced weapon.

    I honestly have wanted to test this. Poison ammo can be hit or miss, but without an antidote it can be quite deadly. I love using silent loadouts, and off-meta loadouts so I really enjoyed this one. That first clutch was a nice breath of air! Great job, Peeb!

      For me, all ammo is pretty hit or miss. Mostly miss

    • @KornbreadTV
      @KornbreadTV 7 місяців тому

      @@thetayz72 - Regular ammo is usually the better option, and I find that’s a good balancing point that all special ammo has a downside whether it be no penetration or a trait that counters it. They are some weapons I do prefer special ammo over the regular though. Some examples is the Silenced Sparks I use FMJ over the regular for better damage range, and the Terminus I prefer Penny Shot over regular buckshot because it has a more consistent kill rate.

    maybe if silent winnie and sparks got a rework to thier sights, it could make them more valuable and reliable. Would be an amazing change

    TBH I think that the Silenced Sparks is the best 3 slot suppressed weapon simply because it can carry two ammo types and has a long ass headshot range (compared to other suppressed weapons).
    Needless to say, fire rate isn't as important for weapons of this kind as range and utility are unless we are talking about the Silenced Nagant, as it exists solely to take advantage of Fanning (bad weapon for anything otherwise). Unlike with the Winnie, having less hip accuracy doesn't hurt the Nagant much, as it has a ridiculously low range and no one is counting with such a cheap 1 slot weapon to be the king of combat at any range, especially anything that isn't CQB.
    And although the Shorty and the Vetterli have the benefit of being able to 2-tap at moderate ranges (the Shorty can use Dumdum to increase the 2-tap range, but this means low muzzle velocity, though I consider it worth most of the time), the Shorty doesn't have a good range and the Vetterli does not have access to Dumdum OR Poison (not that it is a good idea to use just Poison ammo, but you get the idea).
    I still find myself using the Shorty very often due to the synergy it has with my Bow Loadout: I need no Quartermaster, both weapons are silent and both can inflict Bleeding with different ammo types (Dumdum for the Shorty and either Arrows or Frag Arrows for the bow, which is loaded with both options). Combine with an Ammo Box or two and neither the Shorty nor the Bow will be out of ammo, even if you enjoy spamming.

    Sparks SD was always kind of a meme gun - the caliber makes it not even actually that silent (although on ash bloom I figure it's completely inaudible during the active portion), but it pays out the ass in damage drop and more importantly for the kind of gun it is, penetration power. Being a one-shot rifle still pigeonholes it into either going for headshots or some kind of upper body + spammy sidearm combo, but the silencer makes every stat important for that kind of play so much worse. The strengths are what, when you get that perfect headshot at max effective range with the gun's nonexistent bullet speed, the team you're shooting at won't know exactly where you're shooting from? But then when the target that guaranteed has resilience gets necro'd by a friend you will need to hit that headshot again because you don't actually have a real sparks?

    Even if you ignore using more custom ammo to inflate the Battlepass, giving EVERY weapon access to EVERY Special Ammo is just a bad idea, imo.
    Limiting what SA your favorite/main gun can use keeps gameplay interesting, forcing you to play and prep smart!

    • @jesterclownmime
      @jesterclownmime 7 місяців тому +5

      Imagine complaining about increased variety. If a gun requires custom ammo to stand out and have a niche then it wasn't a well designed weapon in the first place. More custom ammo equals more diverse and interesting loadouts.

    • @peebnute
      @peebnute  7 місяців тому +4

      Limiting what weapons had which special ammo really gave certain weapons an identity, and was a neat way to give statistically worse weapons more of a niche. The New Army was cool to me because it was the only fast firing weapon that could take dum dum, and now that both the officer and the spitfire can take it I feel a big part of its identity and appeal has been lost.

    • @jesterclownmime
      @jesterclownmime 7 місяців тому

      The Army was the beginning of adding new guns for the sake of new content. It does have a speedloader and one less round on the officer, though. Everything will begin to lose its niche as similarly functioning weapons are added. That's not a bad thing, still more variety. There are so many guns in every other FPS game that have similar qualities, we're just used to a smaller, more niche arsenal. If a gun needs ammo to be special, then it wasn't that great in the first place.@@peebnute

    Obviously poison isn't going to make it any better, incendiary was already a better option for most of the effects poison offered. I would never run the silenced Winnie or any silenced gun in a team really. You're just hamstringing yourself unless you are able to help your team move across the map silently. In a fight unless your whole team is playing stealthy nobody really cares about a third guy silently plinking away at them with an inferior gun while they fight the rest of your team. Silenced Winnie is great solo with HV and levering paired with a Terminus Handcannon but that's because you have the freedom to reposition quickly and quietly without having to cover team mates.

      @superguy183828 7 місяців тому +5

      I don't totally disagree with everything, but I will say, having a silenced weapon with trios partners has value, as you flanking with a silenced weapon can really confuse / hide from your enemies and lead to much more effective flanking

    • @peebnute
      @peebnute  7 місяців тому +2

      Yes and no. I think for PvP incendiary is better than poison since it can't be hard countered by an antidote shot, but for PvE poison is overall more effective. As for having a silent weapon in a team it can be very nice just for clearing sound traps or opening up flank routes, and also if that silent weapon is a bit separated from the loud weapons on the team the enemies might not realize that they've been flanked.

    • @jesterclownmime
      @jesterclownmime 7 місяців тому +2

      Works better in duos when you can focus on coordination. Even if you're perfectly in synch with your team mates, other trio teams tend to ignore silenced weapons and just run down the players they can see. If your team mates can hold a good defensive position and give a flanker time you might be able to make it worthwhile but then the flanker has to score a kill and not be discovered. I've caught and spanked so many ratty enemies playing separately from their team. Same reason decoys don't work as well in trios, duos players just pay more attention generally and play slow paced enough for something like a decoy to catch them off guard@@superguy183828

      I think anytime someone says x is objectively bad 100% of the time it hurts their argument. Silenced Winnie definitely has it's pvp issues, but you can also wipe teams with it if you build the loadout around it. I mean that's the best part about Hunt for me. I get to play around with load outs and figure out how to make things synergize.

    The shorty silencer is so much better than everything since the high velocity was added. These full size silenced weapons should be better but.theybare not. They desperately need a buff. And the shorty needs a nerf. Those sights on the winnie suck ass. Just use the shorty
