The Kennedy Center Honors is an annual honor given to those in the performing arts for their lifetime of contributions to American culture.
The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts is proud to celebrate the 46th Honorees for lifetime artistic achievements: actor and comedian Billy Crystal; acclaimed soprano Renée Fleming; British singer-songwriter producer, and member of the Bee Gees, Barry Gibb; rapper, singer, and actress Queen Latifah; and singer Dionne Warwick.
The event took place Sunday, December 3rd, 2023, in the Kennedy Center Opera House, and premieres Wednesday, December 27 at 8pm ET on CBS and will be available for viewing on Paramount+.

I had the immense honour of working with Ms Fleming at the Paris Opera, and I totally agree with Sigourney, she's a lovely actress as well as an incomparable singer. I also met her in the lift (not knowing who she was) and can attest she's also fun joking in a lift!
My Favorite Actress, hands down.
Even Renée's hubby was teary eyed.

No sleight intended - but the speech made me think of Dame Olivia Newton- John and her emotive and bell time voice that crossed over genres as a pioneer- 100 million+ albums sold, five number one billboard hits- and the number one singoe of the 1980s ( the decade!) …. Not to mention the highest grossing musical of all time/my generation- ON-J’s philanthropic heart as a singer raised funds that created the OLIVIA NEWTON- JOHN CANCER WELLNESS & RESEARCH CENTER in Melbourne Australia and established the Olivia Newton-John Foundation advocating kinder cures for cancer and studies offering the benefit of marijuana and plant based medicines for pain management and palliative care. Congratulations to all honored. I wish Olivia was still here to sing and honor her mate Sir Barry Gibb this year too… and wish Kennedy Center Honors had realized she was the one that we wanted honored too.
I have absolutely nothing against Queen Latifa, she seems like a very nice lady.
But howe come that she got the Kenndey center honor before Sigourney Weaver?
also before Liza Minnelli AND Johnny Mathis??? Bonnie Raitt. Denzel. Jessica Lange, Bob Newhart. EMMYLOU HARRIS, Diane Keaton, EDDIE MURPHY, etc. It's criminal that LL Cool J and Latifah have been honored before these people.
