Thanks for the visual explanation! Can you explain what is the advantage of a calculator over spreadsheets (for example, Excel)? Who needs calculating statistics on calculators?
In life, A spreadsheet would be far better than a calculator. A calculator is just more of a classroom format tool. As a professor we often don’t want our students on the computer while taking a test.
help! when i go to calculate and enter the list number it says: ERR:ARGUMENT 1:QUIT 2:GO TO and when I hit go to it just goes back to the 1-VAR Stats screen
Naomi Guechussi After you select“Calc”, the mean is listed as the first figure after the x-bar symbol. The calculations for a sample mean and the population mean are identical so even though x-bar is listed, the value is also the same as mu, the population mean. I hope that answers your question.

Hi, sorry this reply got buried. Did you resolve the issue? All I can think of Is that you ran some other list before going to the SX button.
