Freddie's voice so captivating. He is so deeply missed. Thank you Freddie!
Met him at the age of 15 - with by BFF - and what we asked was "can we have your autograph" - but my friends mother butted in and told him "all my daughter ever talks about is Freddie-Freddie-Freddie!!" -- and while Robyn was understandably humiliated - his response was to look down for a second, then look up through his beautiful eyelashes and say, very quietly "Really?" - like he just couldn't believe it... he was shy, charming and lovely... and after my friend and I left... (it was a hotel lunchroom across a parking lot in Kalamazoo, MI from the concert venue we had been standing outside for HOURS in January weather) - we ran away to wait in line for the concert... and as the band left the room, and passed the lobby vending machine, Freddie asked Robyn's mother what coins he needed to buy a trinket... she told him 4 quarters, and he bought a key-chain set - with a heart and key (heart has a key-space) -- took out the "key" and gave the heart chain to Rob's mother and said "give this to your daughter" -- the inscription was "he who holds the key can open my heart" - that's the kind of guy Freddie was.. more to the story, the whole band was in the hotel restaurant and Brian May was the one who said "ought we to sign two?" when we asked for autographs... and also, when we did finally see the concert ("general admission" meant that you ran as fast as you could to the front) - each band member gave us a smile and a nod... well, except for Roger, who obviously could not see us from behind the drums... Gotta say, I've heard many stories of disappointments when people have met their "idols" - but this was just the opposite - wish I could give more details about the meeting, but this post is already super-long and likely not that interesting to most... just sayin' Love Freddie and Queen... (from an old lady)
Are you kidding? I'd love more details, as I'm sure everyone who reads your comment would! Would it bother you to say what year it was? I'm no spring chicken myself, but that's okay. I've been a fan from their 1st album. With age comes not only wisdom, but a backlog of memories of great artists & great concerts. I got to see Zeppelin three times, and many other greats, but I still bemoan the fact I missed out on Queen live. So by all means give us a few more tidbits. I'm sure even new fans would be interested.
Thank you, Deborah - you are too kind! this was the tour upon release of "Day at the Races" - they opened with Tie your Mother Down, and it was crashing awesome -- I just looked it up and it was actually January 1977 - So I must've been 16 (turned in August '76) --Thin Lizzy opened for them, and they were amazing as well - took my single mind off of Brian May (briefly) when I saw how cool Phil Lynott was - with that "dark energy" - bass slung almost down around his knees ... RIP Phil, as well - long gone, far too soon...
Gin Mae It's a wonderful story! How very lucky you were! And you write about him looking up through his beautiful eyes and eyelashes it makes me picture him looking directly into the camera the same way at the beginning of his performance in Montreal when he sang Somebody to Love.
Thanks for sharing - what a great memory to have!!! Only wish I had been there with y'all!!
Yes - those beautiful, magnetic eyes - but this was Freddie with the longer hair and pre-mustache... more like in the "official" Bohemian Rhapsody video -- :)
I am a grandmother. When Freddie hit that beautiful high note, the hair on my arms stood up!
How could anyone resist him? His voice, personality and physical beauty are unmatched -- then, now, and forever.
I did interact with Freddie when I saw Queen in 1976 with orchestra pit seats. He handed me a rose I said thank you. I also touched his bare foot and he smiled. One of the best nights of my life. Queen was still playing small venues. Bohemian Rhapsody has just hit the stores. I was a Queen fan already. Lucky me.💙
hell yeah lucky you why couldn't we all be so fortunate
UR SO LUCKY!!
No question. I would simply say I Love you and Thank You.
I would tell him he was the most amazing musician/person ever
I worked as a volunteer at Aid Atlanta from 1990-1993. I saw so many people who suffered with Aids. If we could go back in time, I would ask (beg) him to protect himself. It literally breaks my heart that he left us so soon and that with medical advances, if he held out a few years, he could still be here. His loss in 1991 was a gut punch for sure. We love you Freddie!
Nothing to ask, just have to say thank you. Thank you for making us laugh, cry and sing together.
Dani Evan's - that is the exact thing I'd say to Freddie. 💜💕, 🇬🇧
Exactly .
if i had one chance i would say thank you thats all
I’d only ask him if I could please give him a hug, and I would thank him for all the wonderful music
Me too !!!
thats selfish
bryan sim what I mean is this: I don’t want to scream and bug him for a bunch of autographs and otherwise act like that he’s an “object”... I would have loved to get to know him as a *person*, but I also know that the demands on his time and attention simply wouldn’t allow that even if he were so inclined to let me in.
I was imagining it as if I just had a few moments to meet him... and I’d want to *thank* him instead of making demands. That’s all.
My first thought was also not to bother him with a question. But to just say "THANK YOU!".
But actually a HUGE THANK YOU to all of them. Withoyt all of them, we never would have had Queen. We might have had sone good music. But, we never would habe had Queen. Thank all of you: Freddie, Brian, Roger and John. You brought us such wonderfully creative, fun and beautiful music.
I would say "Thankyou" 💕💕💕💕💕😎😎😎😎😎
If I had the chance to say ONE thing to say to Freddie it'd be:"Thank you Mr Bulsara for every fucking single moment I had the chance to listen to your music! For your passion, your love and that you shared it with us! Thank you!!
I would just say "We still love you Freddie and thank you for all the music!"
"Thank you, Freddie, for all the love"
Every time Freddie sang, my heart swooned!!!! Such a gent 😍😍
If you want to hear the most beautiful ballad he ever wrote and sung, react the Queen "You Take My Breath way", with lyrics. One of the most amazing vocal use of his voice. And most heart felt words in a Love song "ever" written. Just Piano solo and backing vocals. Guaranteed to give you positive chills. Its regarded as a Masterpiece.
Oooh, that's a great one for him to react to. Most excellent choice. Gorgeous song sung by an equally gorgeous voice.
Beautiful song good choice😊👍
You take my breath away is the most beautiful love song ever. Period
Wow, I had completely forgotten about that one! Thanks so much for reminding me of it. I'm listening to it now.
Beautiful song
“You Take My Breath away” both the recorded and live version will actually take your breath away.
You take my breath away the live version 76 Hyde park is incredibly
I would tell him how valuable his music is to me and ask him if he really knew how loved he was regardless of what the press had to say.
I would ask him what is the fire that drove him to give himself to us on such a deep level through his music and I’d say THANK YOU! We will never have another Freddie, we don’t need one. He left it all on the stage...like he said “the Show Must Go On”!
I'm so glad a movie was finally made to honor this beautiful man and the incredible band Queen. Now a new generation will discover their majestic and phenomenal music contributions to history!
If I had one question for Freddie I would say I love you, thank you, you make us all so happy and are you happy Freddie ?
I get the chills when he sings this. I dare you not to feel something listening to this song. And let’s not forget Brian. He plays so beautifully. I wish the crowd would have reacted better and sang along. I know that bummed Freddie out.
I’ll be honest... I love him so much my heart *hurts*, but it’s more of a motherly feeling, even though he’s 22 years older than me. I feel so much concern for him (even though, of course, he’s gone). I actually pray for him every day (it’s a Catholic thing...we pray for the dead) and hope that he’s in Heaven. Before everyone unleashes their wrath on me- stop- let me live, people! I hope to meet him there someday, God willing. If we all get there, let’s ask for a concert! 🥰
I'm Agnostic, but I'd love meet him.... Someday.
Can you imagine what Heaven’s choir sounds with him there! ❤️❤️
I'd ask Freddie if I could please have a hug. Then I'd tell him he's a beautiful person and thank him for bringing me and so many other people in the world so much happiness and inspiration. 🎶🎹💖
I wouldn't ask a question, I would thank him for the joy his music brought me and still does
Beautiful ❤️🥰
This song was written for his love, Mary Austin. Your reactions to Queen warm my heart! ❤️
No questions from me, just a very sincere Thank You
The somebody to love performance from Montreal is amazing
I get goosebumps hearing Freddie sing this ballad! He was/still is the greatest. What a gift!
Beautiful!
Freddie, how do you think about these new fans of yours? They come looong after you made your last music and they still love you the same as like, me who's been your fan since 1975
Btw who the fudge put an onion up in here??
I'd just say Thank you for such massive influence in music an for those timeless hits 🎤🎸🥁
Two legends and a guitar. That's all it took to leave it's mark. This song always brings a tear. RIP Freddie, sadly missed.. 💔
If I met him I would say: I love you and I’m speechless
All I would say is 'we all love you no matter what' to Freddie, give him a big hug and smile.
This song makes me cry every time I listen to it! Freddy was a genius!! My love of my life (my sons father)died 4 years ago from cancer and I was his caregiver , I was by his side and holding his hand at the end!
Generations will be totally captivated of you, love you and adore you... And The other in the band. Rightfully so... Love you to the moon and back Freddie
"You don't deserve your ears - give 'em back" 🤣🤣🤣🤣 And yes....the ladies (well at least this one!) responds as you predict to Queen!!! That's why we keep coming (😉) back !!!!🤣🤣 The description you give for the young ladies expression is right on target!!! Loving this!!
😂😂😂 Anita; there's no end to the wit in here! All Freddie style and I love it!
Yeah I respond the same way when he hit that note , that voice has stolen my heart and soul.
I would simply thank him for giving me so much amazing music that I have loved for decades. And hug him.
Brian does such an amazing job now with this song. Saw Queen in 2006 and 2016...Brian had me in tears. Then they have Freddie up on the big screen for the last verse. ( I also saw Freddie/Queen in 1982 but they didn't do this song then) All in Detroit. I can't think of a question I'd ask him. I know I'd thank him for putting all those feelings into words. I think I'd want to just hug him so tight...like help heal his insecurities 💔
I still thank him for his music and love he brought to the world. He genuinely loved us and he will never be forgotten ♥️
I wouldn’t have a question for him but I would say “I LoVE you very much and thank you for being You....” ❤️ and yeah, wooooow for every live performance that Freddie did
I just one word to say to Freddie:
THANK YOU DEAR.., for being just the way you were... for made your dreams come true, for your marvelous music... for gave us love, joy, tears and astonishment, for touch my heart and soul, and of millions more, trough this almost 50 years, since you decided that MUSIC were your life...., and you worked in your music, until your body wasn’t capable to go on..!!!
GRACIAS... que más puedo decir..!!
💔💔💔💔
Not a question...I'd just say 'God Bless and keep you forever happy Freddie'.
Sweet, sweet Freddie - you are so loved even after all this time. 💜 We miss you and appreciate everything you left here for us. xoxo
You have to do You take My Breath Away. You will be amazed at the difference. I would ask Freddie where did he draw motivation from after he got sick. I get that he carried a constant feeling of loneliness and most of his outrageous behavior was a defense mechanism. But the strength he had to overcome the knowledge that he was sick and sing some of his greatest music puts me in awe.
I would thank him for all the amazing music he wrote and used his beautiful voice to carry on through many generations. My grand daughter even knows the words to most of their songs. I would ask him did he realize how his voice would last forever
I'd have to tell him that he is still loved and listened to by new fans everyday and of course tell him.. You were never boring darling.
I've heard him sing many versions of this incredibly beautiful ballad but in this one he reveals his heart, his love, and his pain. So, to answer your question, the part of my body that was affected was ... my heart; he made me feel what he was feeling. To show one's vulnerability in front of thousands, and later millions of people, is the greatest show of strength there is. I totally agree with a statement you made in another reaction, you said; "A talent like Freddie Mercury comes once in a century." True
First...thank you for that...😙id ask him to be more careful...and thank him i couldnt have had a better sound track to my life. Ever changing always amazing. Happy healthy new year to you and all the Queenies on here. 💟💗💖XxX
You stated it perfectly Belinda! I too would, "...thank him [because] I couldn't have had a better sound track to my life. Ever changing always amazing!"
Yes that note! Enuff said! 😉
Lamar you are truly a Queen family member, love your joy!
It's like an Eargasm when Freddie sings. Since you're reacting to Live Montreal: Tie Your Mother Down, Keep Yourself Alive and We Will Rock You (fast version)....talk about an Eargasm there.....
I wouldn’t ask him a question, I would simply say you are the greatest male vocalist ever and your a legend who will never be forgotten
I fell in love with this song when I went back to the Philippines in 89, they are really into classic rock. BTW I would ask him "Is there anything he would change that he did in the past?" 5:00 lol
I know this is classic music, i went to one of their concerts NEVER NEVER forget it. Talent in many ways..................................................
Here I am all sentimental anyway the day after Christmas & you go & ask that question & open the floodgates. So as I wipe away tears...I'd want to tell Freddie that even after 27 years he & his music are still beloved & relevant, and being embraced by each new generation. And then I'd ask him to sing "You Take My Breath Away" to me, even one verse would make me happy. After all, he has taken my breath away since I was 18.
L., if you do that song it really is important you listen to the "Live at Hyde Park '76" video. It's short, just 3 minutes, and it's haunting, ethereal. Freddie had just written it, they hadn't even recorded it yet. That video is special to us fans, which now includes you. But then, in the studio, they added to it in a way that made it downright eerie in its beauty. Both versions are essential.
Thanks for doing this video. It's obvious you see (and feel) why millions of people of all ages, around the world, love Freddie & Queen. You've joined a huge, beautiful club, and we embrace you wholeheartedly.💙
Deborah Cornell beautifully said, you made me cry, to have Freddie sing that song, sigh,
you should react to Who Wants To Live Forever! Live at Wembley it's one of my favorite live performances by Queen
I would say Thank You for your gift to us - your impeccable voice - no question needed.
Love of my life...... all time favorite!!!!! Had forgotten how much I love this.
I would ask him "How does it feel to make people feel so damn good" You have to witness the live version of "Love of my Life" from 1985 in Rio. The 2nd concert! 250,000 to 300,000 people singing this beautiful song! Really is very cool something to witness! Not that I didn't enjoy this one I just think you should check that one out for yourself! 👍 To see Freddy and Brian's reaction to the crowd singing is awesome! Thanks for the reaction! Very cool channel. Happy Holidays! ✌
'music at it's finest, if you don't think so, you need to give your ears back', 'A lot of waterfalls' You are the best, you really get it. I love your Queen reactions.
My favourite ❤🌹
Just thank you
I would say to Freddie "thank you so much for the wonderful music"
I'd say thank you and Queen is forever!
I'd say, "Can please come back to us? We need you."
I would simply thank him For the greatest music ever made ...no other matters
did hear it again and again....again..the lady was in awe
I wouldn't ask a question I would just simply say "thank you for the music"
I would say. You don’t know how great you will be and how appreciated you and your music will be!
Barcelona live at la nit 1988.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
L., you said you'd ask "How did it feel, the journey, the experience". They did a song on their next to last album, "Was It All Worth It", in which Freddie sort of answers that. It's so poignant, them looking back at their years as a band, knowing full well it was coming to an end. But it's not really overly sentimental. It's powerful..full of grit & life while being sensitive at the same time, larger than life...as Freddie himself was right to the end.
Please do a reaction to it. It's an amazing song.
Freddie, you were able to write songs so easily. You were able to come up with melodies so easy. How does it feel to have these gifts?
What a beautiful SOUL....he had the biggest heart ever in the music industry...thank you for your heart felt in-sight on this song....Thank you so much for bringing this song back into my life...much love; from: La Chica De Chicago 😥😥🥰🥰🥰🥰♥️
I wouldnt ask him a question i would just say THANKYOU .
No questions.... just THANK YOU... i miss you..❤️
I would love to just say thank you and let him know how much we love him ❤️👑
There was no one better than Freddy and the boys, period. I would ask Freddy if he was happy once he and Queen had some fame behind them. It would suck to achieve so much and not be happy and proud. I forever love them
I think this is the best ever version of this song. So good especially at 3:20 when you pause it and replay it.....brings me to tears when I listen to this. Freddie was the best ever.
If I could say something to Freddie, it would have to be a great thank you, and ask to give him a hug. That would be the best way to tell him what I think of him. By the way - if you want a mindblowing version of Love of my life, try the concert in Rio - or just a little later than Montreal. It is like he conduct the audience!
If I had the opportunity to say something to Freddie it would simply be THANK YOU!
I would first thank Freddie for having the courage to be the flamboyant, fabulous, risk taking and genuine man that he was, especially during a time when being different was frowned upon!
I would tell him that he's one of the most beloved performers in history and thank him for sharing himself with us.
No questions, just saying thank you for the music that was the soundtrack of my live, make me laugh, make me cry, make me happy, make me love love❤️ thank you for bless me and the world with your genius and talent, your 4 guys genius and talent that make history together ❤️
(Tearing up) Thank you and bless you Mary for being the one constant love in his life.
The question I would ask him is what could we do for u to make u realize how emencly loved u r and what could we do to make u feel not so lonely because freddie was so very lonely u can feel it when he sings I just wish he would've met jim a long time before he did we all know he has said i won't grow to have old bones but just maybe he would have
Freddie Mercury + Queen 😍 make me feel soo proud and honoured to be British I would say to Freddie no matter what we the British people still love you Freddie
" Who wants to live forever " live at Wembley, saturday version ( friday also ) :)
I've been through so much in my life that a lot of times I just feel numb and emotionless, but there is one thing in this world that never fails to break my heart and it's his voice . Thank you Freddie for making me feel something again.
I’ve followed your Queen reactions and I want to thank you for the respect you have given them. I watched you fall in love with them as I did 45 years ago. You have taught me about Queen’s music and i am smitten with you- thank you Sir-♥️
I would just say I love you, you're a legend, you're the king!❤❤❤
Maybe I wouldn't ask any questions, I'd probably listen to him because I'm sure he would have so many interesting things to say and to teach you....
I always liked the melody of this song. I sang it to my daughters to help them sleep.
I would just want to hug him so tight and say thank you for bringing so much joy to my life and thank you for being you. 💋💋RIP FREDDIE YOU WERE OUR ANGEL ON EARTH AND NOW YOUR AN ANGEL IN HEAVEN😇
This is a good question dude. Um, I’d want to make sure that he’s happy or what made him happiest and that HE feels that he lived his life the way he wanted and was proud and happy. However I would much rather tell him thank you. I go through a lot of depression and I’ve a lot of hard times in my life but when I listen to his voice and their music I feel whole. It’s sometimes sad sometimes happy but I always feel good for that time. He gives me hope and comfort. I feel that we’re very similar in some ways and very different in others. I don’t look up to him the way some others do. But as a teenager he has left an impact on my life that will never go away. His words and voice and personality strike so deep. And though I don’t know him I feel like when I hear him sing he’s either singing to me or singing my thoughts exactly, I simply just feel very loved or not alone
I would simply say " Thank you for a lifetime of music"
I'm a new subscriber here so I thought I'd say hi and also thanks for doing all these Queen reactions, I'm really enjoying this journey with you. If I had the chance to ask Freddie anything I honestly wouldn't be able to come up with a good question, I'd probably just thank him for everything, for all the feels, for hitting me right into my heart and soul the way only he can with his masterful voice and talent.
I wouldn't ask him anything. I would thank him for speaking from the heart. I would tell him he understood my soul.
