Gabe Catalfo read the question. The question will normally say something like “a random sample” or “the population of” or something along those lines

Instead of clearing the entire memory one could:
STAT>ClrList> 2nd 1,2... (this will input L1 and L2)

ye just go to stat the number 4 where it says clear list and put in the list you want to get cleared

Do not reset memory as he states. It wiped out my programs for quadratic functions and others...shame on you for not stating this.
