According to Google AI. A lobster would stop molting when it reaches old age, as the energy required to molt becomes too great relative to the growth it provides, essentially making it too taxing on the lobster's body to continue shedding its shell; this usually happens when a lobster is large and mature, causing molting to become increasingly infrequent and eventually cease altogether. Lobsters may lose a claw in a fish tank due to injury, a fight with another lobster, or as a way to escape a predator. Lobsters can also drop their claws while molting.
@@juliannmorris6478 I'm mostly really curious what prompted him to drop it. Lobsters are known to drop claws, and regrow an identical one after several moults, but... it's usually to escape or in a fight.

I enjoy your content so very much. I am in my 60’s now. In my 20’s, lobster was my very favorite food. While in Massachusetts, a dear friend bought me a live lobster for dinner. I had not experienced one being boiled. She did this…for me. The sound it made sent me to the ground. Literally. I was wailing crying. She was so mad at me. I did not eat that night. I never ate lobster ever again. Within a few years, I became a vegetarian & have remained one to this day. No one could have ever convinced me that lobsters do not experience excruciating pain. I am very thankful for the recent studies. My friend is still not convinced & if she’s being honest, still a little mad at me. I was so thankful to see & become a part of Leon’s journey from the first clip in the grocery store! Every time I watch, I apologize to his ancestors. Thank you for all you do.

For some reason I'm very glad that you had the film processed but also that you took the camera and film back--it just seemed right. I think that someone loved that cabin very much. Leon is looking beautiful and his color and appetite are excellent! Thank you for keeping us posted.
Oh man I can't stand to see that beautiful cabin just left to decay. It looks like it's completely solid and salvageable to me! I wouldn't even know where to begin to find out how to get possession of an abandoned building, but if I lived close enough, I'd sure find out. Maybe a potential project for you Brady? You saved Leon, now save the cabin! :)
In the case of the cabin, a lot of properties like that get abandoned when the elderly owners pass away or go into a home. The family either doesn't know about or isn't interested in the property. The calendar briefly seen at 23:20; I can make out that July 7th was a Tuesday. So it was probably abandoned sometime in 2020 or 2015. The photo of the guy smoking the cig looks like it matches that timeframe. The elderly gentleman in the photos is probably the owner. Local municipality should be able to tell you who owns it.
I also paused the video to check. No easy to see year, dang it. But July 1, 2015 was a Wednesday not a Thursday. Now July 1, 2010, 2004, 1999, or even 1993 started on a Thursday. Could go further back but I think it was somewhere around there.

I have to thank you for making your videos so peaceful and relaxing to watch. I've had a terrible last 48 hours due to the wild fires in my area with no power at my house, smoke and ash everywhere and hearing from multiple friends that they've lost everything. Your video just gave me 30 minutes to put that aside and take a breath. Thank you.
Palisades fire? I’m in SoCal just like you but further down south and inland near Murrieta . It’s just horrific what is happening . I pray your home is spared .
I've been following Leon since Day 1 and every episode still just fills my heart with joy. Whether it's the glass shrimp, the anemones, the crabs, or Leon, each being in your aquarium has a life and a story of its own, and you do a wonderful job of sharing it with us. Also love the kitties in the house and the ones outside. Thank you for top notch videos filled with light and love.
Came for Leon, but stayed for the mystery. I love exploring abandoned buildings/homes. This was so interesting. I cannot believe that all of that stuff was left there. It is a shame to see a cabin like that going to waste. It is beautiful. Unbelievable that those pics survived. I could watch videos like this all day. Keep up the awesome content.
Brady, your camera work is equal to the best nature documentaries. Amazing footage! Thanks for showing not only Leon but all the other tiny critters in the aquariums and all the other creatures like the chickens and the cats. 🦞🐈🐔
What a shame that cabin has been abandoned. It has such great potential. Worthwhile project for someone who likes to restore homes. It would make a great vacation home or just a regular home.
When you took that camera and the photos back to the house, it brought a smile to my face. Not a lot of people would bother to do that. As always, I enjoyed this video thoroughly.
Brady I was researching Maine lobster moulting last year and there could be a few reasons why Leon is taking his time. There is also a technique to force the moult but it is horrific ( eye ablation , cutting off the eye stalks) Apparently in Fall , Maine lobsters gorge themselves on seaweed, Kelp and algae. As the days gets shorter , these plants die off and become free floating and easier for lobsters to source. These sea plants are full of nutrients and fibre and are easily digested by crustaceans. Then in spring the temps rise stimulating the fattened lobsters to moult. There is also something to do with low protein in the seaweeds as foods high in protein can cause crabs and prawns to excrete calcium. In some cases , this can lead to shell rot in crabs ( I don't know about lobsters but as they are crustaceans...) So maybe get Leon some greens? If you could forage some kelps, seaweeds and algae from an ocean beach ( You could probably freeze it) and give him a little every day? Also maybe dose the tank with calcium, aquariums sell calcium supplements for those keeping corals. Im sure Leon will eventually moult but i thought id share some advice just in case.
Ah, the quality of your videos just keeps getting better and better! What a joy to watch! So beautifully framed and edited - the work you put in does not go unnoticed, my friend. I'm in the UK and just love your travels into the woods - how stunning! I have 3 cats of my own so i love to see yours and delight in the progress of the kittens, and I'm as fascinated as you clearly are with Leon. Please keep up the good work!🤗
Love your videos! Thanks for the updates on Leon. You are so courageous to walk into that house and explore. I thought there would've been a lot more wildlife living in that abandoned house. Also, it was really thoughtful for you to bring back the pictures developed! You are one of a kind, and the world needs more people like you!
Brady, this is such a fascinating video! Not only do we see and learn about Leon, filters for the tank water, the crabs, the anemones eating blood worms (!), and your kitties, but we go on adventure with you to the abandoned house! Yes, unfinished, but I’m guessing some militia guys might have been using it as a shelter/hangout. Good on you, cleaning up the camera, getting the photos developed, and putting them back in place where maybe some family member will find it.
Same here. As soon as Brady rescued Leon from the supermarket, i stopped eating lobster. And, after seeing the cute hungry crabs, no more crabs either.
Watching Leon and friends gives me the same comforting feeling I got as a child watching Hammy Hamster adventures. Very pleasant and calming. Thank you Brady for giving us a fascinating glimpse at your life adventures. Been watching since Leon joined your family of friends.
Brady, you’ve had me hooked since you brought Leon home from the grocery store and you NEVER cease to amaze me. I am impressed you practice the code of a responsible adventurer - taking nothing - and if appropriate, leaving an area or an object better than you found it. I enjoyed your reference to the Sea Monkeys. I was obsessed with them as a kid, but I guess my parents knew better - no Sea Monkeys for me. That abandoned cabin is a true wonder. The possibilities . . . Thank you so much for sharing your experiences. Always a pleasure.
I still find it remarkable that he’s still thriving and remember when you got him. His behaviour is fascinating too. Sending good wishes from Sherwood Forest in the Uk
Great video. Thanks for this Brady. I loved that you went into that abandoned house and got the film developed. It seems to me they just stopped building it and left. I really enjoyed this one. Keep us updated on Leon's molting. 🥰
I have started to rewatch from the beginning. I'm surprised at how much I forgot. Like how his claw was paralysed for a while after you released it. I'm enjoying the journey even more the second time.
So sad to see such a wonderful, solid cabin in such a state. It was someone's dream who perhaps died or became disabled and couldn't get there any longer. The cook stove reminded me of one we had in a cabin we built and sold to a family member who just left it in the same state. Recently, the area burned in the Park Fire in California, so now I know it is really gone.
That house...it makes me extremely sad. I can't believe I feel this strongly about it. I get the feeling that the adage you can't take it when you go is very strong here. This place is beautiful. You can tell not many people come across it.
When I saw the old photos and the abandoned house with ALL the stuff in it (old and new), it made me go into detective mode and made me think of the youtube/instagram/tiktok guy Dan Rhodo (aka Shot and Forgot aka Danocracy). He buys batches of old film slides at auction and tries to reunite them with family by using clues in the photos and any writing on the slides to cross-check anything he finds to piece together the story. I wish he could take a look at it and see if he could figure out any leads!!! That would be a VERY cool collaboration. He lives in Texas, too. So... kind of far from Georgia, but not impossible... and also they could collaborate digitally- photos, videos, chat... There were TONS of clues as to the last time(s) people may have been there and to what kinds of people they were. I bet you could do a land search and find out who owns/ed the land and go from there, too. It had electricity, so either they were clever and ran generators or they had an address and a power bill associated with someone's name. Look at the calendar, the dvds and games? that were upstairs to determine release dates, the expiration dates on the mustard and other condiments in the kitchen, some of the letters and papers, see if there was any writing on the back of those framed photos by the camera, etc. I bet you could piece together quite a story!
I forget, did you end up doing the Leon children’s book? I’ve shown your videos of him, the cats and the other wildlife to my 2nd grade students and they love Leon and Jet! 😌
You bet, Brady, I totally enjoyed your video. I loved everything about it. I love it when you stumble across abandoned buildings. That abandoned log cabin was very strange. It looked like someone just walked out and left. The coins on the piece of furniture, the old camera. Apparently, someone liked music. There was a music stand as well. Are we going to be surprised if you look into that cabin and be the one who cleans it out to refurbish it? Umm, probably not, but maybe we will wait and see. Thank you, Brady, for sharing Leon with us. I always look forward to the next video. Oh, and speaking of Fraya ( forgive the spelling ), I hope you eventually take her in and make the family complete. Well, till next time, Brady, and it can't come soon enough❤❤❤

Amazing that I have been following this channel for 3 years. Absolutely amazing video as usual. Stunning photography as well. The animals and adventures are so educational, thank you.
You could definitely make an entire series of just exploring abandoned places - also, the calender on the bed read July, but the 31st of July seemed to have fallen on a Friday, which means that calender was there in 2020. It may have been abandoned due to something related to Covid... maybe the owner couldn't get to it, lost their job or financial security, or worse... who knows.
That cabin could be such a lovely home with some work. I wonder about who built it and what happened to them? As always wonderful to see Leon and the kitties!
Great to see you and Leon back again, Brady (Leon looks fantastic showing his beautiful blue colours) It seems ages since the last update. I loved you talking about Sea Monkeys; I was one of those conned by the adverts😂. I think I must have a telepathic connection to either Leon or yourself, Brady. Every time I start thinking about Leon, a new video shows up the next day. Hope you all stay happy and healthy❤
I love Leon. It is so fascinating to see his business and his daily life. Perhaps he needs his food intake bumped up a notch as he’s older now he would need more food to metabolize than he did when he was younger. This is what I do when I notice my snake chant shed in some time. As growth is what promotes molting. It’s so fun to watch all Leon’s friends too. I’m such an animal person. Since I was small I was collecting every live bug, salamander, frog, snake, or animal that needed some tlc . This often included snakes too. My mom wasn’t very happy with me when she would find my critters taking up residence in my bedroom. Today the critters gravitate to me still as they did back then. I have a lovely amount of mourning doves that sit in the railing to the deck and sing bright and early in the morning. My son is not so keen on this as it’s right outside his bedroom window and has become his morning alarm. The cats love the birds. The sit in the patio door and watch intently. We do make up names for or cats. Nephertiti my python, is also danger noodle. Black Beard our one orange cat has kitty acne on his chin. I call him Bb. We adopted a feral cat that was hanging around the house and I have been able to tame him really well. He’s now an indoor cat. I call him Dobby after the house elf in the Harry Potter books as he’s always doing crazy things. But out of pure innocence. At night he sleeps in short shifts then he prowls every room checking everything out and checking everyone out in their beds. Then he will lie back down for a rest. And then awhile later he will make his rounds again as if he’s protecting his people and territory. I’m the only one he trusts enough to let live on him an he will sleep on me. I could go on forever. I love my animals. The house definitely should be refinished. It has such potential. I love exploring. I’ve always been an explorer. Looking for treasure in the bushes by our house had tons of bushes surrounding our house. Back to the critters, people in the neighborhood knew I was the critter girl. So periodically someone would drop of a bug or a bird. We had lots of squirrels. Mom and I were making cookies in the kitchen one autumn da day. The table sat right next to the window. We had the window open. I took a batch out and turned around to put them on the table to cool. And ine of my little squirrel grinds, I believe it was chip. Was hanging from the screen begging for a cookie. He chattering so loud. Mom can in the kitchen asking what all the commotion was. Then started laughing. So that day. Chip got his first oatmeal cookie. I also to a couple out for Dale, and others. Happy New Year! And thank you for sharing your critters. I love the last video also!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
that house in the woods was awesome. I too find abandoned places fascinating and also creepy. I wonder what chain of events lead to their abandonment after time as a happy home or whatever. Incidentally, if you go back, put a new film in the camera and a small sign telling visitors to take a photo of themselves or something nearby they like. See what you get.
Just found you 5 days ago. Your video's are relaxing.... i always wanted a salt tank myself! Makes me want to rescue the rest of the Leon's. They have personality if you look close enough. I love eating lobster, but now will be thinking of Leon!! Thank you for partially ruining my taste for lobster.

Everytime im in the grocery store I cant walk past the lobster tanks. I was crying my eyes out Dec 23 in the grocery store, thinking they spend xmas alone in a tank miserable. 😮I know lol
I know, I can't walk by a Lobster tank either, I will go all the way around the other side of the aisle rather than see them. And how long are they in there with no food. I think of that too. I'm not a vegetarian, but the whole Lobster thing of boiled alive bothers me.
That picture... a magical moment indeed! You have so many talents, dear Brady. I wish you a very excellent year 2025. May it be filled with Health, and Joy, for your family (all species included) and yourself. And I wish us many many more of your excellent videos. 🥰
Here’s something else most people don’t know: When you order ‘Baked Lobster, the chef takes the live lobster in 2 hands, cracks and stuffs the lobster while it’s still alive and kicking’ and slides it into an oven. I’m so glad I don’t eat animals, I’d have nightmares.
That cabin was really cool. It’s a shame it is in disarray. If only walls could talk. I don’t know which is creepier that mask or the knife in the ceiling. That was so cool of you to take film have it processed and return from where you found it. It would be wild if a family member of that cabin followed you and went back to retrieve those pictures. Would love to know if they did. Would also love the back story of that cabin. 😊
I remember the sea monkey adds in the back of comic books in the 60's, so I had to laugh when you brought it up (great memories from the South Park episode too) - thanks for the update!
That cabin just broke my heart. As you said it is beautiful. It makes me wonder if the person who owned it died.Or got really sick. Then I think of all the people who would give anything to have that cabin.
I love the developed prints turning out. I've got about 1 in 10 luck in terms of when old rolls are able to be developed from antique cameras I've found or bought. I also like that you took the camera and prints back to the cabin. Things don't stay as un-visited like that in Iowa where there's a town every 10 miles. For Kodak 200 ISO film and a C3 likely with no flash, some of those photos turned out with more detail than I was expecting.

It would make a great vacation home or just a regular home.
i love the thought of the little crabs sitting together and laughing at you, very cute
Jett! I love seeing that cute little tripod so much. I also love to see that Leon's doing well after three years. Go Leon go!
When you took that camera and the photos back to the house, it brought a smile to my face. Not a lot of people would bother to do that. As always, I enjoyed this video thoroughly.
Brady I was researching Maine lobster moulting last year and there could be a few reasons why Leon is taking his time. There is also a technique to force the moult but it is horrific ( eye ablation , cutting off the eye stalks)
Apparently in Fall , Maine lobsters gorge themselves on seaweed, Kelp and algae.
In some cases , this can lead to shell rot in crabs ( I don't know about lobsters but as they are crustaceans...)
So maybe get Leon some greens?
Please keep up the good work!🤗
I love how neat, orderly and organized. Leon is. He’s the greatest!
Brady, your stories and presentation is the absolute best on UA-cam!! Well done!!
I would LOVE to own and bring that cabin back to life!!
Post it and you’ll have a new follower! 😊
Thank you for another half hour of quality time Brady!
AK magazine filled with steel case 7.62 x 39 and a Scarface poster? Wild place...
THAT WAS A lovely old house and would look good done up. Lovely to see Leon still his usual self thanks for sharing take care Debbie uk xxxxx
I actually stopped eating lobsters and crabs over a year ago because of Leon. Thank you for that.❤
Same here. As soon as Brady rescued Leon from the supermarket, i stopped eating lobster. And, after seeing the cute hungry crabs, no more crabs either.
Well Leon hasn’t 😮
Chickens have even more individual personalities

Watching Leon and friends gives me the same comforting feeling I got as a child watching Hammy Hamster adventures. Very pleasant and calming. Thank you Brady for giving us a fascinating glimpse at your life adventures. Been watching since Leon joined your family of friends.
It is nice to see such good people like you. Loving the smallest of creatures, surprised by everything around you, bringing back the photos. ❤
That cabin has so much potential
YAY!!!! IT'S LEON!!!!
I feel the same way every time. Love Leon!! 🥰🥰🥰
That was lovely what a nice thing you did to take back the camera and photos! Thankyou for sharing always love your videos ❤😊
So sweet of you to bring the camera and its photos back to their home. 💛 Thank you for the film!
Your voice is so soothing qnd beautiful, as is Leon himself. God bless you all
I never thought about lobsters until Leon. Now I think about them all the time. They’re fascinating to watch.
Every abandoned house was once somebody's dream house.
I'm so glad we got a new year Leon video. Been worried about him since he lost his arm, I really hope he grows a new upgraded one.
Leon is so cool love hearing about him
I still find it remarkable that he’s still thriving and remember when you got him. His behaviour is fascinating too. Sending good wishes from Sherwood Forest in the Uk
As usual, a very well-done video. It's so cool that you returned to camera to its original spot.
Great video. Thanks for this Brady. I loved that you went into that abandoned house and got the film developed. It seems to me they just stopped building it and left. I really enjoyed this one. Keep us updated on Leon's molting. 🥰
I love watching ur videos. Been here since the first day of rescuing Leon ❤️
That carmera story is incredible, so glad you "borrowed" it and shared your findings
You are a kind soul. Thanks again, for sharing your life.
Your voice, video and storytelling are great. Seeing lobsters in grocery stores is heartbreaking.
Another lovely peek into another world! Thank you!👍✌️🫶😊
That house...it makes me extremely sad. I can't believe I feel this strongly about it. I get the feeling that the adage you can't take it when you go is very strong here. This place is beautiful. You can tell not many people come across it.
I wonder if any of the viewers will reckognise someone in the photos. That would be cool :)
Your videos reminds me of a science class that you hope doesn't end . Great content as usual keep up the good work.
Great mix of subjects! I always look forward to your videos!
I agree about the cabin, so much potential; can't believe all that's left behind & wondering what date was on the calendar!!!
You have THE most interesting vids sir that cover a variety of things in one vid. I sure enjoy watching. TY TY Leon and tripod cat looking awesome btw. 😊😻🦞
The scenery in the shots from above are beautiful.
It may have been abandoned due to something related to Covid... maybe the owner couldn't get to it, lost their job or financial security, or worse... who knows.
The mountains are beautiful. Finding that old film was amazing.
That cabin could be such a lovely home with some work. I wonder about who built it and what happened to them? As always wonderful to see Leon and the kitties!
Thank you, Brady!
New year, new Leon video! Hope you're all well! :)
Magical….thank you
Great to see you and Leon back again, Brady (Leon looks fantastic showing his beautiful blue colours) It seems ages since the last update.
I love the last video also!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Fascinating video Brady, thank you. So happy that Leon is a happy lobster.
that house in the woods was awesome.
I love your channel and Leon!😊❤️ I am so intrigued with all things Leon, lol! One thing about him that mesmerizes me is his mouth stuff- I’d never seen a lobster eat before! Those little fluttery things are so cute! You do such a great job on all your videos!🙏
I enjoy following Leon’s journey. I do not eat lobster any more. Thank you for your videos.
This is just wonderful! What guts you had, going inside.
Brady, I think the cabin would be a great get away for you. Beautiful place. Love your channel and Leon. Keep it up buddy. Your forever viewer 💯👍❤
The cabin was fascinating. Thanks for taking us on your adventures.
Those glass shrimp have brass balls! That cabin was enchanting. So much potential. Really makes you wonder.
A little help for now, Brady and Leon. So interesting. Thank You!
amaraland1 thank you so much!!! I’ll tell Leon and the cats. ✌️✌️✌️
\○/ Jesus ✝️
I remember the sea monkey adds in the back of comic books in the 60's, so I had to laugh when you brought it up
(great memories from the South Park episode too) - thanks for the update!
Found leon around when i started my current job 3 years ago, gotta say I'm glad too see he's still around after all this time
