Ironically I visited BMW Warwick last year to view a K1600. From the moment I walked through the door I got the feeling I was an inconvenience to them. Suffice to say I voted with my feet.
I agree with your sentiments but you can't be that mad for the bike if you are wanting totally rid with no right to repair or replace. Big, bland, fast and an expensive money pit, and you could get a nice 1250GS and trouser 12k. What was your Ross Rides score?
Minor issues compared to Yamaha...brand new Tracer 900,heading from Glasgow to the Bol d'Or,Dublin, outside lane,75mph,high pressure fuel line pops out the tank, being diesel mechanically minded,i knew exactly what it was(could have killed others),power instantly off,try cross 4 lanes with no power, clutch pulled in! Fast forward to the Tracer7 replacement...engine went at 4900mls(big ends),Yamaha took the engine last August, letter sent to them in October, now January, still not a squeak from them, zero communication, library tomorrow, last letter before the lawyers get involved...done with Yamaha, been with them since a kid,Uncle stuck one on the podium in the World Champs at the TT Races in the early 1970's,shocking quality/customer service...tempted to buy a KTM,more reliable?
I think you are right to stick by your principals and convictions . I own a K1600 and find it a fantastic bike , it would appear you got a, "Friday afternoon bike" , off the assembly line which is not like the Germans, saying that I had a KTM "Friday bike" years back a pain in the arse taking it back and forward to the dealer, a trip of an hour and a half.
Ross. We’ve disagreed on two previous occasions, but if I may here is my take on this predicament. I totally and utterly understand your stance on being enraged at being sold a £24,000 faulted motorcycle. You have every right to complain about perceived minor faults on a bike that when brand new shouldn’t have any. Your intention to reject the motorcycle and require recompense will be met with utter indifference by BMW. I know this from past experience with Vauxhall. They will state that they have a right in consumer law to have a period of time to fix these faults and unless times have changed that is what they will do. Therefore they will fix the faults and return the motorcycle to you forthwith. Here lies the problem. You state you don’t want the motorcycle back as its purchase has been sullied. They will not take that motorcycle back just because you feel slighted as it’s now deemed to be second hand and will already have lost money from new. Crazy I know because you’ve hardly had your arse on the seat for an hour or so. I don’t know whether you can regain your love for the bike but I believe the solution lies with your supplying dealership. You have bought thousands of pounds worth of vehicles from them. They should and must value you as one of their star customers. We shall see how your current stance dictates their future mood towards you. Considering your history with them I suggest you put forward a new deal whereby you offer to trade that motorcycle back to them, get a new bike of your choice and negotiate either cash back , with them taking the hit, or making arrangements for free servicing, tyres and the like up to a monetary difference between the two motorcycles. The one thing I would suggest is, and I’m sure you won’t, is the longer it takes the more money you’ll lose with it sitting with the issue unresolved. That ain’t gonna help your state of mind so I hope you secure a quick fix and let’s see how good your BMW salesman who you’ve videoed buying lots of bikes from really is! Best of luck.
Thank you for your very considered message. As I said at the end, the cards will land where they fall. I too am intrigued to see how this plays out. ‘We choose to go to the Moon. We choose to go to the Moon... We choose to go to the Moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard; because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one we intend to win, and the others, too.’ - John K Kennedy
@@RRGS78Short changed us there too...the Moon Buggy never left Earth...welded Willis jeep chassis,4 cylinder petrol engine, with garden chairs and an upside down umbrella... can even see the set wall/background where it does the turn...not even made to look believable!
At the end of the day, whether commenters think the faults you had are trivial or not, the fact remains a £24k motorcycle shouldn't have had them, I would think you are disappointed more than anything, I know I would be.
I still believe this is a dealership issue, it's a PDI problem. Personally I'm a lazy fecker and couldn't be arsed with the hassle, I'd just have them sort the problem and move on. Look forward to the updates.
I’ve always thought that them most important measure of a business is how well they look after you when things go wrong..
Thank you for your comment! I’m about to post a resolution update!
Would be great if you’d subscribe

Best way to vote! Unless voting means subscribing to my channel!
I'm sorry your going through this. I don't care how minor others may think, this is a bmw 24k bike that should have no issues right off the lot.
Thank you sir.
It would be appreciated if you considered subscribing
You are right to pursue this. Buying a ‘quality’ product like this, it is not acceptable.
Thank you sir
Fair play to you for explaining, I hope they replace for a new one if that's what you want.
Thank you.
Not sure if you’re a subscriber but it would be great if you’d consider it

If the KTM is more reliable that's the real shocker...

Look on the bright side digger, I once had the misfortune to buy a 'Friday afternoon' Bentley. It almost bankrupt me.
