I appreciate this so much! Whether we like the cd or not, the fact that an opera singer could get so far in their career that they are able to explore this side at such a high commercial level should be something we all tip our hat to. She is bringing new people and publicity to the opera world, a world that will die out if we don't do something to plug the new generation in. So, thank you Renee Fleming!
Not really an opera fan but as a guy who loves gorgeous women Renee gets MY attention---could get lost in that smile and those eyes without hesitation!
kudos to Renee...There is a canadian soprano who has been fusing an operatic voice to rock like radiohead to mozart ...... difference is that she uses her 4 octave soprano patriziamusic
She is not as talented as a pop singer than she is as an opera singer. Her pop voice is great, with big tone (proof opera singing is totally disconnected from the reality, especially for women) but nothing extraordinnary like Whitney Houston or Barbara Streisand. Can an opera singer belt?
Yes, I agree. Mid-life crisis? She's my opera idol. But I do not like her singing this way. I can't even recognize her voice. If it wasn't for live video, I'd fight ya till I was blue in the face that this wasn't her.
LOVE this side of her singing. I bought the CD Dark Hope and I love it. Fantastic.

Her range is incredible. You'd think she's an alto if you just listened to this and not her other stuff.
@arborgirls411
You are right. The supreme quality of her voice shines through. Other pop/rock radio singers are simply nowhere near her class vocally.
When you have money and power you can do whatever you want...good or bad...

Kudos to Renee for stepping out of her comfort zone but i still prefer her as an opera singer.
Is George under five feet tall?
Cher????
Hey Renee; next time you're teaching at Julliard, may I recommend a new student named Evancho? She shows a bit of promise....
Ha!

He did not say "Emmy winning"! Good grief!
She should give Micro Cuts a try.
LOL

Talented mezzo but the sounds from the speakers don't match her lips.
Cheap.
+Michael Doyle Renee Fleming is actually a full lyric soprano in opera. Her low end range is impressive though.
I don't like this. I love Renee, and I love her opera voice. But I don't like this. Was she bored???
