Looks great, like the “stinger” idea on the break, never have seen that. I too have a studio cat, an old Tom that loves to hang with me as I play and record. He can be very vocal at times! Good job!
APOLOGIES: Regrettably the file size on this monster vid crashed my editing software real good! It was done 2 days ago but multiple renderings crashed and just this morning the final edit crashed and is corrupted! The only reason I didn't lose the whole shoot was an edit that was uploaded last night at random. Unfortunately this edit is a slightly lower bit rate and has some audio problems (1 or 2 momentary overlap/editing blips). Sorry about that. Didn't realize we'd be looking at 30 mns of footage. 😳 Good news is, got another one on the way promptly! Big thanks to Ramiro for convincing be to be unlazy and not just paint it black!
Man, how do you release refinishing videos smack dab in the middle of my refinishing projects. Happened with your Jag refin video too. Great timing. And great intro! Enthralling story-telling. I missed what kind of lacquer you used to fill in the headstock chips at the beginning. I have another guitar with an unsightly chip that I’m trying to stabilize and I feel like that process would help. Also, Elmer’s glue was used as grain filler? I’ve been using super glue and sawdust but Elmer’s seems like much less fuss. Man, what a finished product. Looks gorgeous. Did not expect the headstock’s checking to vanish the way it did. Love how you use a tp roll for your neck rest. I was thinking about buying one, but turns out I already have a dozen on hand😂
Lol, the tp roll is a really old habit! I remember asking my dad for a neck rest to work on when I was like 15 and he walked back in with a tp roll like 30 seconds later. I lucked out of the headstock chips and let the 400 roll the edge slightly. Took out nearly all! As far as the headstock clearing up the way it did.... I didn't think it would work that well! It almost did too good a job! As far as timing, great minds think alike!
Yea I totally get that. Playing out with a once broken is not confidence inspiring. I've been playing the John Monroe out alot lately. Twice broken 60 years old, when I walk the neck is straight in the air. One door jamb and two halves you'll have. But someone's gotta play with these gray haired broken in dogs. :)
I hate Oral B products . They are not full tubes you wind up pay ing for air. The electric toothbrush has always been considered ineffective. and worthless. What a waste of money
Love it. I’ve been thinking of putting a stinger on a Epiphone I have. So cool.
Very cool!
That came out rad man. Extremely cool and well done.
Thankya Sir!

Good job!
Gotta have a good studio cat/engineer!
Glad you dug it Mark!

You can count on me to dole out the occasional guilt trip😉
Lol, a guilt trip with a purpose. So glad you peer pressured me into a good choice!
Reminds me of a nice pool cue, I dig it!.
Cheers Keiran!
I like the cat at 28 minutes... like he's saying "Enough already... pay attention to me or I'm knockin' that thing back down"
Lol, Jameson (aka, The Boy) runs the place more than I do. I was editing and started spotting him jumping in all the shots!
Nice work sir!
Cheers Marcus!

This is very cool but I would buy a new one.
