Oil change - 2019 Honda Odyssey

Changing the oil in a 2019 Honda Odyssey using the #maxjax. Damn it’s awesome. Follow along as I make a horrible mess.
5.2 quarts Mobil 1, 0w20
Mobil m1-110a oil filter
17mm socket for drain plug
LOTS of paper towels

Perfect - exactly what I needed! We're coming up on our first time having to change the oil since buying our 2019 Odyssey around this time last year. I've always tried to err toward trudging through it myself vs. taking it somewhere, so this video was reassuring and also helped give me some key areas to keep an eye out for in hopes of staying as tidy as possible. Plus, I had to grin when I saw you use the same oil and filter combo that I do. I'm sure "other" brands will work just fine, but Mobil 1 has never let me down. 💪

I’m glad it was helpful for you! Be careful on the mess it makes when you pull the filter, it gets all over the frame and drips for two days. It’s actually worth cutting up a cardboard box to jam up in there to deflect oil off the frame… and yeah, Mobil 1 & filter is what I run in 5 different cars and I always do my own changes!

Good to hear! I waited on an oil sale and picked up a bunch! Now I’m doing Mobil 1, with Mobil filter for $19

Why didn’t you fill the fliter with oil

Edwardo - It just makes more of a mess. The system is designed to purge all air so filling the filter is an unnecessary step.
