Btw, the Star Rod is also referenced in Mario Party 8. Even the boss fight where you have to use the Star Rod has you ride a star hoverboard, as if it's a Warp Star.

In the Super Smash Bros. series, there are three Kirby fighters like Kirby, Meta Knight and King Dedede and there are three Kirby assist trophies like the Nightmare, Chef Kawasaki and Knuckle Joe and every Kirby character became a trophy and sticker in Super Smash Bros. Melee, Brawl and 4 and a spirit in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. In Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition, they include a Kirby game called Kirby's Adventure.

@@dropfish3109 During the early development of Kirby's Dreamland, they had a hard time figuring out a good design for the protagonist, so they created Kirby as a place holder. But every one loved the lil' place holder so much, that they decided he would be the perfect protagonist for the game. Thus, Kirby as a character was born. And for the BoxBoy series, the exact same thing happened for it's protagonist, funnily enough.
