when all that shit went Down with konami and kojima, I knew the game was gonna suffer, it wasn't a finished product, but for a game that wasn't a finished product, to still be amazing, and for the story to suffer as a result, as proof with the Liquid/mantis scene we saw, the game to still be so epic and emotion, kojima has got to be one of the true greats to ever be in the video game industry

They should redo mg1 and 2 in fox engine and make it to wear you have to build outer heaven like you did mother base with venom snake, and have the main story with other plots in it and conclude venoms story with Solid infiltrating outer heaven and have us play as solid and venom on both sides of the op intrude. Will be very cool to have hatter voice solid and kiefer voice Venom. Then mg2 should be the same thing but instead you buil Zanzibar land and you are the real big boss and you have another mini plot leading up to solid infiltrating and maybe some dialogue between Miller and big boss and again you play as both to finally conclude the series

I finally get it after completing the entire franchise, Mr. Hideo Kojima was trying to deliver a message, To Simply say, war is hell, stop fighting, stop killing, and make peace
I played mgs1 and mgs2 when I was kid and the messages Snake said went over my head. It wasn’t until I was older and came back to the series did I understand it. He had some really cheesy dialogue at times but his quotes about war and killing were always so profound and deep. The fact in the later games you got the tranquilizer and the stamina bar on bosses along with better rewards for non lethal runs really showed Kojima’s passion for peace. Killing is easy, but it’s harder and more rewarding not to and I feel that applies to the real world as well.
I return to youtube rewatching the cutscenes, if you think about it, that actualy is really sad, since some of my most anticipated moments are nowhere to be found in the game :[ I want to witness the first seconds of the Nuclear Trailer, the clip where Big Boss walks down the bloody hallway and I want to see HIS downfall!! The phantom pain is real and all I can think of is THEY PLAYED US LIKE A DAMN FIDDLE
Well most scenes from the trailers are in the game with the obvious exceptions being bloodied Big Boss looking out the helicopter before the coma, Venom walking through the burned down village, and Venom covered in blood standing in front of a wall of fire. The bloody hallway is in the game. Also we've seen his downfall in the games he has been in. Snake Eater ending with him learning the truth and being disillusioned with his government, Peace Walker him abandoning his country to form his own private army and building a nuclear equipped Metal Gear as a deterrent against nations, and TPP where he sets his plans in motion to take on Zero. Really when you think about it there was never a downfall for him cause he has always been trying to fight & kill Zero but because Zero controls information he painted Big Boss as an enemy, a fallen idol

All the little plot holes that remained in there could've been removed from the final product but Kojima left them in there. I admire the fact He wanted to refine his fox engine and create such awesome gameplay. But the story and characters of this game suffered for it. And that, to me, is a shame. Because I play metal gear games for the rich story and character development that it has been known for for over 2 decades. Not this watered down, M. Night Shyamalan twist of a game. What a poor game to go out on.
Juan Salinas an interesting observation I agree the story is not as strong as the others which is really shitty :/ but everything metal gear fans have wanted since the original mgs in terms of gameplay is now included the story in the other games had to be really strong. That said I remember playing MGS4 and never replaying it ever again cuz there was simply too much story cut scenes were at least 50% of that game if not more. It's nice to have a game that is still very much a stealth action game with all the little bells and whistles we wanted added on in a massive world with very few bugs to speak of I'm glad to have one last go at the metal gear series in my favourite era of it too always liked Big Boss (venom snake isn't big boss tho) and Miller and Younger Ocelot more than the characters based in the future. But still I agree the story could've been polished more unfortunately for us we live in a time were content creators seem to think its more creative to leave some questions unanswered and let fans make their own conclusions on how things turn out. Its "The Sopranos Effect"
+Juan Salinas man..you deserve a Medal, I though I was the only one that this game made feel disapointed, I meant yeah gameplay is great..but the characters feel empty, Ocelot who is a great character all series, in there feels like just some x support character..is the first and only Metal Gear that cant just hold me for hours, after some missions is like..great graphics.. nice gameplay..inexistent story....what Im doing here? venom Snake doesnt even feel like an "Snake" the never talk element makes him more an empty puppet than the always badass soldiers we have to control, even Raiden had a background and stuff that made him a whole character...instead of that Venom Snake is like your avatar and that doesnt really works on MGS, you cannot suddenly disappear Snake's identity and made him an empty shell because " we all are big boss" thats a poor excuse...games like dark souls that tells everything by its gameplay does know how to make what Kojima wanted to do with this MGS, but sadly doesnt work in this franchise..in dark souls even if youre an asshole the story is there wherever you are walking into..in this MGS is a collection of tapes that just..doesnt make you feel like youre engaging with it, story in an MGS shouldnt be optional, I meant if gameplay were so important for real, then Splinter cell has been fucking us the entire time? cause all the last times I checked Sam fisher could do a lot of more crap..my point is, this game should had be more focused of the franchise strong points, ..I didnt even criticized Rising..but this..oh man..is a good game..but feels like lost a lot of its Id

Kind of wish i just watched the MGS V trailers, never played the game and imagined for the rest of my life that it was full of awesome MGS cutscenes, a gripping story with tons of twists, boss fights etc that i never got to play
When you see in detail, the final final walk of snake, it's just pure Art. Snake in his stealth suit with flowers and butterflyes around him representing that he still a hero. Then corrupting with blood through his years of being boss of a guerrilla. Until ends in venom cover in blood and fire, that represents what snake has become until outer heaven in the first metal gear. Amazing goodbye from kojima with this trailer / game. 😢
Hideo Kojima needs to remake the first two Metal Gear games where Solid kills Venom and its sequel or at least give it a modern look to it. That'd put some money in Kojima's pocket.

Anyone think Big Boss is like Oda Nobunaga? I don't know much about him but the general idea I got was he wanted to unify the world through conquest which in away wasn't Big Boss the same at the end?
wait, does this suggest that venom survived the events of the original metal gear? shows him all disfigured and burned, and then it healed... and it's different then skullfaces burns. or is it perhaps the real big boss after the events of metal gear 2? when he's disfigured, it shows shrapnel in his head... when he's healed, the shrapnel is removed but there is a scar where the shrapnel should be. thats really a tough call.
It was a trick by Kojima to tell us that Venom will have hallucinations of skullface a lot, and that skullface after his death will become apart of venom

I have a theory on the ending of MGSV. Spoiler alert. Prepare to have your socks blown clean off. In the end of the game it is revealed that the person the player has played as throughout the whole game is not THE big boss, but is a copy of big boss. The medic from the helicopter crash in ground zeroes threw himself in front of big boss, losing an arm and getting a huge chunk of metal stuck in his head in the process. For reasons that are never fully explained he somehow gets hypnotized in to thinking that he is snake. But there are more than a few reasons why this ending doesn't hold any water. The first and most central to my argument is that the mission in which this is titled is called "the truth". It takes place in the hospital in the beginning of the game, and as it turns out the man who helps you (Ishmael) is the really big boss (AKA naked snake). The only problem with this is that after completing the first mission that takes place at the exact same place and time snake receives a cassette tape. The tape is titled "effects of snake's coma". In it revolver ocelot states that snake may experience hallucinations. Because these hallucinations are partly because of the coma and partly because of Big Boss' new "horn" it makes the whole mission at the hospital unreliable. We don't know if Big Boss was hallucinating or not. He hasn’t fully recovered from his coma and he even mentions this in the tape. So the way we figured out what’s what in the hospital is by determining what things crop up later in the game that took place in the hospital. If they show up later then the likely hood of them being hallucinations greatly decreases because the effects of snake's coma would have worn of by later portions of the game. Let me give you an example. Quite is burned by "Ishmael" when she tries to kill Big Boss. This is a plot point later when Quite tries to kill Big Boss again because she wants revenge for being burned (this is revealed after the mission were Quite leaves) by Big Boss. Quite can see. She isn’t called Blind for a reason. The only explanation for that is Big Boss burned her, not “Ishmael”. The only way that is possible is if Big Boss hallucinated “Ishmael” and actually burned Quite himself. We know it’s credible because it is proved again later in the game with Quite. We can now apply this to other things we find in the hospital missions. The man on fire and the third boy? They appear later in the game. Revolver Ocelot and D-Horse? Same deal. Who never ever appears later in the game? “Ishmael”. Now I know what you’re thinking. If “the truth” is a lie then why is it included in the game? Easy. It’s because as kojima was forced to finish the game quickly he had a lot of stuff finished. Content that took place after the killing of skull face. So, he needed a quick ending to the game. Something that wouldn’t cost a whole lot of money. So he repurposed the first mission to create a cheap ending. Now I know what else you’re thinking. “But this explains why Big Boss dies twice in metal gear one and two!” Well, yes it does. It would also explain why Big Boss is missing a horn in MGS4. But he’s also missing a horn in the first metal gear. So regardless of whether or not you believe this theory or not, that horn gets yanked out. As for Big Boss surviving his first encounter with his son? Well it’s reasonable to assume that he just survives. He is Big Boss after all. Even if he dies he could just get revived again. We know that this is possible because it happens to him later. Finally. The medic couldn’t have survived. End of story. The only reason why Big Boss lives is because the medic sacrifices himself to save Big Boss. There is no way the medic could have survived the explosion but even if he did Big Boss wouldn’t hide like that. He wouldn’t just run away and let someone else take the fall for him. Big Boss, Naked Snake, Venom Snake. They’re all one man. There is no body double, no phantom big boss. Big Boss would never run and hide. He can’t hide. Not from the phantom pain.

wait, does this suggest that venom survived the events of the original metal gear? shows him all disfigured and burned, and then it healed... and it's different then skullfaces burns. or is it perhaps the real big boss after the events of metal gear 2? when he's disfigured, it shows shrapnel in his head... when he's healed, the shrapnel is removed but there is a scar where the shrapnel should be. thats really a tough call.

I have a theory on the ending of MGSV. Spoiler alert. Prepare to have your socks blown clean off. In the end of the game it is revealed that the person the player has played as throughout the whole game is not THE big boss, but is a copy of big boss. The medic from the helicopter crash in ground zeroes threw himself in front of big boss, losing an arm and getting a huge chunk of metal stuck in his head in the process.
For reasons that are never fully explained he somehow gets hypnotized in to thinking that he is snake. But there are more than a few reasons why this ending doesn't hold any water. The first and most central to my argument is that the mission in which this is titled is called "the truth".
It takes place in the hospital in the beginning of the game, and as it turns out the man who helps you (Ishmael) is the really big boss (AKA naked snake). The only problem with this is that after completing the first mission that takes place at the exact same place and time snake receives a cassette tape. The tape is titled "effects of snake's coma". In it revolver ocelot states that snake may experience hallucinations. Because these hallucinations are partly because of the coma and partly because of Big Boss' new "horn" it makes the whole mission at the hospital unreliable. We don't know if Big Boss was hallucinating or not. He hasn’t fully recovered from his coma and he even mentions this in the tape. So the way we figured out what’s what in the hospital is by determining what things crop up later in the game that took place in the hospital. If they show up later then the likely hood of them being hallucinations greatly decreases because the effects of snake's coma would have worn of by later portions of the game.
Let me give you an example. Quite is burned by "Ishmael" when she tries to kill Big Boss. This is a plot point later when Quite tries to kill Big Boss again because she wants revenge for being burned (this is revealed after the mission were Quite leaves) by Big Boss. Quite can see. She isn’t called Blind for a reason. The only explanation for that is Big Boss burned her, not “Ishmael”. The only way that is possible is if Big Boss hallucinated “Ishmael” and actually burned Quite himself. We know it’s credible because it is proved again later in the game with Quite.
We can now apply this to other things we find in the hospital missions. The man on fire and the third boy? They appear later in the game. Revolver Ocelot and D-Horse? Same deal. Who never ever appears later in the game? “Ishmael”.
Now I know what you’re thinking. If “the truth” is a lie then why is it included in the game? Easy. It’s because as kojima was forced to finish the game quickly he had a lot of stuff finished. Content that took place after the killing of skull face. So, he needed a quick ending to the game. Something that wouldn’t cost a whole lot of money. So he repurposed the first mission to create a cheap ending.
Now I know what else you’re thinking. “But this explains why Big Boss dies twice in metal gear one and two!” Well, yes it does. It would also explain why Big Boss is missing a horn in MGS4. But he’s also missing a horn in the first metal gear. So regardless of whether or not you believe this theory or not, that horn gets yanked out. As for Big Boss surviving his first encounter with his son? Well it’s reasonable to assume that he just survives. He is Big Boss after all. Even if he dies he could just get revived again. We know that this is possible because it happens to him later.
Finally. The medic couldn’t have survived. End of story. The only reason why Big Boss lives is because the medic sacrifices himself to save Big Boss. There is no way the medic could have survived the explosion but even if he did Big Boss wouldn’t hide like that. He wouldn’t just run away and let someone else take the fall for him.
Big Boss, Naked Snake, Venom Snake. They’re all one man. There is no body double, no phantom big boss. Big Boss would never run and hide. He can’t hide. Not from the phantom pain.
