Winter BK’s weapon’s effects are active when HIS special is trigger when he attacks. Not the enemy. He isn’t any better cuz of this though. If there was a way for him to gain damage reduction piercing while keeping special fighter 4 then I think we have something to fear as a near save

@@renmojito6796 well, I think certain characters being a “waifu” definitely helps, I think, at the end of the day, a character being good, and not having that much competition is what really makes them stand out, and what really allows us to see a lot of them. For example, Legendary Male Robin, Brave Seliph, V! Chrom, Brave Dmitri, and so many more are all stand out male units who aren’t just a dime a dozen godsword that has better alternatives that just so happen to be female. I think IS just gives all their broken skills and ideas to female characters, which is an important factor in why they sell better.
Felix isn't seen often becuase so many people play this game to just build their favorites and so he got used for GLR fodder by a lot of people. Other than that, Felix is way better than people think. It seems like people compare his base kit to everyone else with full investment which makes no sense. You have to do one or the other. If you compare his base kit he's better than all the other godswords except byleth. Most of them don't have GLR or vital astra and are much less survivable to the point that they aren't really godswords. If you compare him with full investment you can do a lot of crazy shit with him like turn him into a nuke who loops specials while still having like 58%-79% DR depending on your build. I have all of these units and my felix beats all of them in a 1v1 even though some of the others have higher merges. People seem to just compare his speed and go, "Oh well he's worse than fjorm/alear," but he doesn't even need to win on speed to be good. Hell, fjorm has the most speed and dies to so much shit it's ridiculous.
@@smalltrashman4227 I can see an argument for base summer Fjorm being better, they were definitely close in my mind. I went with Felix being better because he can tank more things but she has a lot of other bonuses so it's close. But yeah once you change his kit around he becomes much better than her. Diamant I dont know I think he's kind of trash, godsword or not. I love his design which is why I was so disappointed with him. He's just not tanky enough. So he ends up just being a melee infantry nuke and there are many units that can do that better, not to mention you'd rather have a ranged and more mobile nuke anyway and one that can double and/or have canto.
They also made her niche an inheritable skill on Rhea who is colorless, has True Dragonwall as well as 30% True Damage reduction on second attacks onwards. They took all that made B!Tiki unique and gave it to units that perform better in record time. It’s gonna be at least one more year before B!Tiki could actually shine on her own via refine (hopefully).
@@kickyourbutsgoodbyesame, I have had gotten some mileage out of my B!Tiki, but I'd be lying if I said I don't struggle to make her work, but truth be told, her refine doesn't need too much to make her good, give her flat DR based on Res and maybe some extra attack and she will be popping off.
I'm also hoping that they'll be nice and give the best refine to A Tiki but they've always been giving it to the man in 1st place so i'm not expecting it😢
As a user of W!Black Knight. IS made a VERY good brawler type of character, taking 1v1s quite well. Issue is, he is a brawler that is green, that has armor weakness, that has 1 movement and only has 2 effects for surviving, piercable first hit damage reduction and a very nice -10 attack debuff. If he was a lance? Put him as a far saver on defense in the front and he walls out so many galeforce/omnitanks while protecting his team, until they self bolt trap or bring HP amnipulation. Him needing his opponents healthy feels like IS trying to make the unit too fair. If he was an infantry lance, you would see him quite a bit. Next bit that is definitely privileged to say but definitely runs through my mind. Why did black luna not get upgraded? Lyn from a few months prior got an upgraded version of her prf skill and so did others, why did BK get excluded in this. He just feels like he falls short by so little quite a few times, he wishes he has access to infantry dodge skills and those types of effects. Maybe the right fighter skill will pick bring him from just barely not making it to omni tank speedy armor. Speedy armored is weird, you don't have the skill access that you realistically want most of the time unless your prf(s) work with it really good. We shall see what the future has to hold but there are so few speed based armors that I am prepared to be waiting for the right armor skills for quite a bit.
W!BK really excels as a near save tbh. Give him A/S Unity and A/S Near and you're good. Not sure if there's a better B skill besides SF4, but he's serving me really well. So much, I got him to +10!
Currently my summoner’s name in FEH is “Timerra4feh”. I hope that when she gets a in, she’s not dead on arrival. Summer Ivy, Diamant, Chloe, Celine and Alcryst all are units I hope she’s as good as when she comes.
I was so sure Felix would have something akin to the aegis shield as a prf, but it looks like they were saving that for the CyL alt that didn’t happen. While I’m talking about blue-haired swordmasters, I hope they don’t screw up Kagetsu. If he gets the lapis treatment, then let us get free copies. If they want to give him a prf, then don’t powercreep him immediately in the next month again and again

Putting Def/Res Menace on a Brave unit was inexcusable; yes dragons use it better than others, but unless you're Halloween Tiki, Atk/Res is always the preferred Menace skill on a dragon. I will actually maintain that kit-to-kit Brave Tiki is better than Ascended; the latter needs heavy investment or team support to clear up her shortcomings (having neither DC to omnitank nor NFU to...function). Granted, that's only gotten easier with time. And then Bride Tiki, while incredibly awesome, is a Far Save with no DC. Man, what is it with I.S. and making Tikis with deliberately incomplete kits? You were right on about Brave Tiki's artwork, too. I love the quality of the art itself, but it was a lousy design decision. Even her skill name references the missed opportunity, since she actually was the "new Naga" in Awakening's DLC. Well, I didn't stop summoning all year since the Hatari banner for nothing. My +10 Brave Tiki eagerly awaits her refine...
I feel like you’ve misread W!BK’s prf. I’m pretty sure it just means that he gets all those effects as long as he’s using an offensive special and the foe meets the specific HP requirements. There’s no talk of needing to trigger the foe’s special or the foe’s special needing to be ready like with Armoured Beacon.
Ganglöt was definitely the biggest disappointment this last generation. She was THE villain in the book 3's Tempest Trials and as a unit she lacks anything that would justify that. She stands solely on skills and her archetype (slow infantry) is really bad. Her main use is multiplying infantry exclusive skills that her gameplay doesn't benefit at all.
I don't play Heroes anymore, but Kiragi got done dirty, and although Diamant has only been out a few weeks, I would personally hate to see him get powercrept so quickly.
As a brave tiki user, I get that ascended tiki is the better unit at this point but something I think gets overlooked a lot is the special precharge before her attack in her weapon. Since there arent good specials for her yet it's not that valuable but when it comes I think her stock will go up a lot
Brave Tiki's decharge is extremely good. Especially for abyssals. It is the reason Bridal Tiki is able to easily solo a lot of abyssal bosses with no support. I'm not entirely aware of how good she is in PvP modes, but I'm decently satisfied with Brave Tiki as is, though, there is ofc no competition between her and Ascended, so BTiki could definitely be better, but she's not terrible.

Felix is totally fine though? His schtick is having GLR always online, meaning that you don't have to run breath skills or IP. Since he doesn't need to run Time's Pulse he has his C slot open for Speed and/or Panic smoke, which is perfect for omnitanking. I'm not saying he's better than any of the other godswords released this year, but he's perfectly serviceable in his role, unlike BK and Alfred who just have no place in the meta.

I actually seen a replay this week of my defense team absolutely overkilling an Alfred carry. Only would use him for his lance and maybe Flow Near Trace. That skill is still good for some units, like Finn or something. Throw on Desperation seal and maybe he can quad with canto.
I remember everyone going crazy over Alfred's A skill only for him to basically be irrelevant, but as you said, he just has nothing else. If he was released a few years ago though, I'm sure he'd be insane.
I do think that when L!Alfred rolls around, he's gonna a menace with flat DR and probably an updated prf. Diamant already raised the flat DR ceiling from 20% to now 25% so it's gonna be interesting to see where IS would go from there
Although I don't think W! BK is nothing revolutionary, I think you misread his PRF description. It actually has very good sinergy with his kit, it's just that he's a green speedy armor in a meta of speedy Red nukes and he's not fast enough. Even readapting him to Near Save is not enough because he won't handle most Red melee meta threats like B! Seliph or the plethora of new godswords (especially Diamant). On this topic, I'm quite surprised with how Lumera is still holding up! (considering how it turned out for Yen'fay last year, for example). On the topic of refines I can't think of a more disappoint one than Brunnya's. It was very anticipated by everyone, including myself... Also, I'm feeling that IS will revive Gatekeeper back to meta relevance with his refine and that maybe B! Marianne will get the "tame" CYL refine this year (very unfortunately, since she's my favorite of that bunch).

The biggest Disappointment that most of these heroes that are Rearmed which is Possessed Chrom, Three Hopes Ingrid, Ganglot, Eitra, Alfred and Alcestis. That is two Heroes and Engage characters.
Sylvain deserves an honorary mention imo, he's a popular character yet his base version got released as a prf-less demote? I'm not a huge Sylvain fan myself, but he got done dirty.
I'm a little surprised that there wasn't at least a mention of Rearmed Grima. Great unit, amazing unit, even... Absolutely atrocious and unwarranted implementation.
Colourless hell has been awful this year. I've sparked sniping colourless a lot this year - in fact I think most of my orbs went that way (rearmed Tana, rearmed Grima many times, Medeus, Fomortiis several times, Elimine, Triandra). Out of something like 10 sparks, I've only actually the unit I wanted 2 or 3 times on the way 😭 I had way more luck with the pity breaks though - Arval (x3), fallen Maria (x3), AJoshua (x2)
So no one is mentioning Vennessa. As a demote she's actually not terrible as having a good speed stat is what we need these days, but overall she feels very disappointing. As one of the few units that can promote to Wyvern Knight in SS it would have been great to see a second one in the game after Valter and could possibly make for a very interesting pref. Still, I'll probably be giving her Luin as soon as I can give Guidance 4 as well, but I wish she had a pref.
Tiki is my fav character of the whole franchise, it breaks my heart to see her literally dead. Brave alt must have a good refine, she deserves a brave dimitri treatment
Everything about Brave Tiki was such a slap in the face. From her showing up wearing her childhood clothes, just so IS could remind us which Tiki THEY prefer, to A!Young Tiki showing up in the outfit a lot of people would have argued Brave Tiki should have been wearing, doing everything Brave Tiki does but better, and having WTA over Brave Tiki, to IS waiting less than a year before making her unique effect into an inheritable skill in the form of Atk/Res Scowl, to literally everything about Harmonic Tiki. IS really wants us to know which Tiki they prefer, and it's not the one we voted into CYL. And poor Felix. Until I got Summer Fjorm, he was the only godsword from this year that I had. He's still a solid tanking unit, but the market for godswords is so oversatured that he has no hope of standing out. Edit: if they ever give us a Linhardt alt (which is probably just the purest copium), I hope they don't screw him up. I.E., don't make him a prf-less staff demote AGAIN, IS.
the issue with BK is not so much that he's bad at doing savior stuff but more that he's a player phase unit that they're trying to sell to you as an enemy phase unit. i've been saying for months that winter BK is a wolf in sheep's clothing in that he's effectively a psuedo-godsword who parades around as a far save tank. winter bk excels tremendously better when you give him a kit that focuses on his offensive potential rather than as a savior. of course though armor units who don't save aren't exactly something most people give a shit about, but in a meta with a bunch of piercing sweepers, i'd argue not being explicitly built as a savior unit is actually a good thing. if you really want to run him as a savior, give him A/S Near Save or wait until S/D Near Save comes out. also, as cool as special fighter 4 is, just run spiral 4 instead. it compliments his kit way way better, i promise.

The 4 units i really hope they dont screw up when they do decide to bring them into the game are from fe 7, marcus, oswin, athos and nergal. Theyre some of my favorite units of all time. Il be crushed if they do them dirty

While BTiki didn't live to the hype(of being a cyl winner cuz everyone knew she was the worst of the cyl7 braves) I always struggle beating her in AR and sometimes in arena, she's so bulky and hard to tank, but I get why she's on the top of your list with all the cyl hype surrounding her and IS trying their absolute best to make her obsolete at an godsword pace(first HDuma, then AYTiki then Scowl, THEN Bridal Tiki oof!) The other ones tho yeah they're very lackluster, they're so bad in your hands and in the AI hands...
as someone with a +7 B!Tiki and a +1 D!Tiki I can say that B!Tiki is just bad, she can work but with a ton of things and she is just decent, tbh I hope that her refines gives her something like TDR base on Res at least and I know that wouldn´t be enough but either way she needs it maybe if they add an effect that inverts the spd check rule, something like trick room form pokemon in which if the enemy is faster than the unit then the unit like B!Tiki can double and the fou can´t

I think calling Ganglot a disappointment is a bit harsh, not only did nobody want her as a character, but she was the third rearmed, back then, the only good one was Grima, and both her and Lif had leg/myth alts to borrow Parts from. While I agree she's a disappointment either retrospectively, I think back then the hype was pretty low still.

I agree entirely with the first 4, but only partially with Brv!Tiki. Firstly, she's only powercrept because she came out before Asc!Tiki, but it's very likely that Asc!Tiki was designed first and Brv!Tiki is the result of copy-paste. Harmonic Tiki is also just a result of being aroured, thus coming with all the armoured goodies. Tiki's only fault is her archetype, strong and slow, and in an age where Red has been dominating the meta, she suffers more as a result. On paper she's great, all those stats and effects, but yeah, she does fall apart on use, especially as an omnitank facing ranged enemies. Result of being appropriately tuned on release instead of overtuned like Seliph and Chrom.
For me the worst this year is Summer Tharja. We finally got it after so long, and she's the demote? She's the most popular character on the banner (except maybe Ivy) why the hell is she the demote? Not to mention her last alt was a prfless 5 star on her own country's banner! Pretty crazy treatment for a character that gets top 10 in cyl women's side basically every single year.
I'm in disbelief with this Winter Knight slander, this is heresy, sir! My most disappointing unit this year has been Seidr. I +10 her and proceed to dancer trap myself with her; she's basically just an Astra score stick at this point 🙃
My biggest disappointment this year is the lack of timerra/fogado/any solm character in the summer banner. For existing units, definetly Felix, they did him dirty
Felix was extremely underwhelming from day 1. Not having a level 4 DR skill was already a red flag. Alear just lowers the enemies speed so much more than Felix. Black Knight was alright, but thats it. He doesn't really stand out compared to the better, bulkier far savers. A measly 40% first hit dr doesn't help much, especially when its the only form of dr he gets. He's also currently the only PoR unit released in Book 7. Ganglot gave a good axe and distant stance, but thats it. Ganglot just had bulk and nothing else. NFU just neutered her, as it does for every slowpoke out there. Alfred definitely suffered from the gimmick of the year. Being a Rearmed hero means that he'll never have a personal weapon tailor made for him. It'd be like Diamant coming with a Arcane sword and losing his gimmick. He would be so underwhelming, just like Alfred. At least he has high defense, but thats it. And of course, the Arcane Luin is better than the Qiang, easily. As bad as colorless hell is, I'm glad Etie is strong. Since I got Alcryst, I was able to basically make budget Alcryst with all his fodder. The weapon, Deadeye, Flash Sparrow, and Def/Res Smoke 3 all in one go. Very satisfying to get all the Rearmed fodder, especially with much of the bases of these skills being available on grail units. Brave Tiki is further proof to the meme that IS hates Awakening Tiki. The design was already insulting enough, but she is easily the most powercrept of the 4 brave units. Chrom still puts his [bonuses] boost to use, Seliph still has his miracle sword and movement, Byleth isn't as great but still has Divine Pulse Spd Preempt to fall back on. Tiki has Dragon Wall... She of course also has the Scowl effect which can now be given to every other dragon... Ascended Tiki stole all her thunder by having the same weapon, but also neutralizing bonuses, and having a better C skill that acted as a omnidrive buff for allies, first hit dr of 40% and aoe dr of 80% at max. Then she could also run Dragon wall so she has more dr. On top of that she also has more speed and on par bulk, making her the superior choice between the 2. Then here comes Bridal Tiki with the scowl effect and dragon wall in her weapon, as well as Armored Floe for more dr. And of course she is a Far Saver armor, so she is much bulkier than both Tikis. The only thing all 3 of them needed was the Dist Counter seal, which isn't hard to give them. The only redeeming thing about Tiki, is that she has a guaranteed refine coming next year. You know. Assuming FEH makes it that far of course. By that point, maybe Shadow Dragon Tiki can win the next CYL and be so busted that not even the refine can save Awakening Tiki from irrelevance. That won't happen of course, but maybe it will in some alternate timeline. I'd love to see that one.
I'll add one onto this list one on behalf of the Summoner Duels community since it is a specific case: Embla. While Embla was busy terrorizing dark season, she was a massive hype machine in SD that quickly died out. "How will we control matchups without saviors???!!?" Well, turns out Embla doesn't really negate savior at all in SD because the range on her C skill is tiny taking into account the larger maps and diagonal nature of engagements in the mode. You also need to engage with your units every turn as otherwise the foe ends their turns too quickly thus removing undefended. Aside from that she lacks Canto, is too frail and doesn't hit hard enough due to lack of DR pierce. In comparison to the hype she received she ended up as one of the most lukewarm legendaries/mythics of the year.
I still you my brave Tiki. I gave her time pulse 4 and use Iceberg. She kills way more units with this setup. But it's true that duo Tiki is the better unit. At least since brave Tiki is the clear looser of CYL, she will be a good refine right? right?
If Male Legendary Shez isn't as good as Female Legendary Shez, I will be rioting. I use Female Legendary Shez in every single game mode because she's such an amazing nuke, so if I had 2 of them it would be double the trouble >:)
God I am praying so Badly for L!Seliph's redemption in a few days 🥲 I have him at +10 and he's my favourite unit in the game and Damn it would be satisfying to be able to actually style on people with him!!
Meh if i ever took things like this seriously I'd never use any of the units i like to use. I will say it is odd that ganglot is one of the only rearmed units without a unique skill. As for tiki I'll keep using her. I said it then and I'll say it now. I'm glad she wasn't armored. I rarely like armors and barely use them so I'm happy she wasn't. Plus they made one later anyway so whatever now people can have there armor.
Felix is so much better than people think, they are just using him wrong. Legit just fodder a summer fjorm to him and he becomes insane with Spurn 4 and Time's Pulse 4 then give him Astra and he beats all these other godswords 1v1. This is unintuitive to a lot of people who see him with GLR baseline and think hey that's the best there is. But it isn't. His speed is great except against other godswords like Fjorm so you build him to beat them. Astra is very good against godswords because it overwhelms %DR and he can LOOP it. He doesn't need to double so he's less reliant on speed compared to other godswords, has 30% unconditional DR in his weapon, and has 46 base attack which means his astra hits even harder. No other godsword can do this. He does insane damage while still being very tanky. Try this build in the feh calculator, i'm not bullshitting. Have Sumemr Fjorm attack first and Felix will survive it and 1 shot her despite giving her the advantage.
can i just say that i hope they don't butcher the rest of the TMS crew, including Mirage Tiki; Yashiro is the only character in that game that COUNTERS and we've yet to see a counter-based weapon/special/skill in FEH, damage reduction & retaliation damage don't count like all Fjorms specials & Nyx's weapon which reduce damage and then retaliate based on damage reduced. Hope IS gives the rest of TMS crew a fair kit & able to stand up to todays meta.
I hope they will not continue the disapointment when they add Athos. In my delusions I already tell myself, now that Bramimond has an awesome refine, Athos must be at least on the same level when entering the game...

Great list and unfortunately I have to completely agree. I must assume that IS sees Young Tiki as the 'real' Tiki because of Archanea and see the adult version as a cameo, whereas Western players likely grew up with Adult Tiki from Awakening and see the young version as a mascot. I would add: - Embla. Huge fears that Armor meta was destroyed when she was released, but that actually marked the rise of omnitanks and so nobody uses save armors in AR-O anymore - Sylvain. Cavalry axe demote without prf? Come on. - Bruno. He had been with us since the beginning, killed unceremoniously, first alt was an awful seasonal, second alt is an awful grail unit. - L!Yuri and L!Guinevere. Literally same as their base versions, slightly better.
Let us be real... Tiki was already Nr.1 ever since her release and it got worse the futher we went... which pains me because she is my second fav. character in FE....
As someone who likes both Tikis and runs a community for Tiki fans, I would like to add that most Tiki fans are not particularly disappointed by Brave Tiki in young Tiki's attire. The motto is generally "Tiki is Tiki." This goes for both JP and EN Tiki communities. The ones upset about it are a loud minority of fans who enjoy adult Tiki but dislike young Tiki. While I respect preference, I do think it is hard to call those that can't respect Tiki regardless of her iteration "fans."
I like both Tikis, but it is disappointing to see that Awakening Tiki is just trying on her baby clothes to show off that they still fit. The main problem is the uncreativeness with the CYL units as a whole. Some of them are fun, like Celica and Alm being illustrated renditions of their original Gaiden box art designs but in the Shadows of Valentia style. I also really like Camilla's design, being that it is a wholly new design for her. The design just being a class ascension are the worst, aka all of CYL 4. I wish CYL would give more original designs for all of the characters, but it is what it is. At this point I feel like the ire has been moved to Awakening Tiki being powercrept by her Ascended Shadow Dragon self. But of course, should they want more legendaries out of Awakening, Tiki is right there.
@@superpokefan9567 that's a fair perspective. When I say most Tiki fans are not disappointed by it, I mean in the sense that a handful of people are simply upset about it being tied to young Tiki. It is super valid if you find the design to be lazy or unoriginal. I just do not find it valid for someone to hate it because YTiki is tied to it, and they make their hatred for YTiki known while proceeding to label themselves as a "fan" of Tiki, as a fan of a character can have preference while maintaining respect towards all of their iterations if they truly like the character.

in regards to "colourless hell" - I do have to say again that I do not think it is a bad thing if a unit comes without a prf. It allows you the freedom to be creative and build your unit the way that you want.. I truly feel that people get so wrapped up in Arcane Weapons and Prfs vs. No prfs. and "omg no slaying - DOOOM!" that they just forget the fun it can be to see a new seasonal weapon and go "oh, okay this can be fun and interesting." and i know that a lot of this is due to "meta" but I thin that is also the problem too. not everything HAS to be about the meta some of it should be just tackling old maps or different things and seeing how you can do thing with crazy weapons. (for example Summer L'arachel's staff is a great inheritable staff which could benefit a lot of the demotes). the canto weeapons wre great (and it makes we wish we had a canto tome/canto dagger). with that being said. I do agree with you about Brave Tiki. really the only other unit who had all their skills passed around like candy were the Byleths. Ayra got their weapon effect in a refine.. then they created the tempo skills (which was part of their weapon). nuts but Tiki has it worse a you said bcuse they built two new tikis - and then they made her weapon effect into a skilll. really bummery. (as to your question how many omnitanks do you need.... as many as the game will let me. and the majority of mine not as speedy s the top tier ones hehe).

Winter BK’s weapon’s effects are active when HIS special is trigger when he attacks. Not the enemy. He isn’t any better cuz of this though. If there was a way for him to gain damage reduction piercing while keeping special fighter 4 then I think we have something to fear as a near save

@@renmojito6796 well, I think certain characters being a “waifu” definitely helps, I think, at the end of the day, a character being good, and not having that much competition is what really makes them stand out, and what really allows us to see a lot of them. For example, Legendary Male Robin, Brave Seliph, V! Chrom, Brave Dmitri, and so many more are all stand out male units who aren’t just a dime a dozen godsword that has better alternatives that just so happen to be female. I think IS just gives all their broken skills and ideas to female characters, which is an important factor in why they sell better.
Felix isn't seen often becuase so many people play this game to just build their favorites and so he got used for GLR fodder by a lot of people. Other than that, Felix is way better than people think. It seems like people compare his base kit to everyone else with full investment which makes no sense. You have to do one or the other.
If you compare his base kit he's better than all the other godswords except byleth. Most of them don't have GLR or vital astra and are much less survivable to the point that they aren't really godswords.
If you compare him with full investment you can do a lot of crazy shit with him like turn him into a nuke who loops specials while still having like 58%-79% DR depending on your build. I have all of these units and my felix beats all of them in a 1v1 even though some of the others have higher merges. People seem to just compare his speed and go, "Oh well he's worse than fjorm/alear," but he doesn't even need to win on speed to be good. Hell, fjorm has the most speed and dies to so much shit it's ridiculous.

I went with Felix being better because he can tank more things but she has a lot of other bonuses so it's close. But yeah once you change his kit around he becomes much better than her.
Diamant I dont know I think he's kind of trash, godsword or not. I love his design which is why I was so disappointed with him. He's just not tanky enough. So he ends up just being a melee infantry nuke and there are many units that can do that better, not to mention you'd rather have a ranged and more mobile nuke anyway and one that can double and/or have canto.
B!Tiki actually was powercreep thrice, you forgot Duo Duma. IS really showed their hatred for Adult Tiki this year.
They also made her niche an inheritable skill on Rhea who is colorless, has True Dragonwall as well as 30% True Damage reduction on second attacks onwards.
They took all that made B!Tiki unique and gave it to units that perform better in record time.
It’s gonna be at least one more year before B!Tiki could actually shine on her own via refine (hopefully).

She just looked like she was supposed to be an armor, and then bridal tiki came out and confirmed it.
As a user of W!Black Knight. IS made a VERY good brawler type of character, taking 1v1s quite well. Issue is, he is a brawler that is green, that has armor weakness, that has 1 movement and only has 2 effects for surviving, piercable first hit damage reduction and a very nice -10 attack debuff. If he was a lance? Put him as a far saver on defense in the front and he walls out so many galeforce/omnitanks while protecting his team, until they self bolt trap or bring HP amnipulation. Him needing his opponents healthy feels like IS trying to make the unit too fair. If he was an infantry lance, you would see him quite a bit. Next bit that is definitely privileged to say but definitely runs through my mind. Why did black luna not get upgraded? Lyn from a few months prior got an upgraded version of her prf skill and so did others, why did BK get excluded in this. He just feels like he falls short by so little quite a few times, he wishes he has access to infantry dodge skills and those types of effects. Maybe the right fighter skill will pick bring him from just barely not making it to omni tank speedy armor. Speedy armored is weird, you don't have the skill access that you realistically want most of the time unless your prf(s) work with it really good. We shall see what the future has to hold but there are so few speed based armors that I am prepared to be waiting for the right armor skills for quite a bit.
I have a lot of questions with BK. Any unit that depends on speed is just rough right now. Black Luna II definitely would’ve helped, though.
W!BK really excels as a near save tbh. Give him A/S Unity and A/S Near and you're good. Not sure if there's a better B skill besides SF4, but he's serving me really well. So much, I got him to +10!

Putting Def/Res Menace on a Brave unit was inexcusable; yes dragons use it better than others, but unless you're Halloween Tiki, Atk/Res is always the preferred Menace skill on a dragon.
I will actually maintain that kit-to-kit Brave Tiki is better than Ascended; the latter needs heavy investment or team support to clear up her shortcomings (having neither DC to omnitank nor NFU to...function). Granted, that's only gotten easier with time. And then Bride Tiki, while incredibly awesome, is a Far Save with no DC. Man, what is it with I.S. and making Tikis with deliberately incomplete kits?
You were right on about Brave Tiki's artwork, too. I love the quality of the art itself, but it was a lousy design decision. Even her skill name references the missed opportunity, since she actually was the "new Naga" in Awakening's DLC.

I feel like you’ve misread W!BK’s prf. I’m pretty sure it just means that he gets all those effects as long as he’s using an offensive special and the foe meets the specific HP requirements. There’s no talk of needing to trigger the foe’s special or the foe’s special needing to be ready like with Armoured Beacon.

Ganglöt was definitely the biggest disappointment this last generation. She was THE villain in the book 3's Tempest Trials and as a unit she lacks anything that would justify that. She stands solely on skills and her archetype (slow infantry) is really bad. Her main use is multiplying infantry exclusive skills that her gameplay doesn't benefit at all.
I don't play Heroes anymore, but Kiragi got done dirty, and although Diamant has only been out a few weeks, I would personally hate to see him get powercrept so quickly.
As a brave tiki user, I get that ascended tiki is the better unit at this point but something I think gets overlooked a lot is the special precharge before her attack in her weapon. Since there arent good specials for her yet it's not that valuable but when it comes I think her stock will go up a lot
Brave Tiki's decharge is extremely good. Especially for abyssals. It is the reason Bridal Tiki is able to easily solo a lot of abyssal bosses with no support. I'm not entirely aware of how good she is in PvP modes, but I'm decently satisfied with Brave Tiki as is, though, there is ofc no competition between her and Ascended, so BTiki could definitely be better, but she's not terrible.
Dragons definitely need a better special. Right now, blue flame isn’t cutting it

Felix is totally fine though? His schtick is having GLR always online, meaning that you don't have to run breath skills or IP. Since he doesn't need to run Time's Pulse he has his C slot open for Speed and/or Panic smoke, which is perfect for omnitanking.
I'm not saying he's better than any of the other godswords released this year, but he's perfectly serviceable in his role, unlike BK and Alfred who just have no place in the meta.

The first step of getting a depressing Sharena alt is actually getting the alt.
I actually seen a replay this week of my defense team absolutely overkilling an Alfred carry. Only would use him for his lance and maybe Flow Near Trace. That skill is still good for some units, like Finn or something. Throw on Desperation seal and maybe he can quad with canto.

I remember everyone going crazy over Alfred's A skill only for him to basically be irrelevant, but as you said, he just has nothing else. If he was released a few years ago though, I'm sure he'd be insane.
I do think that when L!Alfred rolls around, he's gonna a menace with flat DR and probably an updated prf. Diamant already raised the flat DR ceiling from 20% to now 25% so it's gonna be interesting to see where IS would go from there

Although I don't think W! BK is nothing revolutionary, I think you misread his PRF description. It actually has very good sinergy with his kit, it's just that he's a green speedy armor in a meta of speedy Red nukes and he's not fast enough. Even readapting him to Near Save is not enough because he won't handle most Red melee meta threats like B! Seliph or the plethora of new godswords (especially Diamant).
On this topic, I'm quite surprised with how Lumera is still holding up! (considering how it turned out for Yen'fay last year, for example). On the topic of refines I can't think of a more disappoint one than Brunnya's. It was very anticipated by everyone, including myself... Also, I'm feeling that IS will revive Gatekeeper back to meta relevance with his refine and that maybe B! Marianne will get the "tame" CYL refine this year (very unfortunately, since she's my favorite of that bunch).

This is unrelated, but the internet show Death Battle has put its first Fire Emblem character into an episode, and it's Dimitri.
The biggest Disappointment that most of these heroes that are Rearmed which is Possessed Chrom, Three Hopes Ingrid, Ganglot, Eitra, Alfred and Alcestis. That is two Heroes and Engage characters.
Sylvain deserves an honorary mention imo, he's a popular character yet his base version got released as a prf-less demote? I'm not a huge Sylvain fan myself, but he got done dirty.

Colourless hell has been awful this year. I've sparked sniping colourless a lot this year - in fact I think most of my orbs went that way (rearmed Tana, rearmed Grima many times, Medeus, Fomortiis several times, Elimine, Triandra). Out of something like 10 sparks, I've only actually the unit I wanted 2 or 3 times on the way 😭
I had way more luck with the pity breaks though - Arval (x3), fallen Maria (x3), AJoshua (x2)

So no one is mentioning Vennessa. As a demote she's actually not terrible as having a good speed stat is what we need these days, but overall she feels very disappointing. As one of the few units that can promote to Wyvern Knight in SS it would have been great to see a second one in the game after Valter and could possibly make for a very interesting pref. Still, I'll probably be giving her Luin as soon as I can give Guidance 4 as well, but I wish she had a pref.
It's mostly because she's a demote. We generally expect demotes to underperform, so it's not really disappointing when they do.

Everything about Brave Tiki was such a slap in the face. From her showing up wearing her childhood clothes, just so IS could remind us which Tiki THEY prefer, to A!Young Tiki showing up in the outfit a lot of people would have argued Brave Tiki should have been wearing, doing everything Brave Tiki does but better, and having WTA over Brave Tiki, to IS waiting less than a year before making her unique effect into an inheritable skill in the form of Atk/Res Scowl, to literally everything about Harmonic Tiki. IS really wants us to know which Tiki they prefer, and it's not the one we voted into CYL.
And poor Felix. Until I got Summer Fjorm, he was the only godsword from this year that I had. He's still a solid tanking unit, but the market for godswords is so oversatured that he has no hope of standing out.
Edit: if they ever give us a Linhardt alt (which is probably just the purest copium), I hope they don't screw him up. I.E., don't make him a prf-less staff demote AGAIN, IS.

the issue with BK is not so much that he's bad at doing savior stuff but more that he's a player phase unit that they're trying to sell to you as an enemy phase unit. i've been saying for months that winter BK is a wolf in sheep's clothing in that he's effectively a psuedo-godsword who parades around as a far save tank.
winter bk excels tremendously better when you give him a kit that focuses on his offensive potential rather than as a savior. of course though armor units who don't save aren't exactly something most people give a shit about, but in a meta with a bunch of piercing sweepers, i'd argue not being explicitly built as a savior unit is actually a good thing. if you really want to run him as a savior, give him A/S Near Save or wait until S/D Near Save comes out.
also, as cool as special fighter 4 is, just run spiral 4 instead. it compliments his kit way way better, i promise.
Ganglot is for me a big one, since i do like the design. I was just so curios what they would give as an unique, but turns out, she gets nothing
All rearmed units should get a unique PRF skill. Otherwise, they’re not unique at all.

While BTiki didn't live to the hype(of being a cyl winner cuz everyone knew she was the worst of the cyl7 braves) I always struggle beating her in AR and sometimes in arena, she's so bulky and hard to tank, but I get why she's on the top of your list with all the cyl hype surrounding her and IS trying their absolute best to make her obsolete at an godsword pace(first HDuma, then AYTiki then Scowl, THEN Bridal Tiki oof!)
The other ones tho yeah they're very lackluster, they're so bad in your hands and in the AI hands...

as someone with a +7 B!Tiki and a +1 D!Tiki I can say that B!Tiki is just bad, she can work but with a ton of things and she is just decent, tbh I hope that her refines gives her something like TDR base on Res at least and I know that wouldn´t be enough but either way she needs it maybe if they add an effect that inverts the spd check rule, something like trick room form pokemon in which if the enemy is faster than the unit then the unit like B!Tiki can double and the fou can´t

I think calling Ganglot a disappointment is a bit harsh, not only did nobody want her as a character, but she was the third rearmed, back then, the only good one was Grima, and both her and Lif had leg/myth alts to borrow Parts from.
While I agree she's a disappointment either retrospectively, I think back then the hype was pretty low still.
It was the combo of the unit and the weapon for me. Axes in general are just having a rough year.

I just reinstalled FHE and saw I had Brave Tiki... I thought she was good, is she really that bad? ;_;
I agree entirely with the first 4, but only partially with Brv!Tiki. Firstly, she's only powercrept because she came out before Asc!Tiki, but it's very likely that Asc!Tiki was designed first and Brv!Tiki is the result of copy-paste. Harmonic Tiki is also just a result of being aroured, thus coming with all the armoured goodies. Tiki's only fault is her archetype, strong and slow, and in an age where Red has been dominating the meta, she suffers more as a result.
On paper she's great, all those stats and effects, but yeah, she does fall apart on use, especially as an omnitank facing ranged enemies. Result of being appropriately tuned on release instead of overtuned like Seliph and Chrom.
For me the worst this year is Summer Tharja. We finally got it after so long, and she's the demote? She's the most popular character on the banner (except maybe Ivy) why the hell is she the demote? Not to mention her last alt was a prfless 5 star on her own country's banner! Pretty crazy treatment for a character that gets top 10 in cyl women's side basically every single year.

Felix was extremely underwhelming from day 1. Not having a level 4 DR skill was already a red flag. Alear just lowers the enemies speed so much more than Felix.
Black Knight was alright, but thats it. He doesn't really stand out compared to the better, bulkier far savers. A measly 40% first hit dr doesn't help much, especially when its the only form of dr he gets. He's also currently the only PoR unit released in Book 7.
Ganglot gave a good axe and distant stance, but thats it. Ganglot just had bulk and nothing else. NFU just neutered her, as it does for every slowpoke out there.
Alfred definitely suffered from the gimmick of the year. Being a Rearmed hero means that he'll never have a personal weapon tailor made for him. It'd be like Diamant coming with a Arcane sword and losing his gimmick. He would be so underwhelming, just like Alfred. At least he has high defense, but thats it. And of course, the Arcane Luin is better than the Qiang, easily.
As bad as colorless hell is, I'm glad Etie is strong. Since I got Alcryst, I was able to basically make budget Alcryst with all his fodder. The weapon, Deadeye, Flash Sparrow, and Def/Res Smoke 3 all in one go. Very satisfying to get all the Rearmed fodder, especially with much of the bases of these skills being available on grail units.
Brave Tiki is further proof to the meme that IS hates Awakening Tiki. The design was already insulting enough, but she is easily the most powercrept of the 4 brave units. Chrom still puts his [bonuses] boost to use, Seliph still has his miracle sword and movement, Byleth isn't as great but still has Divine Pulse Spd Preempt to fall back on. Tiki has Dragon Wall... She of course also has the Scowl effect which can now be given to every other dragon... Ascended Tiki stole all her thunder by having the same weapon, but also neutralizing bonuses, and having a better C skill that acted as a omnidrive buff for allies, first hit dr of 40% and aoe dr of 80% at max. Then she could also run Dragon wall so she has more dr. On top of that she also has more speed and on par bulk, making her the superior choice between the 2. Then here comes Bridal Tiki with the scowl effect and dragon wall in her weapon, as well as Armored Floe for more dr. And of course she is a Far Saver armor, so she is much bulkier than both Tikis. The only thing all 3 of them needed was the Dist Counter seal, which isn't hard to give them. The only redeeming thing about Tiki, is that she has a guaranteed refine coming next year. You know. Assuming FEH makes it that far of course. By that point, maybe Shadow Dragon Tiki can win the next CYL and be so busted that not even the refine can save Awakening Tiki from irrelevance. That won't happen of course, but maybe it will in some alternate timeline. I'd love to see that one.

I'll add one onto this list one on behalf of the Summoner Duels community since it is a specific case: Embla.
While Embla was busy terrorizing dark season, she was a massive hype machine in SD that quickly died out.

Well, turns out Embla doesn't really negate savior at all in SD because the range on her C skill is tiny taking into account the larger maps and diagonal nature of engagements in the mode. You also need to engage with your units every turn as otherwise the foe ends their turns too quickly thus removing undefended.
Aside from that she lacks Canto, is too frail and doesn't hit hard enough due to lack of DR pierce.
In comparison to the hype she received she ended up as one of the most lukewarm legendaries/mythics of the year.
For SD I’d have to do too 10-20. That mode generates so much panic
I still you my brave Tiki. I gave her time pulse 4 and use Iceberg. She kills way more units with this setup. But it's true that duo Tiki is the better unit. At least since brave Tiki is the clear looser of CYL, she will be a good refine right? right?
If Male Legendary Shez isn't as good as Female Legendary Shez, I will be rioting. I use Female Legendary Shez in every single game mode because she's such an amazing nuke, so if I had 2 of them it would be double the trouble >:)

Meh if i ever took things like this seriously I'd never use any of the units i like to use. I will say it is odd that ganglot is one of the only rearmed units without a unique skill. As for tiki I'll keep using her. I said it then and I'll say it now. I'm glad she wasn't armored. I rarely like armors and barely use them so I'm happy she wasn't. Plus they made one later anyway so whatever now people can have there armor.
Despite the hype, Felix and Tikki were both used for their fodder the second I got them and Black Knight would've been the same had I pulled for him.

Felix is so much better than people think, they are just using him wrong. Legit just fodder a summer fjorm to him and he becomes insane with Spurn 4 and Time's Pulse 4 then give him Astra and he beats all these other godswords 1v1.
This is unintuitive to a lot of people who see him with GLR baseline and think hey that's the best there is. But it isn't. His speed is great except against other godswords like Fjorm so you build him to beat them. Astra is very good against godswords because it overwhelms %DR and he can LOOP it. He doesn't need to double so he's less reliant on speed compared to other godswords, has 30% unconditional DR in his weapon, and has 46 base attack which means his astra hits even harder. No other godsword can do this. He does insane damage while still being very tanky.
Try this build in the feh calculator, i'm not bullshitting. Have Sumemr Fjorm attack first and Felix will survive it and 1 shot her despite giving her the advantage.
Imagine, cyl this year has Robin as a Levin sword grima. Everyone will be so mad, and funny thing is I can see IS thinking that's a good idea.

can i just say that i hope they don't butcher the rest of the TMS crew, including Mirage Tiki; Yashiro is the only character in that game that COUNTERS and we've yet to see a counter-based weapon/special/skill in FEH, damage reduction & retaliation damage don't count like all Fjorms specials & Nyx's weapon which reduce damage and then retaliate based on damage reduced. Hope IS gives the rest of TMS crew a fair kit & able to stand up to todays meta.

Great list and unfortunately I have to completely agree. I must assume that IS sees Young Tiki as the 'real' Tiki because of Archanea and see the adult version as a cameo, whereas Western players likely grew up with Adult Tiki from Awakening and see the young version as a mascot.
I would add:
- Embla. Huge fears that Armor meta was destroyed when she was released, but that actually marked the rise of omnitanks and so nobody uses save armors in AR-O anymore
- Sylvain. Cavalry axe demote without prf? Come on.
- Bruno. He had been with us since the beginning, killed unceremoniously, first alt was an awful seasonal, second alt is an awful grail unit.
- L!Yuri and L!Guinevere. Literally same as their base versions, slightly better.

We’re all just hoping for a good refine
As someone who likes both Tikis and runs a community for Tiki fans, I would like to add that most Tiki fans are not particularly disappointed by Brave Tiki in young Tiki's attire. The motto is generally "Tiki is Tiki." This goes for both JP and EN Tiki communities. The ones upset about it are a loud minority of fans who enjoy adult Tiki but dislike young Tiki. While I respect preference, I do think it is hard to call those that can't respect Tiki regardless of her iteration "fans."
I like both Tikis, but it is disappointing to see that Awakening Tiki is just trying on her baby clothes to show off that they still fit. The main problem is the uncreativeness with the CYL units as a whole. Some of them are fun, like Celica and Alm being illustrated renditions of their original Gaiden box art designs but in the Shadows of Valentia style. I also really like Camilla's design, being that it is a wholly new design for her. The design just being a class ascension are the worst, aka all of CYL 4. I wish CYL would give more original designs for all of the characters, but it is what it is. At this point I feel like the ire has been moved to Awakening Tiki being powercrept by her Ascended Shadow Dragon self. But of course, should they want more legendaries out of Awakening, Tiki is right there.
That's weird because from what I've seen it's a pretty vocal majority of tiki fans and most of them separate the two

@@superpokefan9567 that's a fair perspective. When I say most Tiki fans are not disappointed by it, I mean in the sense that a handful of people are simply upset about it being tied to young Tiki. It is super valid if you find the design to be lazy or unoriginal. I just do not find it valid for someone to hate it because YTiki is tied to it, and they make their hatred for YTiki known while proceeding to label themselves as a "fan" of Tiki, as a fan of a character can have preference while maintaining respect towards all of their iterations if they truly like the character.

in regards to "colourless hell" - I do have to say again that I do not think it is a bad thing if a unit comes without a prf. It allows you the freedom to be creative and build your unit the way that you want.. I truly feel that people get so wrapped up in Arcane Weapons and Prfs vs. No prfs. and "omg no slaying - DOOOM!" that they just forget the fun it can be to see a new seasonal weapon and go "oh, okay this can be fun and interesting."
and i know that a lot of this is due to "meta" but I thin that is also the problem too. not everything HAS to be about the meta some of it should be just tackling old maps or different things and seeing how you can do thing with crazy weapons. (for example Summer L'arachel's staff is a great inheritable staff which could benefit a lot of the demotes). the canto weeapons wre great (and it makes we wish we had a canto tome/canto dagger).
with that being said. I do agree with you about Brave Tiki. really the only other unit who had all their skills passed around like candy were the Byleths. Ayra got their weapon effect in a refine.. then they created the tempo skills (which was part of their weapon). nuts but Tiki has it worse a you said bcuse they built two new tikis - and then they made her weapon effect into a skilll. really bummery.
(as to your question how many omnitanks do you need.... as many as the game will let me. and the majority of mine not as speedy s the top tier ones hehe).
