Never had the 2017 but I had a 10ml decant that I wanted to test around 2022, the more I wore it the more I liked it. I loved that it forced me to fall in love with it. It's like refreshing iced tea with woody unsweetened cinnamon bark, some sea moss. I have a ton of sweet freshie's but this is a dry take on a fresh fragrance. I appreciate the 'Art' of fragrance and this is abstract fragrance that not everyone is going to appreciate....which I love about it. Got a full 100ml of the 2024 in the UK with 20% off
Let's think of it this way- as the waves recede and the sands below get exposed to the sun, we can see a box of treasure buried in the sand peaking out! That's exactly what this perfume is, after the top notes recede we get the base woody base notes. I think the sweet woody base notes deserve the spotlight and hence the color of the bottle is representation of the base note (light oud).
I just tried the latest version yesterday at Sephora and enjoyed it enough I am going to buy a bottle of it. The performance was outstanding. It was still going strong the next morning.
I like the new one, I bought it just for the collection but now is my favorite for this change of season winter almost spring. I wish a new TOM FORD for men but with best performance. Greetings from Mexico.
I tried this and i thought its the worst thing i smelled. Then kept trying everytime I'm in the airport, just because it was so odd. Probably a year later it was on my buy list. I got it as a gift today and I am thrilled to wear it.
by doing this exact video, you've read my mind, Sebastian. thank you! i own and enjoy the original and now i'll be buying the new version to enjoy as well.
When I first smelled it, it reminded me of walking into the sea and aquatic animal section of a zoo. Just salty moisture in the air with that weird animal or musky cave smell? But it intrigued me. Now a few weeks later I can’t forget about that smell and I go back to the store to smell it again and I really enjoy it.
Oud Mineral is one of the best perfum I ever smell a love for my I only have the original I gave it to my husband seven years ago. I remember that smell like my skin coming out from the ocean of Carpinteria California is so sensuall 🌊😌♥️
Sebastian, I smelled this last week on paper and I kept being reminded of Encre Noire Sport... Thoughts? I did look around in reviews and Fragrantica and nobody is making that association. I may be way off base but if so I'll blame the paper strip... 😊
Love love love Oud Minérale (latest version, bever had the old one), this is a "sun appearance right after the sea storm" scent in a bottle. It has to be smelled in the air to be appreciated. I don't get any "fish/grease" smell.
I have always loved Oud Minerale since the beginning. I do have a friend that always comments that it smells like machinery oil. I’m excited about trying the new signature bottle.
I agree 100% I first smelled it and was convinced that the only occasion I could wear this was at a sushi restaurant. It was confusing. But in all fairness, I also first tried it in my truck, in the winter, in -34c weather. But I kept it and because I found the scent so curious, I kept trying it and now I love it. I also think that the color of the bottle represents the mineral aspect of the fragrance, not the marine
I'm curious to test this to see if I pick up what you are picking up. I don't like the sound of it though. I'm a big fan of Tom Ford fragz but never clicked with Oud Minerale. I doubt I'll click with this new version as well.
The 2024 is fire! I first sprayed this a month ago and was less than impressed. I tried it again a few days ago and was taken back…hey this is actually not bad. After week of using it the fragrance has settled and got better. Btw I was the same with Ombré leather… now can’t get enough
As an Oud Wood wearer, seeing all these reactions has me knowing I need to get this, even though I didn't know it existed. Guess it's time for a trip to the store
I may be wrong but I believe there are 3 versions of this, no? The Private Blend in the black clear bottle like you have here, Sebastian, which was the first formulation. Unfortunately, it (i read) had a carcinogenic ingredient, though, so it was discontinued. Then, the Resort Collection came out in the smoky, frosted grey bottle, which did not have the carcinogenic ingredient but ultimately was discontinued. This is the only version I have smelled, and I ABSOLUTELY ADORE it. It is so fresh, marine, salty, woody, yet clean and super long lasting - beautiful stuff and reminds me of skinny dipping in the ocean then laying on the sand. And now, this new 2024 version. Can anyone confirm this information? I've read a lot about this fragrance because I again, adore the version in the smoky, frosted grey bottle, but I'm just curious if anyone knows if this info is correct?? Have a great day Sebastian!
Previous resort edition is an all time favourite. Very happy to see it back, though I do feel like it has a slightly softer tone and I've found from test sprays on skin that it's not stuck around as long as the resort edition. That said, very happy it's generally available again and I can see myself picking up a 100ml and using that while keeping the previous bottle back for special occasions.
I never understood the brown bottle when its a marine frag, but looking at the ads they seem to be referencing sunshine on wet sand with the colour so i guess it makes sense.
A fragrance I absolutely hated at first was Prada Luna Rossa Black. Hated that sweet but yet so spice powdery notes, smelt like an old basement for me at first. Then suddenly I saw it in a store, gave it another try and instantly fell in love. To this day one of my favorite designers of all time
Yes it was a signature at Ulta for a while back in like 2021 I think. That’s how I got my bottle. It was the “resort” collection slightly opaque private blend bottle. It came out with the aquas
Hi Sebastian, great video. It is good fragrance and i do agree. New version is very oily and performing way better than old version. It is in the same price range as megamare, but megamare is way way better imo
Love it ❤. I have 100 ml of the Prívate Blend. I don't understand the color of the new bottle 🤷🏻♂️. It transports me to my childhood playing on the beach with the sand.
Thanks for putting this out. When I saw this being released, I was very curious. I almost went ahead and blind bought it. Glad I didnt, because it looks like I could not like it. H24 Herbes vives was another that had my interest piqued.
I have this and really like it. It does remind me of hot holidays, almost a sun cream smell to it but far more stronger than a lot of the other "sun cream" type scents. I also really, really love Kenzo Marine so maybe I'm a weirdo.
Oud Minerale, 2017- rancid, rotting seaweed! Oud Minerale, 2024- 13:13 rough seas with oil spillage! There's a toss-up to this?? When it first came out, I was intrigued and excited but my first impression to the fragrance was, it's horrible! Now, it doesn't seem to be any more appealing than the first version- but I'll try a sample just to get it out of my head..
Hey I have the OG Oud Minerale. I luv the uniqueness of the marine smell, but it's an acquired taste. And I'm shocked they're bringing this one back. I have a 95% full 3.4 oz bottle, so no need to purchase this. But I did sample it. It does smell simular to the OG. I would luv for them too bring back Plum Japonais. Also the Private Blend Les Extraits Vert collection. I have Vert D'Encens, OMG Sebastian, it smells like Heaven! And I heard the other 3 smell great too.
I love the original and always have, I’m unsure why it was so hated. It was always a compliment getter for me too. It is very strong initially though so be careful. It was an ulta exclusive in the frosted looking bottle for a year or two. Oiliness? I don’t get that at all but the older version is definitely more green, sharp and herbal and the new is a bit more synthetic but round almost creamier.
I don't find it as fishy as you do, to me the mineral marine notes are more prominent, it's a weird fragrance but I like it, I find it really comforting in very hot weather but I don't use it very often. My favorite and most used TF fragrances are Tobacco Oud, Ombré Leather and Black Orchid Parfum, I'm really not interested in this new one, I have 2 bottles of the OG, I like the new bottle though but it doesn't represent the smell IMO. Thanks for the review Sebastian!!!
With the marine/aqua notes I thought this would be pretty unpleasant. It’s ok though. I get no ‘greasiness’, more a smoky slightly spicy vibe going on. I do enjoy all your videos by the way 👍🏻
Sebastian, maybe you need to wear Dawn with the Signature Oud Minérale 😂 Dawn takes grease out of your way! But seriously, thanks for the review. I haven't smelled this fragrance unfortunately or perhaps fortunately 😉 I personally can't stand the smell of sulfur. It's the one thing that I don't like about going to the beach...the sulfur in the water if it's not filtered properly 😝
I would love for Shanghai Lily to return to the signature line. Sebastian, I think it time to do another Rumor Mill video for Tom Ford!! 🤭🤭🤭 You also alluded in another video about something coming from Tom Ford can you elaborate on that?
It smells like new Pennie’s in a good way to me I think the bottle matches. The marine is barely a thing to my nose, I have it on my arm as I type this
I love the Private Blend, smells like a smokey, peaty, islay whisky. Really well done! Something to wear maybe 3-4times a year, but in those fitting moments i cant think of anything better. Im from the north of Germany, near Hamburg, it reminds me just of a rainy, stormy day at the harbour. The dirty, rough water, the smell of oil, seewater. You know that grey, greenisch rough, harbour sea weather, exactly the smell. Know imagine, stormy, rainy day, you know those day with those endday aura, you go to ab pub in the evening with the boys, nothing will make such an Impression like this one! The one on the other hand is boring to me, the shark has lost his fin 😢its tamed, the thing that some adore and some dislike, they almost get rid of it. But that gave that scent its authenticity! And yes its more blue now in the opening to me, like Mineral oud aqua, after that it turns smokey with this typical TF dna, and loses its magic minute by minute 🥲 But this Dna is one of the few aquatics that works better in colder than warmer climate.
The only perfume that I hate and that am trying to love is your favorite perfume from Jovoy Psychedelique, and the only reason that am trying to like it is that you talk so much about it in a beautiful way and since I approve nearly all your choices, am trying hard to like this one… it’s causing me an issue this fragrance 😂
I own Oud Minerale. It is too salty, and I can't bring myself to enjoy it. I keep going back, hoping my thoughts will change on it, but that has yet to happen (it's been 4 years).
The new version is waste of money in my opinion and doesn't last on your skin for 10 seconds. I prefer the old one but unfortunately it's discontinued in canada . I used to buy it regularly from Dubai, Bangkok and Malaysia.
I also have heard the old version had an ingredient that caused cancer. So be warned. In fact there might be a comment on this video that mentions this.
I’ve heard the retail bottles do not smell like the recent samples they’ve provided. It’s made me scared to buy it! Your description of being greasy and unpleasant on first spray, is what I’m hearing and not at all what I got from the sample from Macys. 😢

Enjoying your reviews! You are keeping me educated and up to date!
Thank you. Welcome to my channel! :)
This was love at first sniff for me. Only smelt 2024 version . Look forward to this review
I love Oud Minerale, in fact it ended up being my wedding fragrance, so I was very pleased to see it move into the Signature Collection.
I came across the copper bottle the other day & really liked it!
Got a full 100ml of the 2024 in the UK with 20% off
One of my favourites of all time

Oud drives me crazy. I love Tom Ford's tobacco oud, now I'm curious about the oud minerale. Thanks for the review!

I enjoyed Oud Minerale quite a bit. Great reviews, love your content!
Thank you.
I so appreciate everything you do Sebastian you have such a way and you know it of talking about Fragrance. Love watching every upload
Thank you very much! :)
Loved the previous version! Saw it suddenly in a perfume store the other day but had no time to try it. Must try it asap!
by doing this exact video, you've read my mind, Sebastian. thank you! i own and enjoy the original and now i'll be buying the new version to enjoy as well.
I don't remember seeing or trying the original. Will check this one out.
Love this fragrance. Own the 2017 bottle and the new one. Smells exactly the same. Maybe the 2017 is a little bit thicker becouse it has aged longer.
Aging does alot to perfume potency. Ive noticed. All my older perfumes are stronger. And for most of them i do not think it has to do with batches
A fav for years - one of his best. Love the dry down - glad its less exspensive now
Best fragrance ever for me. My signature. I am talking for private blend, i have to try signature line.
Love layering the Private Blend with some white ambergris underneath, intensifies the fragrance and ups the marine vibe & adds some dirtiness
Oud Mineral is one of the best perfum I ever smell a love for my I only have the original I gave it to my husband seven years ago. I remember that smell like my skin coming out from the ocean of Carpinteria California is so sensuall 🌊😌♥️

This is the best fragrance on my husband. He gets so many compliments
Oud minerale, smells like the sea shore, with sea weed and drift wood. It’s perfect.
I'm curious to test this to see if I pick up what you are picking up. I don't like the sound of it though. I'm a big fan of Tom Ford fragz but never clicked with Oud Minerale. I doubt I'll click with this new version as well.

U like both ombre leather and oud minerale? Can u give review+comparison for both
I just got this and the minute I sprayed it.. i loved it. I live in Fl and its always hot and humid and this is a perfect South Florida fragrance
Thanks for sharing!
Neroli portofino would be an obvious choice to move into the signature line
As an Oud Wood wearer, seeing all these reactions has me knowing I need to get this, even though I didn't know it existed. Guess it's time for a trip to the store
I haven't found the original to test yet. A few weeks ago I tested the Oud Minerale 2024 on my skin and it was amazing!

OMG carcinogenic ingredient. Yeesh.
Someone once said that the OG "was basically nuked off the shelves". I have always been so curious???
Yes I do think there were three versions.
The second version is the one we see in the preview of the vid ?
God I would kill for Plum Japonais to come back
YES
If they did they’d probably bring it back as part of the private reserve collection & charge you $1000 for it !
Do you think the difference in scent is due to fragrance maturation?
Oud Mineral is a nice fragrance. It settles well and has strong sillage. And it'd not all over. Not a lot of users.
Would be great to know what is the decision making behind moving from the private blend to the signature line ?
Previous resort edition is an all time favourite. You should do a review for Tom Ford Azure Lime, couldnt find one on the channel
I have the original so maybe I should.

Def grows on you, was my sotd I think they smell identical
Just out of interest Sebastian, have you tried the new Chanel Fragrance called Comete. Would like to hear your thoughts on it.
I enjoyed the original but haven't tested the new. I have plenty of the original though. Do I need more from the signature line?
Probably not.
I have this and really like it. It does remind me of hot holidays, almost a sun cream smell to it but far more stronger than a lot of the other "sun cream" type scents. I also really, really love Kenzo Marine so maybe I'm a weirdo.

You welcome keep up the good work and thank you very much GOD BLESS 🙏
Holy shit I cherished my old private blend bottle now I can go nuts assuming the new one is similar
I don't find it as fishy as you do, to me the mineral marine notes are more prominent, it's a weird fragrance but I like it, I find it really comforting in very hot weather but I don't use it very often. I am also not a fan of mineral fragrances, one of the very few I actually like would be Aqua Amara, especially it's spillage is so alluring
Sebastian, maybe you need to wear Dawn with the Signature Oud Minérale 😂 Dawn takes grease out of your way!
But seriously, thanks for the review. I haven't smelled this fragrance unfortunately or perhaps fortunately 😉
I personally can't stand the smell of sulfur. It's the one thing that I don't like about going to the beach...the sulfur in the water if it's not filtered properly 😝
Yes they did the right thing
What season do you recommend the 2024 oud mineral?
Summer
I love it.(The original )I don't smell fish at all. I smell salt air and cedar.
I would love for Shanghai Lily to return to the signature line.
Sebastian, I think it time to do another Rumor Mill video for Tom Ford!! 🤭🤭🤭
You also alluded in another video about something coming from Tom Ford can you elaborate on that?
Did you just spray both of the new version?
Are there two versions of the new version?
@ThePerfumeGuy, go back to video because i could have sworn you said that the 0.3 sample size that you sprayed on your right wrist was new as well.
I have the Ulta exclusive version. It's identical to the OG but in a translucent grey bottle and cheaper!
I wish I saw an image of the original bottle.
@@ThePerfumeGuythey put it in the frosted bottle like they did with ‘Eau de Jasmin Rouge’, ‘Eau de vert boheme’ & ‘Eau de soleil blanc’
I love the original but like you don't care for the new one. That's a bummer because I was looking forward to this release.
Eris Parfums -Belle de Jour has a seaweed note in it that makes it super challenging for me. Seaweed gives me metal sink vibes.
It smells like new Pennie’s in a good way to me
I think the bottle matches.
The marine is barely a thing to my nose, I have it on my arm as I type this

But this Dna is one of the few aquatics that works better in colder than warmer climate.
Jasmine Rouge would be another I would love in the Signature line. ❤❤
Oh, BTW, yes Plum Japonaise would be fantastic as a Signature line fragrance as well. ❤❤
It smells like copper to me and water and oud. Its nice. I get NO fishy smell at all or seaweed
It has to be your nose your PH when I sprayed the 2024 on my skin it smelled like leather and a little bit of aqua
Thought it smelled like seaweed at first then the complexity of it grew on me…you can definitely smell the oud on the dry down
i'm obsessed with Tom Ford perfumes...
Did you like this fragrance? I can't tell from your comment.
@@ThePerfumeGuydon't enjoy marine scents but love Tom Ford scents.
I bought a 250 ml oud minerale for 260 euros in Europe last summer . The same price to plum japonais but sol out 😢
WOW such a good deal!! :)
Sebastian please try acqua di parma colonia Mirra it's a good one .
That opening got me , it was medicinal and was just like Le Labu patchouli 24 .
I own Oud Minerale. It is too salty, and I can't bring myself to enjoy it. I keep going back, hoping my thoughts will change on it, but that has yet to happen (it's been 4 years).

@@ThePerfumeGuy 😱 cancer !
I never tried the original but have smelled the new one. It’s just not for me.
Ha yes there we go.
I wish they hadn’t discontinued noir anthracite, man I loved that fragrance.
I’m very hit or miss on marine scents, and like you found the original a bit much. 40 Knots however - yes, yes, yes
Oh I need to try 40 Knots.
Would love to have oud wood as signature.
I’m absolutely pissed they changed the formula. I wish I could find the original somewhere!
From what I heard there was something carcinogenic in the original formula. Go figure this out?
I don't like this fragrance. Is 2024 less marine?
It's similar but with a greasy smell.
I'm not a fan of this one but the new bottle is gorgeous
Baccarat Rouge 540 was the scent that grew on me.
I wish they relaunched Oud Fleur.
OOh. I remember that it launched with Tobacco Oud.
Lover of the type!
I don't think I've EVER seen Tom Ford at my local Ultas, let alone Oud Minerale
The way you described this one makes my stomach turn 😮I kinda wanna smell it just to confirm it’s really that bad
Love marine fragrances.
I’ve heard the retail bottles do not smell like the recent samples they’ve provided. It’s made me scared to buy it! Your description of being greasy and unpleasant on first spray, is what I’m hearing and not at all what I got from the sample from Macys. 😢
I bought mine in a perfume shop in Paris.
I think the color is to go for Rusty metal
They oiliness is what I love about the new formulation. I actually dislike the old version.
I think I can speak for all of us Tom Ford lovers by saying we ALL want Amber Absolute in the signature line
