    hi, your video turned out great! I’ve had the machine for less than a year and everything was fine, I adjusted the string tension, temperature and speed. all was good. But a couple of days, in places where the string passes simultaneously along the X-axis and the Y-axis, small waves are visible on the cut material due to the fact that the string vibrates. square shapes cut fine. but on rounded forms a problem appears. maybe you can tell me how to fix this?

      It partly my own fault for not getting onto a better schedule 🤦‍♂️ I keep playing on FB helping people instead of making videos to help even more people in the long run 🤷‍♂️

    So using pink foam for Halloween project what can this CNC do that my xcarve can't do? I know its cheaper but just seeing the pros and cons. Thanks

      Let's say you're making a silhouette bats, back cats, or even a gravestone that you'll just paint (or spray with a stencil) the front words on This would cut 2D about the same speed as the cnc cutting in a single pass, but workpiece holding is easier/faster to swap out materials, although the size as shipped is a little small for gravestones, doubling the length would take about $70 to double the length and height, price including longer wires.. (can you tell what my plans are yet?)
      Also, no foam dust to deal with, sure there's some fumes to either filter or extract, but no foam dust to collect and dispose of, or to cause static and trip off the cnc 😳
      From my research the way to make the most money from this machine is to make foam RC plane parts, but it would need some expansion to do larger models.

    Hi - I think they discontinued this cutter. Any idea where we can get a similar one? Might you have one for sale?

    • @SethCNC
      @SethCNC  Рік тому

      Oh interesting, I wasn't aware that its been discontinued. I do use mine from time to time, so I wouldn't be able to sell it at the moment. there are some DIY tutorials on creating one from scratch.

    Nice video! So how does one go from a CAD program like rhino with a 2D layout to gcode with appropriate feed rates in UGS?

    • @SethCNC
      @SethCNC  2 роки тому +1

      I used inkscape (free) to make the toolpaths.
      There's another software option called DevFoam available in multiple tiers including one that does 3d using .stl files but that's a paid program.

    Best to take down a deprecated machine/website link. I'm not sure what happened with FoxA, but sad to see they dropped this. I've already staged up a 1000mmx1000mmx1000mm caged Foam cutter myself and have been very happy with the results.
