[SPOILER ALERT DON'T READ THIS IF YOU HAVE NOT PLAYED THE GAME]
IS QUIET DEAD OR NOT - Here is my speculation.
ARGUMENTS SUPPORTING HER BEING ALIVE
After doing a bit of research I came across many hints that goes against the fact of her being dead. But also arguments that can lead to her having passed away after the final mission.
1) Quiet's lungs are destroyed. She breaths through her skin. After being set on fire, the parasites are what allows her to live meaning that she doesn't use her lungs. (But how does she speak?)
2) In an interview with Nojima, it was translated from one of the japanese websites by the users of reddit this.
Makime: Same as the game, Quiet’s episode in the novel was magnificent. The scene where she had waited for the right moment, and spoke in English during the sandstorm, was this work’s most emotional moment. In the book she dies in the end right? When I read that, and said “Ahh just as I thought”. There was probably no choice but…
Nojima: That was completely my own assumption. I read the scenario and I thought that was the only way…
Makime: I see. You wrote the manuscript before the game was complete so the way you perceived it was wrong.
Nojima: Afterwards, Kojima pointed out "She's not dead". "In the game it's not clear" he said. I thought, if that's the case you should have told me earlier! (laughs)
Makime: As expected, she's not dead! Well then, I want her to come back! (laughs)
Nojima: But, it's because she leaves that it's touches us emotionally. Because of the sense of loss of Quiet. However from the viewpoint of the game, it also leaves the feeling of whether or not the virus has taken effect.
ARGUMENTS SUPPORTING HER DEATH/DISAPPEARANCE
1) If her lungs are fine, and she speaks and the Vocal parasites are activated; and she DOESN'T DIE - then it would affect anyone nearby her. Thus, killing those nearby her and herself becoming a menace. Then this would explain why she leaves.
2) If the lungs are fine and she DOES DIE - then she goes into the desert and dies painfully.
3) OR... If the Parasites healed her, then her lungs would have efficiently been restored. Allowing her to use them and operate them at will when she speaks, otherwise she cannot speak if she does not have any lungs. That is basic anatomy. So, if they healed her, they would have restored her charred lungs. If not, the lungs would be inside of her and caused a large infection, but then again the parasites could have prevented that because it is unclear what they are capable of. If she can take a shell from tank and heal up, then most likely if the parasites at the vocal cords affect her lungs and eat her lungs up - then she would just end up not being able to speak, and thus remain alive. Considering that the parasites have starved and have nowhere else to go. Because that is how the parasite works, they target the lungs of the user and eats them up. But Quiet won't possibly have a need for them considering she has other parasites that lets her breathe. But, considering that she cannot speak anymore and her lungs are gone - would she still be capable of transmitting the disease? MGSV has us know that only through speaking, you can transmit it. If the parasites eat up her lungs, then they would starve afterwards and die. So, Quiet disappears until the parasites eat up her lungs, only to starve afterwards, and then returns being unable to speak, explaining the Reunion achievement which could have been a DLC for her return. Explaining why "Quiet" chooses to go back into "Silence" at the end. Maybe she knows what happens, maybe that explains why she chooses to go back to silence, by allowing the parasites to eat her lungs. Maybe that is what she also means, besides metaphorically stating her gratitude for him. And yet being unable to speak, considering that WE are the ones WHO ARE, Venom Snake... WE ARE Big Boss, we WERE the Medic at MGS:GZ - means that we can interpret anything how we want. Since VS before he became Big Boss has no backstory, WE ARE the backstory. That is the reason as to why VS is so silent, why Quiet is so quiet, because the director wants US, as the PLAYERS to interpret WHAT HAPPENS. WHAT Quiet FEELS. What she SAYS with her body language, how she takes care of you in the bathroom scene, and after leaving you and confessing her feelings. And considering that ME, as a player is capable of performing this kind of analysis, means that this is an interpretation of reality, the reality that we as the player sees in the game. And the fact that we can get her back into the game, is a possible theory that explains why she is not dead. As much as it can be argued for this being a gameplay mechanic, of her return, really? I think there is more than that. No.... I know, there is more than that. This is all an interpretation.
This could be the reason why VS succumbs to the Demon within before fighting off Solid Snake. After being used by Big Boss, and perhaps after the loss of Quiet - the only person that made him -feel- and forget that he was Big Boss, or just another Asset to be used for the purpose of war, was Quiet in the rain scene. And although you never see any REACTION from Venom Snake after the end, YOU are the reaction. YOU are what decides how VS feels. That is why it was left out. Venom Snake, my Venom Snake loved Quiet. He felt the Phantom Pain after this loss. Yet, he was so war-torn that he was incapable of revealing his feelings to her as well. That is why they shared such intimate moments in the rain, in the shower, at the end...
She gave him all the hints, but he was afraid of what would happen to him. Or her. Having lost so many men, so many people - Venom Snake has emotionally detached himself from a lot of people. (Like you see in the WW2 Generation War [SPOILER], how Wind's little brother becomes just a husk that sees all men in the battlefield as numbers, but not as people.[SPOILER END]) That he was a persona of Big Boss, and that the years of war from human and emotional interaction, has just left him to become a weapon. Through his condition believing he was Big Boss, destroyed him after finding out about the truth. With the disappearance of Quiet, Venom Snakes succumbs to the Demon within knowing he has gone so far off the charts that there is no going back, he has lost Quiet and as much as he knew that, he also knew no one could save him. He was just another tool in the war, for Big Boss. And although loyal to him, the revenge that he sought - it leaves us with a bittersweet ending at the end, knowing that the person he used to be, the merciful Big Boss in 1985, that preferred to take out his enemies with tranquilizers (If you went for the good guy rotue) was long lost, having been corrupted by this demon. Building Nukes, stealing Nukes, using child soldiers and becoming a villain. He knew that part of him still existed somewhere, but that part was no longer dominant. So, after realizing this - he goes into "the Abyss" (the Friedrich Nietzsche quote reference.), in order to meet his end. In order to die and find his peace, instead of seeing himself become more of a monster, unable to handle the phantom pain and grieving for what he has lost. That is my Venom Snake, and although Quiet might have survived - due to the hypothesis/scenarios from the analysis, the outcome could have been different, like an alternate ending as to showing that things could have been different, and that he and Quiet would over time, lay down their weapons as the two would no longer need it to fulfill desires for revenge. Venom Snake knows the truth, does not want to play a part in Big Bosses role and decides to disappear "into the mist" as shown at the truth ending, perhaps to abandon his mission. But I think there is a truth ending as well to it, a "canon" as you can say, our real gift from Kojima was the gift of allowing us to interpret what happens to our character. For me, there are many possibilities, but there is only one truth that I like, and that is the ones I have shown you, the lies that I believe in, hoping for them to be truths in order to accomplish my mission, as Solid Snake also believed, which was shown in one of the games...
But basically, there are more proofs that indicate Quiet is alive and have disappeared, only to return to Snake after the lungs are eaten, rather than having died.
I got, and still get somewhat the same feeling, not just for Quiet, but for the entire Metal Gear saga and all their incredible characters, as I was aproaching the game's last hours; that feeling being: "will this be the last time we ever see a Metal Gear?"
I Hope as the years pass, Hideo Kojima, someday, will find out of his heart, or out of the fans full of love hearts, the will to continue the saga. And if that day ever comes, yes, I think there is a good chance that Quiet would return too.
Be at ease man, she is alive, for sure :) . I just only hope the same could apply to the MG series.

I couldn't let her go I had to reunite with her it crush my soul when she left would love to get a dlc with her years later during outer heaven yrs like did she return to venom to show the love she had for him
I have a theory, one that may be the most plausible; after she left Venom Snake in the Afghan desert, she wandered for a while and took her own life to prevent the parasite from mutating and spreading any further. Kojima said things that may point to her being alive but, sadly, we'll probably never know. Quiet is my favorite character in MGSV and it breaks my heart that we'll probably never see her again..

There a thing on Google saying quiet joined foxhound and dyed her hair blonde but isn't wolf cause wolf in her 20s making quiet around her 40s what I am thinking is she had a kid with venom but chose to leave cause she didn't know how to tell him or something like that that is my theory
