2012 130kmi and 2018 112kmi. No problems with engine and transmission. If you have glass coverage with insurance it covers the replacement and calibration.

I have a 2023 Odyssey EX-L that I bought in January of this year. It replaced my 2018 that I bought in 2018, it was an EX, last September a young kid ran a stop light and totalled it and it had over 28,000 miles on it. I had no problems whatsoever with it those 4 years. Just sayin.

If you're looking for reliability, moving to an Expedition is going to definitely be a step backwards. The reality is with all of the features on modern vehicles it only introduces more points of failures. It seems like you've had pretty minimal issues.

I just got rid of a 2020 Expedition with 60k miles that the transmission needed to be rebuilt. We purchased this Honda and so far love it. Any car is a perfect reliable car as long as you only keep it two years, which is all we need.

Our 2018 expedition max started having issues at 39k miles. The trans eventually was replaced at 90k miles. Took it to every dealer in town to try and fix our trans issues. It wasn’t till it finally gave out completely that they replaced it. But those 50k miles were full dealer trips and a bunch of hard shifts and regrets. Hate not buying my wife the odyssey instead. Fuel economy wasn’t the best either.

Thank you for your insight. I am in the same boat I am trying to convince my wife that we need a minivan we have 3 under 2 and a four-year-old. But I agree that toddlers are best in minivans and once they are older SUV will suffice. Good luck!

For that age group a van will be a home run! They are great to travel with and gas mileage is better than a suv. Thanks for taking the time to comment and for watching!

I've had both the 2012 odyessy and currently have a 2012 navigator L. Hands down the mini van has the most room for people, your things and is the easiest to get in and out of.
I moved from the odysey because of how it handled in winter here in Canada.
Because of my budget at the time i got the Lincoln for a decent price. If i had the money i would have gone for the sienna just because of the AWD.
If your winters are bad, this is something to think about. Mini vans are such a large vehicles and to have front wheel drive pulling a large vehicle in the winter, you will have alot of tiring spinning. I've asked alot of other odyssey owners and they say the exact same thing.

Quick tip you do not have to take the vehicle to the dealership to do the recalibration of safety features that’s a dealership tactic to make you go to them call safelite Autoglass and they can do the recalibrations and windshield replacement in the same appointment I work there and get these scheduled all the time for recalibration and windshield replacements 😊

What is with some people? "Oh it's low to the ground..." That's the point of a minivan. It's supposed to be more pedestrian friendly, lower to the ground for fuel efficiency as well. It's easier for people to get in and out with the step in height, especially for pets. I just don't get why this feature that was obviously meant to make the car more practical is such a big problem.

as a Honda guy I can't drive any other car brand apart from my 911 but for daily driving I can't go for Toyota or korean brands. The odessey is more than enough for my kids and family and most problems are not than big of deal to me, engine is good enough, transmission for a minivan is great and overall usability is good, and not very common here in NY.

    This is every parents dilemma
I want to buy an suv , minivans are ugly , i dont want
Then reality comes in : you have to buy chevy suburban size of suv to match the interior space of minivan, and pay 20k more , plus you pay more drive more , sell for less after 5 years
Logically nothing can beat minivans , period
