Oud Wood is so overrated, had a 30ml given as a present, was so excited and so underwhelmed when I sprayed it first, tried for 10 whole ml to like it, didn’t happen, really nothing, no spice, no oud, no aromatics, it’s nothing, and for that insane price it’s totally 👎🏻
I love Oud wood, almost finished my 100 ml bottle in less than a year. I need to try the new Oud wood parfum. Though I also love creed Royal Oud too :)
Its always subjective, most people like it, some don’t. For those in the Trump country (US) who want to purchase this fragrance, its on sale at Costco: 1.7 oz is $100 and 3.3 oz is $170
Oud Wood was so rich and longlasting when it first came out. After so many reformulations over the years, it's now a shell of it's former self. Heavily diluted.
Never had the pleasure of trying the real thing but I had a similar reaction to a clone and assumed that the clone was the problem...although the clone is quite popular as well.
Oud Wood is a weird one. I loved it on first sniff, but not for any particular note, and certainly not for an authentic oud scent - for me it was the experience of the cool steel kitchen counter of a clean modern house or the exhilarating intake of frigid air when you've been in a warm and humid place. This is what a supervillain would smell like as he coolly orders his henchmen to dispose of Mr. Bond.
I have never understood how Oud Wood and Grey Vetiver get all the hype they get. I think Tom Ford could put his name on a Dirty Diaper and some would stand in line for it.
If it smells like rubber, your nose is not ready yet :D , it's a great smell, no oud that's right, also not boozy, it's a milky woody smell, I think there is some coconut oil in there, it's an 8/10 for me, and I'm very picky
I just applied my first spray and immediately went online to check Wth is this this is not what i expected at all dont wvwn know if i would say rubbery but it for sure aint anything good

Oh, I love honest reactions. I love when people have critical mindset. Because I’m tired of praised mediocrity or worse then mediocrity.
Like i said, i will give it time but initial reaction was less than satisfactory

"Tom Ford" will never leave my mouth again. From here on out, it's Tony Ferd.
Give it some time... It becomes soft, sweet, woody. I find it very elegant. No real oud, you are right.

In 2007 this was groundbreaking, right now it’s sort of generic. There are a few alternatives that are richer and more complex with a similar vibe.
Mans talking fax
lol im not a fan of it either
Great review mate. When are you going to do Beau de Jour? Would love to hear your take on that one.
BDJ is next up!
That must have been the funniest Oud Wood review / first impression I've ever came across 😂😂 And actually I do agree. I never got the hype of this one
Glad you enjoyed it!
Oud Wood was so rich and longlasting when it first came out. After so many reformulations over the years, it's now a shell of it's former self. Heavily diluted.
Seems to be the way of most fragrances, maybe I can find a decant of an older batch to test one day and smell for myself.
@@RaffiDiranBassclef try carved oud, similar profile but much longer lasting with higher quality ingredients.

Yep, sometimes it's just the scent itself

Not a fan ither 😂 only top Ford private blend I like is white suade which really dosent last that long but has a beautiful fragrence while it lasts.
This smells beautiful 👌
Smells like a dank cupboard

Grey Vetiver is good for what it is, daily gentle office scent, just pleasant and nothing special, and that’s what it’s supposed to be
Grey vetiver is amazing
Nishane Kredo and Thameen Craved Oud have better direction of the same kind woody notes

Been wearing it a few times now and it's mellowing out. I only got the really rubbery thing on the first time

@@matteobrunni2677 Your nose needs a bit time, it doesn't smell like it smells now to you, try it from time to time, sniffing the sprayer is also okay
