A few fun facts about Queen: * Guitarist Sir Brian May (The man with the curly hair....!) has a Ph.D. in Astrophysics and built his electric guitar (Red Special) when he was 17 (with his dad). * Bassist John Deacon has a degree in electronics. He designed and built the amp that Brian sometimes uses to create unique sounds on Red Special. John was also involved in the band’s financial management. * Drummer Roger Taylor has a degree in biology (pre-med). His vocal range is better than most lead singers of other groups. * Lead singer Freddie Mercury has a degree in graphic design. It goes without saying that his vocal range was amazing and he was the best front man of any band. * All four have written #1 hits, and all are members of the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

The great thing about the gal at the end is that back then, security ensured that only authorized professional photagraphers were alowed to bring cameras into the gig, let alone stand at the front of the stage with a camera. That probably means that that pro photographer at the end was so moved she wasn't even taking shots! Awesome.

BP please do the music video of 'Who wants to live forever' first. The beginning with Brian singing, Freddie's spectacular entrance down the stairs and the lighting and orchestra make the atmosphere so hauntingly beautiful. Always gives me goosebumps and tears.
I have to tell you BP, that you’re still only scratching the surface of how great a band Queen was. So great in fact, that while all the songs you’ve listened to so far are some of their biggest hits, their best songs never even charted or had limited air play. I’m going to mention some with the premise the Queensters will jump in and provide others. I’d do it myself but I’m at work and I’m a one finger typer and it’s starting to hurt🤣. “Liar”, “Brighton Rock”, “Doing Alright”, “Great King Rat”, “Ogre Battle”, “Father to Son”, “The March of the Black Queen”, “Now I’m Here”, “White Man”, “The Prophet’s Song”, “Sheer Heart Attack” and “It’s Late”. Okay folks, please take it from here !
Freddie wrote this song for the true love of his life Mary Austin. He married her before he came out and even after fully accepting that he was gay, he still loved her with all his soul. He had a husband at the time of his death but still left Mary the majority of his estate. Freddie was a gift to humanity for the short 45 yrs we had him.
1 of my favourite Queen songs.so beautiful!!.would love to see you react to the other video of this where the whole audience sing the song word for word and Freddie is visibly moved by them its so beautiful it makes me cry ❤
I was lucky to witness this magical moment of Queen's live shows four times, in 1980, twice in 1982 (so either side of this 1981 performance). Then again in 1984. Great crowd singalong in the days when fans shut up and listened to a band, sang at the top of their voices when they were meant to - like in this song - not singing loudly all the time, every lyric of every song, all the way through, like they do now. Best version of this song on the Queen live double album, Live Killers from 1979. Queen at their live best 1979-1982. They were also the biggest band in the world, sales and attendances wise, 1980-1981.
Sweetie the man with the hair is Sir Brian May one of the greatest rock guitarists ever and he is also an astrophysicist xx Freddie was simply the greatest performer that's ever drawn breath xx
If you haven’t watched the movie “Bohemian Rhapsody” then you need to! Its phenomenal! It came out a few years ago and you’ll understand so much more about Queen and Freddy. He wrote that song about someone he was in love with. Great movie!
Freddie Mercury wrote several songs that were inspired by his relationship with Mary Austin, who was a significant figure in his life. The most notable songs include: "Love of My Life" - This ballad from Queen's album A Night at the Opera (1975) expresses deep affection and longing, often interpreted as a tribute to Mary. "You're My Best Friend" - Co-written by Mercury and Queen's guitarist Brian May, this song from the album A Night at the Opera is often thought to reflect Mercury's close friendship and emotional bond with Mary. "The Night Comes Down" - While not directly about Mary, this song from Queen II (1974) contains themes of love and longing that can be associated with his feelings for her. "Dear Friends" - This track from the album Queen II is a gentle and heartfelt reflection on friendship, which can also be linked to Mercury’s feelings for Mary. Freddie often referred to Mary as his common-law wife, and their relationship deeply influenced his music and lyrics throughout his career.
I’m so glad you enjoyed this great song …..Freddie always sang every song like he meant every word……from hard rock and roll to beautiful love ballads ……to singing opera in Barcelona…..he was simply amazing. I didn’t see that you had a playlist for Queen ….so it’s hard for me to know which songs you have reacted to. Most of their songs are better when performed live ……. So please react to any and all of their live performances: “Save Me” “Tie Your Mother Down” “One Vision” “A Kind of Magic” “Under Pressure” are just a few….. But many great songs were never performed live….”The Show Must go On” Freddie sang this song shortly before he died, he was very sick and weak ….. it was released weeks before he passed away……. but his voice was still fantastic. You really must react to this song ……please😊. Thank you for your honest and heartfelt reactions…..looking forward to more Queen reactions.
Brian May is the geniuses name you didn't yet know ;) I love the Rock In Rio version of this song. An enormous Brazilian crowd sing and feel every word of this song. It is magical.
You need to check out the performances of this song both at Wembley (1986) and Rio (1985) to see the audience participation that they didn't receive here at Montreal, because the producers of this concert insisted that the audience should sit still and keep quiet, since they were filming.......
The guitarist is Dr. Brian May, he not only is one of the best guitarist out there but has a PhD in Astrophysics. He is also known as Sir Brian May because he was knighted by King Charles. The amazing, charismatic, talented legendary Freddie Mercury wrote this song for his ex fiancé Mary Austin. They were together for 6 years and when he came out to her as bisexual it ended their romantic relationship but solidified an even greater love between them. She was his steady rock and confidante and closest friend for he rest of his life. He bought her a house very close to his and she worked as his bookkeeper and she traveled with him and she was one of the few people he literally trusted with his money and his life. He left her half of his estate and his home and all of his belongings and trusted her with his ashes after he was cremated. He always feared that obsessed fans would desecrate his grave and disturb his rest so before he died he told her what he wanted done with his ashes and for her to never tell anyone not even his family or his band mates. She kept this vow to him, she said about two years after his death when the paparazzi stopped following her she took his ashes and snuck out of the house one day and carried out his wishes. No one else in the world knows what she did with them and she said no one ever will. She is in her 70’s now and she has never written a book about him or smeared his name in any way like so many of his so called friends have done and she will take his secret burial spot to her grave. She loved him enough to let him go so he could be his authentic self and he in turn said in interviews that all his lovers want to know why they can’t replace Mary and he said it’s impossible to replace her in his heart. No one could ever come between them, they just had what he called a pure love of the highest order. He said to him that she was his common law wife and that they had a marriage and he would love her until his last breath and he did. His produce and friend Mac Reinhold said in an interview that before Freddie was diagnosed with aids that Freddie had told him that he might be ready to give up his lifestyle that he was living and settle down and maybe think about having a family. People say Freddie was gay but he told Mary he was bisexual and he had sexual relations with many other women as well as men and in his later years more men then women but I have to wonder if he had lived if at some point he would have settled down with Mary. I don’t know for sure of course but he was very close to Mac and his family and was Godfather to Mac’s son Freddie Mac, obviously named after after Freddie, and Freddie spent a lot of time with them and really envied that family life. Freddie was sent to boarding school in India when he was 7 years old and barely seen his own parents until he was like 16 or 17 and they moved to London so Freddie didn’t have that close knit family life growing up and it really caused him to have abandonment issue his whole life. He hated being alone and it was hard for him to have a committed relationship with anybody. It’s rather said that his parents did that to him. Anyway. That’s the info that I’ve read about him and I’ve read and watched everything I can find about him and Queen. They are my favorite band.
I’ll give you some background info on Queen. Queen is comprised of Freddie Mercury, lead vocalist and plays piano and occasional guitar. He has a 4 octave vocal range. Received a diploma in graphic design and created the band’s logo. He passed away in 1991 and is considered by many to be the best frontman ever. Dr. Sir Brian May is the lead guitarist and sings. He also plays piano and harp. He has a Ph D in Astrophysics and has an IQ north of 180. He has worked on several projects for NASA. He and his father made the guitar he plays (referred to as the Red Special) out of things they had around the house when Brian was 16. The neck is made from 100 year old fireplace mantle (hand carved), the body made from an oak table and the tremolo bar made from bike parts and his mother’s knitting needle. 60 years later and he still uses that guitar. Brian was knighted 2 years ago. John Deacon is the Bassist and also plays drums, guitar, piano, double Bass. He graduated with High honors degree in Engineering and made an amp out of an old speaker cabinet and things he found in the trash. It’s called the Deacy Amp and he gave it to Brian to use which allows Brian’s guitar to sound like different orchestral instruments. Brian tried to have another one made but no one can duplicate the sounds the Deacy Amp can make. John looked after the band’s finances. Roger Taylor is the drummer and can play guitar and keyboards as well. He has a 😅3 1/2 octave vocal range and he has a high falsetto earning him the nickname, the dog whistle. He went to school to become a dentist and got bored so he got a degree in Biology. These are 4 talented and smart men who were perfectionists. All 4 wrote number 1 hits and all 4 were inducted into the songwriter’s hall of fame, a feat very few bands, if any besides Queen accomplished.
Brian and Freddie wrote both individually and wrote many songs together. Brian wrote some of my favorite Queen 10:28 songs. I love The Prophet Song, 39, Teo Torriatte...

Every version of this song is beautiful. The one version where the crowd sings the song even gets Freddy emotional.😢 😎
Rio or Wembley?
Both are amazing in their own ways too
@TheSandersd84 Rio 85, the fans were tremendous.
@@Mikes5276 agreed. That was like 225k or something like that? 450k over both nights of their concerts there
The great thing about the gal at the end is that back then, security ensured that only authorized professional photagraphers were alowed to bring cameras into the gig, let alone stand at the front of the stage with a camera. That probably means that that pro photographer at the end was so moved she wasn't even taking shots! Awesome.
Love this it was so raw just Freddie & Brian, fantastic, thank you
His voice....I'm speechless. I never heard this song. I love your channel BP! I'm so glad I found you! 60 year old woman that loves the Grateful Dead and Tupac!
The studio version is lovely. Freddie sings lead and all the harmonies; Brian plays harp!
Thank you. I watched to the end.
It's nice to see others are using cognitive abilities.
Namaste 💜🙏
this always gets me emotional cause he really meant the lyrics,in 81 he had just 10yrs left and he's not here to see how much he's still loved and grow old disgracfully loving life.
this song gives the rest of the band a break.
now adam lambert is their singer.i've seen videos of Brian still performing this with freddie on a screen behind him.at the end he reaches out as if to touch freddies hand.he gets quite emotional.
It's actually Brian and Freddie not Roger
@@shirleyklein1770 omg I can't believe I'd ever make that mistake.
I guess I was more emotional than I thought lol.
Thanks for that catch, I've corrected it.phew
Save Me from the same Montreal concert is also worth reacting to
They says it's the best show they ever put on.
agreeeee 🙂
That's Brian May, much beloved & exalted guitarist & an astrophysicist too! Fun fact - he uses a coin rather than a plectrum to pick the guitar strings.
That is the exceptional Brian May playing the acoustic guitar.
There has only been 1 Freddie Mercury
The beautiful gift of music ..
Freddie had a voice like no other! Mary was the love of his life
I love this song. Thank you for this version. ❤
Me second favourite Queen song after The Show must go on & My melancholy blues tie for first. Dear Freddie was so unique
Then it is your third favourite Queen song.
@ correct :-)
WHO WANTS TO LIVE FOREVER
Live in Budapest!!!
BP please do the music video of 'Who wants to live forever' first. The beginning with Brian singing, Freddie's spectacular entrance down the stairs and the lighting and orchestra make the atmosphere so hauntingly beautiful. Always gives me goosebumps and tears.
Freddie is the GOAT!!
@Proud.American58 Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy, Seaside Rendez Vous, Teo Torriatte, I'm In Love With My Car.
@ thanks! Who’s next with some more great songs we have yet to mention?
Bring back memories...I was there.
I was there too! This brings back such great memories.
I'd never heard this Queen song! Beautiful!
Another great reaction, Dude!
It's on A Night at the Opera
This is so gorgeous. Long live Queen!!!!!❤
Freddie and Mary never got married but they were engaged at one time
1 of my favourite Queen songs.so beautiful!!.would love to see you react to the other video of this where the whole audience sing the song word for word and Freddie is visibly moved by them its so beautiful it makes me cry ❤
There's another video of this song where the audience sings with him and he directs them it's so good ❤
Queen never miss
Brain may the guitarist say the with the crowd after Freddie's passing...so emotional and everyone sang and missed him together..it's on UA-cam
You gotta check out this song live from Rio, the whole crowd is singing it ♥️
I was lucky to witness this magical moment of Queen's live shows four times, in 1980, twice in 1982 (so either side of this 1981 performance).
THIS is musical magic!
I ❤ Queen!! I ❤❤❤ Freddie!
Freddie Mercury wrote several songs that were inspired by his relationship with Mary Austin, who was a significant figure in his life. The most notable songs include:
"Love of My Life" - This ballad from Queen's album A Night at the Opera (1975) expresses deep affection and longing, often interpreted as a tribute to Mary.
John Deacon wrote "You're My Best Friend" for his wife
You're. My Best Friend was written by Bassist John Deacon.
@kaljaukko5439 Dear Friends was written by Brian May and so was The Night Comes Down.
Thank you for this. One of my favorites by Queen. ❤
But many great songs were never performed live….”The Show Must go On”
Freddie sang this song shortly before he died, he was very sick and weak ….. it was released weeks before he passed away……. but his voice was still fantastic. You really must react to this song ……please😊. Thank you for your honest and heartfelt reactions…..looking forward to more Queen reactions.
So beautiful ❤ thanks for the reaction 😊
Brian May is the geniuses name you didn't yet know ;) I love the Rock In Rio version of this song. An enormous Brazilian crowd sing and feel every word of this song. It is magical.
You need to check out the performances of this song both at Wembley (1986) and Rio (1985) to see the audience participation that they didn't receive here at Montreal, because the producers of this concert insisted that the audience should sit still and keep quiet, since they were filming.......
OH, WOW!!! :) LOVE THIS SONG!!! THANKS, BP!!! You MADE MY FRIDAY!!! Worked late, and it's nice to come listen to THIS!! HUGS!!!
Beautiful song for sure. beautiful reaction, thank you.
Montreal is still lit! fantastic restaurants, great summer festivals, great places to go out, and some of the most beautiful women in the world!
Live in Rio will blow your mind. 🎉
Freddie said that playing the crowd was his favorite instrument.
Yess thank you for doing this such a good song ❤
Listen to the studio version. Its a beautiful song.
Somebody to Love from Montreal and their Live Aid performance is a must. I thought you had reactions to Queen, anyway Brian May on the guitar.
Great reaction! If you enjoy live performances by Queen please put on your list the song "White Queen" from the Odeon Hammersmith, 1975! It's epic!
Brian and Freddie wrote both individually and wrote many songs together. Brian wrote some of my favorite Queen 10:28 songs. I love The Prophet Song, 39, Teo Torriatte...
Man, I love that you show your heart! Thank you for sharing a part of you with us! ❤
you would love the studio version...awesome!
Please do us all a favor and listen to Queen Body Language! Thank you for reminding me of times I hadn't thought about in years.. watching this Nov. 23 in Texas 6:00pm
Love me some Queen
I was 14 at this concert. With my family. Great song indeed. If you want a deeper cut that is quintessential Queen and hasn’t been reacted to as much, try It’s Late. Great tune that was overshadowed by We Will Rock You and We Are the Champions on the same album.
This song is beautiful! Some of their songs are also fun! Like ' lazing on a Sunday afternoon " or "I'm in love with my car'or " your my best friend" .......
The guitarist with curly hair is Queen lead guitarist Brian May.
You’re absolutely right about Fauci and thank you for mentioning it.
Great song, try the live version at Wembley Stadium 1986. 70,000 people singing along.
To me, the best Queen song ever ❤❤❤
BP, I'm the guy who encouraged you to check out Roy Clark's Malaguena on the Odd Couple, so I won't steer you wrong. Now that you've seen this, you really need to check out Queen doing this song live in Tokyo in 2014 (actually It's Queen with Adam Lambert, but Adam doesn't sing in the video). It'll blow you away. Watch it whether you actually react to it or not, but when you do, keep in mind it's in Tokyo and most of the audience doesn't speak English.
Sir Brian may on guitar who wrote we will rock you,fat bottom girls among others and my favourite who wants to live forever, there are 4 members of queen who all write their songs, also the ost for flash and highlander movies, love watching you
Sir Dr Brian May on guitar, genius and knight of the realm
And wedded to dens bird off eastenders! 😉👍🏻🇬🇧
Impossible not see that ❤❤❤
