I have used the SDOC 100 for years now, it is expensive so I tend to buy it when on discount. Spray it on, it's a gel and leave for 5 minutes and wash off works great.

Sounds great. Suspect you're going to find it more mentally tiring than you think even with the days off breaks, and based on my experience of touring on bikes im not sure about some of your timings unless youre thrashing the motorways which won't be fun. PS im probably an old duffer but please can you tone down your intro music a bit, it's way too loud, you might even get a few more subscribers!

I have no comment to make about this trip, I do however wonder what you do for work ?

Seat:- I used a local company, caulfield leather, to make a custom seat on a oem BMW base. The results were brilliant. Extra height, padding where I wanted it, gel and the finish I wanted. So good I got 2. One red and one black. On an urban GS I had the red for Sunday best. Think about that route. Lots of choices in material, style and content.

I still think you were being a dick, your words. Anything that is mechanical can go wrong. These were minor issues that you should have diverted your positive energy into getting fixed and understanding that things can go wrong. None of these issues were dangerous and were very minor. With your platform on UA-cam what else could the dealer have done. I think this is a pathetic story and I hope your dealer charges you a premium if you buy another BMW as you deserve it.

Firstly, you had the front wheel pointing in the wrong direction 🙄 secondly, as someone who has owned two SAS 1290's and done over 2000 miles fairly recently on the 900GS, I can't understand how you couldn't fit on the 1290 but I suspect my first line answers that 🤦‍♂

Why didn’t Fed check air ways and filter

I had the 22-plate SAR with the ball bag tank, which was a hoot throttle wide open but half the parts were made out of monkey metal, dealer support was next to none when something went wrong and after 4 different seats from the parts catalog I had fallen out of love and it had to go. Shame about all the stuff as the thing was a rocket and loved the look.

Ross, fair play for sticking to your principles. Personally I feel we put up with too much of “oh it’ll do” not just in biking but with other aspects of life. Btw, Happy New Year and I hope your channel grows from strength to strength.

Nice try. this lad has no sense of the design particulars and its intended market. Decent fellow, but he clearly lacks understanding of the bikes intended use or rider. Go get your adventure bike. You might be surprised tha an adventure bike does not suit everyone. Do yourself a favor and stick with you heavy, tall cumbersone adventrue bike. Enjoy!

Different thing but I’m on my second large capacity BMW and there won’t be a third ( will probably go triumph ) as take last year as an example , serviced the bike Oct 2023 at 7800miles but didn’t use it much , heated garage , bmw battery conditioner plugged in , the bike sleeps … then October the 19th 2024 the bike dash declares an emergency and SERVICE DUE !!!! … but I’d only actually done 700 miles since the last service with odometer reading 8540 miles 🤷🏻‍♂️ Quick call to my local motorrad dealer and we can’t reset it without actually servicing it I’m afraid …. So in other words irrespective of use BMW demand at ransom you service your bike at not an insignificant price EVERY YEAR at a BMW dealership irrespective of what use the bike has had …. Obviously BMW will argue they know better than myself as all I know is that I’m a cash cow … but what I do understand is I can take my custom elsewhere as I won’t be held prisoner over a flashing dash warning light only Berlin can control . You never actually own a BMW … you simply pay for the use … Question to dealer ‘ so if I purchased a new S1000XR in the new year and did same mileage you would demand it serviced every 700 miles or my warranty would become void ? A question he didn’t want to answer , he could see my logic but he also knows bmw company policy 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️bye bye BMW

A pity you lost confidence in the K1600 they are good bikes if a little heavy to move around when you're off it, took mine out of the garage to get to something this morning and nearly dropped it.😳 It matters not what bike you ride but the fact that you do.✌

That's good news, but then again I don't suppose they had much choice. I would imagine BMW motorrad will make up the shortfall as it's now a second hand bike.

Although this is not a big channel I suspect the fact that you have detailed this issue publicly has had a strong influence upon the dealers taking the bike back. I think had you not detailed things via here, you may not have had such a quick resolution, it's all good.

I agree with your sentiments but you can't be that mad for the bike if you are wanting totally rid with no right to repair or replace. Big, bland, fast and an expensive money pit, and you could get a nice 1250GS and trouser 12k. What was your Ross Rides score?

I'm sorry your going through this. I don't care how minor others may think, this is a bmw 24k bike that should have no issues right off the lot.
