I almost failed my finance class in my MBA program because i found out him was cheating. I went to speak to my prof to see what i needed to do on my final to pass the class. I ended up having a small breakdown and cried to my prof about why i was so unfocused. He passed me with a B even though i did not earn it. While grateful, I'm still mad at myself for getting bent and putting my success on the line FOR NOTHING!!!!!!

They do it on purpose they want all of your key memories to be overshadowed by their intentional abuse… you can’t have a good memory without them ruining it with cheating , arguing or jealousy … nothing can make you happy outside of them or they are threatened

My ex-husband is a good man, but we met and got married young, and he turned out not to be a good man for me. We didn't have common dreams and ambitions; our lifestyle values never did align after ten years of marriage. My life stagnated. My mental health declined. I wanted to sell our house and move where I could find work; he wanted to stay in his comfort zone. I wanted to pursue a Masters degree abroad, but I didn't want to go without him. We didn't have common interests and I was very lonely. We did not bring out the best in each other. In retrospect, I married him because I could see that he was a good person and that he cared about me deeply, and I believed that men like that were in short supply. Now I understand the danger in that scarcity mindset, and how male-centered my thinking was. Just because he's a good man doesn't mean you have to marry him!
True.... a good man for one woman is not a good man for another. Some women find controlling men who press the biblical roles so agressively to be a leader and alpha, because her tolerance level is quite high while that good man is toxic to another woman who hates insecure man-child

@@Charlie66276 listen to your instincts. I noticed similar incompatibilities at the start too, but I thought we had enough in common. They will try their best to make you happy but it's not sustainable and you will struggle to stay in love. Trust me, they don't get more interesting with time; if you don't find him fascinating at the start that isn't going to change.
It can be an isolating experience because you feel like you should be happy but something feels off. Most people in your life are probably male centered and they will feel like if he's a good one that's all that matters, not if you make good partners.
Lastly, consider the guy too. It really sucks to hurt a good guy and that might be part of the reason you're still with him. My biggest regret in everything is that I didn't know myself well enough to know what really mattered to me. I thought that him loving me was enough and unfortunately it took me 13 years to realize that it's not. I don't regret our time together but I do regret breaking his heart and taking over a decade of his life.

There’s a difference between having a good man and the right good man for you. I’ve been there. Sometimes, they’re only meant to be our friends (and even then it may only be for a season).
This also applies to male family members, friends, co workers, bosses & roommates… If you’re too happy, too ambitious, too intelligent or too free spirited….it will piss them off. They will try to do things to negatively effect your emotional & spiritual state They will try to sabotage & derail your entire life

this is soooooo true. I tried to help my alcoholic brother get back on his feet because he was homeless...so he came to live with me for a short while. (BIG mistake, do NOT do this) Anyways, I work for a billion-dollar health insurance company and was four years deep with them at the time. Worked hard and got a work at home position BEFORE covid. When I was on the phone talking to providers and members, he would yell out eff bombs hoping that our quality department would hear him and fire me because he was jealous of me owning my home and having a good job. I got rid of him, QUICKLY. Ladies, separate yourselves from ANYONE. Man or woman that does ANYTHING to try to distract or sabotage you from your dreams.

I dropped out of school multiple times because I was giving so much of myself to whatever man I was dating at the time. Almost 10 years later and I still have no degree, and that’s 100% my fault. I should never have sacrificed my goals just so I could be available for a man whenever he wanted me. Those men are gone and I’m still here picking up the pieces of my life and trying to make something of myself.
NEVER give up on yourself just to please someone else. If a man really cares about you, he’d want to see you do better and be able to take care of yourself because he wants to make sure you’ll be ok if anything ever happened to him. He wouldn’t be trying to clip your wings and make you a caged bird. He would care about your wellbeing, and if that means you need to get your education or your career to a reasonable level, he would let you do that. SMH. I messed up bad. Almost a decade of my life gone. Don’t be like me.

I failed the capstone on my masters because the ex narc started an argument every time he saw me working on it. I paid out of pocket to retake it and I went to the campus lab to work on it everyday until I finished and got my degree anyway.

Every woman on both sides of my family has developed Hashimoto's, even before 40. They were all married to men.
I am single and childfree at 40. No Hashimoto's diagnosis so far.
I have had a couple of fibromyalgia bouts throughput my life, but I have chalked that up to societal pressure at various points in my life. Or dealing with a narcissistic parent.
I was talking to this guy on a dating app. He was really fine and I had some hope. After giving him my number, he started acting creepy. He suggested that on our first date we should go camping, I told him that I wasn’t camping with someone I don’t know. Then he started calling me after hours without my permission. I thought that was weird and avoided his calls. I decided to break away and texted him that I didn’t think it was gonna work. The moment he got the text, he texted me back immediately calling me out of my name. Instead of calling him out his name in retaliation, I just told him thank you for showing me who he is and blocked him. I’m 32 and I’m so glad that I listened to my intuition and cut him loose. This wouldn’t have happened if I was 10 years younger, but I’ve learned and paid attention to my pass mistakes.

I have something similar. As soon as we moved off the app to Instragam DMs he showed me a real current photo of himself (nothing like the handsome man in his app pic) and started leaving creepy messages. He wanted to meet up at the lake, but don't you know I started feeling like this man would leave my body at the bottom of the lake? Decided NOT to meet up with him. I deleted all dating apps shortly thereafter.

Every single stitch in this video is a different phase of my life. It made me realize how resilient I have been. I dont give myself enough credit. I have left every situation that has never served me even though I was creepled by fear and everything always turned out well. I had that man who told me it was useless to get a master's degree (but on paper was good guy, he left me and returned to his home country no warning after a 5 year relationship.I was never part of his plans) and it is that master's degree that has gotten out of every hard situation. Go get that degree, decenter men and center yourself.if a situation ship does not serve you leave it. It is better to be alone. There is nothing more satisfying than having to worry about just yourself and not take onto other people's burden.
When God wants to elevate you he creates turmoil but that turmoil is your signal to leave in order for him to do his part. Let go and let God!

I think the concept the OP is speaking about is decentering men. Decentering men is basically putting focus on you, prioritizing you and your happiness. (It has nothing to do with hating men)

She is right about some women who don't have the degree their wanted because of a man. When I was in college, a few girls who were in the first year with me, ended up not coming back to Uni because they moved in with their boyfriends and their bfs told them there's no money for a degree. It's weird because before she moved in with him she had money for that degree, so what happened?
These women don't have degrees now either and they are struggling, some are not even with those guys anymore. So what have they gained long term? Nothing.

Look into CLEP credits through Modern States to shorten your path. You can knock out first year credits by examinations. Also look into attending a community college and see if they have online degrees. Are there any schools and majors you are considering?

It is true being with a man and the wrong man is bad for a women health, wealth, and emotion. Many women are experiencing poverty with kids because of the wrong man. I asked my ex husband for help with SCHOOL supplies and he told me "no, because he has a family now" he made things difficult for me. He even text me for phone sex and I would tell go do that with your wife then his wife found the message and she called me all sorts of names for something he did. Then he ask me why I told showed her the message? He was slightly blaming me for the drama he created.

I think problem we have (im not shaming anyone because I’ve been there too) is we put people on pedestals and idolize them and act as if they’re the last ones on earth or that’s the best we can do as if they’re god and we have to do w e to keep them entertained and “love”us. I think we’re waking up to the fact many women are desperate and have low self esteem which is due to what our parents and grandparents were taught about having a man and a family and never questioned anything so we tend to settle and do things we wouldn’t do if we actually felt that we are worthy and enough and knew we are very powerful. Nobody can do anything or make you feel anything you don’t allow them too.

Experienced a man who destroyed my internhip under my relative and OPENLY RESENTED AND REMIND HIM breaking him over and over while getting back up for me . Left him mentally a husk after he tries to ruins everything i plan to do esp personal and career based goals ....i have no regrets Putting him down and leaving him . His biggest mistake is also he admited to my face HE cheated on me with a teacher ....who he said shes better than me....Well ....call this petty i stayed only To break him so he wont get back up ...for two years broke him enough that he is Numb . Now that hes gone left him miserable like how he did to me i have no regrets he deserves it .
Unpopular opinion but in these situations the women are choosing to stop going to school or building their future. No shade to them, most sound young, but really it's a conscience decision to chase after that man. Find a man who sees your vision and nourishes it. Whether it be school, a business, etc. The grind should never stop because you're in a relationship and a good man would never ever make you choose.
Really this goes for any relationship, whether it's family, friends, or partners. You building your future and doing whays best for you will only enhance your relationship and if they can't see it then they clearly aren't right for you and get tf away from them.

I think most of these women were conditioned/raised to put men 1st and themselves 2nd. It’s hard to unlearn that type of behavior and sometimes you don’t realize it until it’s too late.
They’re choosing to put the man first because they’ve been conditioned to do so. They’ve seen it all their lives so it’s normal. This goes double for people where culture comes into play. In my culture, it is very, very common to bend over backwards for the husband but husbands are never taught to do the same for their wives.
I’m grateful my mission and vision was far more important. I not only had men trying to shift my focus, women were doing it too, in the name of “You should be thinking about marriage and children.”
Guilty. I didn’t finish my Masters (much to my mom’s despair) because of my first boyfriend. Went on to get another post-graduate degree but. I could have had a Masters too.

Im judged for picking sew ins, 😮 fake nails over a two parent home. But what was the chocie. He didnt want to work more than a couple of dollars over minimum wage. He didnt want a lifestyle outside if video games. Didnt even want to move for a better dchool district. I knew it was time to go when what he said didn't align with his actions. And boy was he a dreamer. He told me he wanted to move to germany. I started taking german lessons, got our kids into german lessons. Looking into living abroad. After 2 years of hearing him dream, his only job was to process our passports. They never got done. Despite me taking the photos, getting the applications, etc. Then he switched it up and said we couldn't do anything until i respected him. I left with two kids. I am now preparing to move me and my children overseas in the next year. He is putting up a fight all because he worries "racism" and foreign drug laws would hurt him. Yup. He made sure our lifestyle only kept him comfortable with video games, trees, and his few hobbies. I refused to go into my 40s doing that mess.

I think your views are valid. At the same time, even in marriages, a husband will set his wife back with kids and then turn around and leave said wife, divorce her, and then marry someone else. If you are single, and you are not exercising sense about the men today, then your statement would have a lot of credence. But these men are marrying women on purpose to use them for their resources, and they know the best way to set them back is to impregnate. Add to this and they will just kill you out of sport. Mostly true, but there are more facets to this than you’re making it out to be. People put on a good show and they lie, for years even. Unstable men who’ve been rejected do insane things that ruin lives. It goes far beyond what women “let them do”. People have to be held accountable for their corrosive behavior that creates collateral damage. Why can’t there be accountability from both sides?? If men aren’t held accountable, then the only option for women is to avoid them altogether. Does that seem like a reasonable and sustainable long term solution to you?

It’s so weird it sounds like from everyone that all men will ruin you if given the chance, that it’s up to women to gatekeep them from doing that. It reminds me of the “she wore so-and-so outfit, she was asking for it” rhetoric. Years of being with someone you’re bound to have a down day, week or even months where your self confidence and esteem is just wrecked, or you’re having to lean more on him so you’re not as independent ie health, baby, lost job, so you’re vulnerable to an attack. I think it's funny when I make my girlfriend cry. When I try being sweet to her she acts like she not feeling me.
