Beautiful Job, I have a Black Les Paul Custom from the down years of manufacturing when they would sell seconds, Usually because of cosmetic flaws, mine no doubt has some and It has "Second" Stamped into the back of the headstock right after the transition from the neck. Little Factoid , Back In Black was supposedly recorded playing a Gibson SG "Second" by Angus Young. I'm probably like the 5th owner and over the lifetime its received some mods and at once must have had a Bigsby Tremolo Installed as it has tiny screw holes left over from when it was removed and returned back to using a standard bridge. You have given me the courage to take on the challenge of taking it back to maybe even better than it was originally from Gibson, the only struggle I see is not having the large buffer wheel, so I may have to figure out something else that will be a compromise of that, If I was going to do a lot of these I would invest, but this is a one off. Thanks for Sharing your obvious years of experience in this video.

I used to have a '75 LP Custom I got new. Back then people would pick out the heaviest guitar because it was believed to improve sustain.
One guy mentiond that it was a very lkng process. I'm m thinking that flashcoat quickend things up an awfull lot though. Basically its waiting for the paint to dry that might be trying. Very nice.

Is it possible to cut out a section of a guitar finish that was damaged and repaired haphazardly and then to tape it off, fill with the appropriate finish? I want to preserve the marvelous les paul contour but dont want to strip all of the finish.
Anything is possible I suppose. Make sure you hire a finish repair guru!
