It's all so good. Ravi, Wah Wah , Billy Preston, Ringo just being there, & Leon . The Master of Space & Time is off the charts amazing on this. It was accousticaly perfect with a very large screen. I got there for the start of the film & was glued to my seat until 5 minutes after it was done. The sound was incredible & right in front of a large screen of the concert.

George Harrison - Concert For Bangladesh ---From Wikipedia - - - The Concert for Bangladesh (or Bangla Desh, as the country's name was originally spelt)[1] was a pair of benefit concerts organised by former Beatles guitarist George Harrison and Indian sitar player Ravi Shankar. The shows were held at 2:30 and 8:00 pm on Sunday, 1 August 1971, at Madison Square Garden in New York City, to raise international awareness of, and fund relief for refugees from East Pakistan, following the Bangladesh Liberation War-related genocide. The concerts were followed by a bestselling live album, a boxed three-record set, and Apple Films' concert documentary, which opened in cinemas in the spring of 1972. The event was the first-ever benefit of such a magnitude and featured a supergroup of performers that included Harrison, fellow ex-Beatle Ringo Starr, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Billy Preston, Leon Russell and the band Badfinger. In addition, Shankar and Ali Akbar Khan - both of whom had ancestral roots in Bangladesh - performed an opening set of Indian classical music. The concerts were attended by a total of 40,000 people, and the initial gate receipts raised close to $250,000 for Bangladesh relief, which was administered by UNICEF. After collecting the musicians easily, Harrison found it extremely difficult to get the recording industry to release the rights for performers to share the stage, and millions of dollars raised from the album and film were tied up in IRS tax escrow accounts for years, but the concert has been recognised as a highly successful and influential humanitarian aid project, generating both awareness and considerable funds as well as providing valuable lessons and inspiration for projects that followed, such as Live Aid By 1985, through revenue raised from the Concert for Bangladesh live album and film, an estimated $12 million had been sent to Bangladesh, and sales of the live album and DVD release of the film continue to benefit the George Harrison Fund for UNICEF. la naivete est un don: 'some of us are prisoners, the rest of us are guards' pour citer Zimmy qui etait la, dans le Madison Square Garden, yup, close to Pen Station.
"All Things Must Pass" was a hit and allowed him to headline Madison Square Garden. It was the most successful post Beatles album for a long time. Two incredible achievements. Some of the most memorable Beatles songs are by him as well. Thank you George. 🕉

To J: Boy you have it wrong, this is from someone who was there. He tried to get the other 2 for the concert and they declined due to other projects. Bangladesh was going through a very severe famine and their friend Rave Shankir approached them to organize a relief project and both Harrison and Ringo immediately said yes and with other friends the concert for Bangladesh was born. One night only at Madison Square Gardens and all revenues All went to help feed the millions who were starving. Do you homework and check it out. I had 3rd seat 3rd row right near the Ilse center. It's too bad the sound track did not include the whole concert, although most of it was covered.

One that is often left off the list is Stephen Stills. Manassas had played the Garden the night before. Stills left the stage, lights, and sound equipment in place. And kept the roadies and techs there also. All he wanted was to be a part of the show. He waited in Ringo's dressing room and was not called to the stage.
@@gelubatir9794 Thanks for sharing the post
underrated artist
52 years ago - i wonder what's become of the child - the potrait does convey the depth of the suffering -
- In the beginning it was said: "Sell everything you have and give it to the poor"
- In 1971 it was said: "We give a concert and what we get, for the poor"
- In 2024 it is said: "I will steal from your payroll whatever I want, a part so that the poor continue to vote for me and the rest for me and my band of thieves called the socialist party or socialdemocrat party or comunist party"
As you can see, over the years the matter has been optimized, more and more is stolen from others, but no one gives of theirs voluntarily.
Child looks healthy as can be.
Their governments pocket all $$ and food, then hand out peanuts.. A fact found out in the 1990s
nothing has changed since then...money lines the pockets of people with greed now...despots all
@@RollerVol he asked about the child not about greed
yes one of my favorites in my young life i love it
I love this concert i have a couple copies on vinyl, double cd and DVD.. amazing performers,ao many passed
I remembered listening to this record back when I was a student. Thanks for the upload.
I wasn't there but I wish I had been!!!!
I am blown away from many years ago this tune, oh shootz. Leon coming outta no where and that female vocalist singing with an enormous brilliance. Who is she? Of course, Billy Preston
@beatlealex9129 she blows my mind then and today. Unreal. 💖🤙🏽🏝🌸
The ending to Billy Preston's rousing performance of That's the Way God Planned it" brings tears to my eyes every time. It's the only song that has that effect on me. I'm not even sure why.
la naivete est un don: 'some of us are prisoners, the rest of us are guards' pour citer Zimmy qui etait
George flew out of the gate just after the Beatles broke up. The Concert For Bang…was proof it.
"All Things Must Pass" was a hit and allowed him to headline Madison Square Garden. It was the most successful post Beatles album for a long time. Two incredible achievements. Some of the most memorable Beatles songs are by him as well.
Thank you George. 🕉
@prajnatan Am in total agreement with you. Could'nt have said it better myself!
@michaeldunning the seats we had were great, people I was with were very cool. And along with the concert itself I met and spoke to Andy Williams of all people!
the George Harrison album All Things Must Pass was released in 1970....
This concert for BanglaDesh was a first of its kind. Pls correct me if I'm wrong to say so...
A Beatle will always do some thing first and at the right time.
I agree a great concerto for a great cause very lovely
Two members of Traveling Wilburys!
Yeah for sure.
We havent had a star concert for world relief since feed the world....with sooo many mothers and children suffering wars famine poverty...worldwide a t m watching grammys etc seems purile
Remember it well 😢

Great singer and Band..wonderfull vinil. 🎸
Ravi kicks butt!😊
Very good!
40:28 - It Don’t Come Easy [Ringo Starr] forgotten lyrics read the book beatles from a to z
I was at the one of the early shows with my mom. I was 13 and mom scored the tickets
I remember it well at madison square garden
I have this original printing from when I was younger.
"Something" is part of "Just Like A Woman" it's not separate with it own time slot.
Couple a numbers from Leon !!! Classic…
Got me through some real hard times. I have album to this day & crank it every chance I get.
No, too bad you forgot a tape recorder...
Am I wrong, I herd George said the money form this concert was held back fore some reason.

George did more for people than Lennon who only talked garbage and cried for himself.Harrison was a good man.
Clown statement. None of them were perfect.
George was a spiritual guy n songwriter that compositions echoed in your subconscious forever more with a reverence of grace to encourage hope on the himan spirit🎉 Stevie Ray did it with the blues 😢 both gone but not forgotten❤
Well, I was 10years by then, but later i wasn't fooling around so I bought the special edition box, with booklet,DVD,CD , extras ,interview ,etc etc. Oh and a special poster from the event. If someone buy it today, you're still helping The George Harrison foundation wich is connected to UNICEF. So...
George put action with his prayers.
The night of the concert I had just returned from India.
The best version of Beware Of Darkness can be found on this set! When Leon starts singing, the verses take on a very different meaning, the song gets darker. It really works! You have to watch the film, though.
great film
MAIOR BANDA DO MUNDO!!!
Era when Dylan actually sounded good

I remember George and Ravi In Denver changed my life, my older brother took my twin brother and i
Leon was the beast on this record.
The Beatles bandmates always seemed to break boundaries and do so many things other told them were career wreckers or forbidden. They didn't care, they came with a message for humanity and were gonna deliver that message.
I do like Mr.avi sankar ❤❤❤ .He is one of the art masters and also Mr.George Harison. 2 of songs that i do like, That is : While My Guitar and Something. ❤❤❤
Peace shows nor excudes any color
I LIKE HOW YOU INTRODUCED YOUR BAND GEORGE WHERE IS BOB DYLAN HE IS MY MAN
