Marriage gives men the soft life, and staying single is the key for a soft life for a woman. Marriage nowadays lets men be in their feminine while women are constantly doing, doing ,doing. I’m 70 years old, never married, never even considered it. I had no interest in raising children, I had things I wanted to do and tying myself to another person would interfere with my ability to make my own decisions about what I wanted to do. You can call it selfish if you want, but it would be no less selfish of a man to insist that I abandon my own aspirations to service his. I’m content with my choices, if I had my life to live over there might be things I would change, but the decision to remain independent isn’t one of them.
It is scary to date men. I had to see how a man I married started to show his true colours after years. I had to endure SA and I had to read the stories women who survived tell. I have a child and I am aware what kind of violence men can bring into my life. I would love to meet a good man, but men will try everything to appear as a good man to get what they want.

But finally made exception for a guy who was awkward, poor style, weird body, broke but REALLY SWEET.I didnt care about all the other stuff I just loved how genuine he seemed. We dated even though people made a fuss about why we were together. We just remained very attentive to eachother. As soon as we slept together heimmediately lost interest.-- his explanation was shady at best. The next day was an event we were suppose to go to together. I went alone and he was there but he basically just said he was just done with me. I have zero energy to go through this again and again.
Please block him, if not he will try to come back, they always do. I would have told him that it was fun while it lasted and to take care. Don’t let them know that you are bothered, they love it. Also, the weird, broke and unattractive men are no better than the attractive men with coins so you may as well only date attractive men and NEVER settle for a man that’s broke. I've discovered that no matter how "enlightened" or self sufficient a man is, he will ALWAYS revert to his caveman self if you live with him. Doesn't matter if you have kids or both have jobs. He will expect you to do the lion's share of the housework and cooking and looking after the children. And heaven help you if you are a stay at home mum. If the house isn't pristine with a gourmet meal cooked for when he comes home, you will NEVER hear the end of it.

I realized a year ago that I sabotage my own relationships.. I would go on dates then try to convince myself I want a “happily ever after” but emotionally tapped and could care less.. so now I take myself out to restaurants and shows.. and on one of those comedy shows Bruce Bruce ask women if they take care of their me.. of course they went crazy and when he ask then men.. they were all quiet.. 65 years old. I’m single because in my late 20’s I figured out I have horrible taste in men. If I was attracted to them something was wrong with them and if they were actually decent men I wasn’t attracted to them. A lot of women your age are widows. My MIL is one. She has a fulfilling job, tons of friends, this lady is always traveling, or seeing film festivals...throwing graduation parties for family, baby showers, retirement parties. No time to be lonely. She won't even get a pet bc she's not home enough

I realised I was the problem, so I started working on myself and now I've found my self love and respect, my self esteem and my inner and outer peace. I figured I'm in the best place to be a great partner to someone now that I'm all sorted. But when I thought about having a romantic relationship, I had a feeling of impending doom, like I'd be walking into a dark tunnel in a horror movie. I'm glad I realised that I can keep all those great things about myself and not have to compromise or be concerned with some guy's stuff. Men come with a LOT of people: siblings, parents, kids, exes, work colleagues, friends, and their siblings partners and kids. That is WAY too many people for my peace of mind to handle. Miss me with that clutter.

I chose to be single and celibate for the last few decades was after a guy I knew had situations snuck into my bed with me with no protection while I was 😴 and knew I was 🤰🏿 before I did and when I learned I was two months later and contacted him ,his then gf and I talked...she confronted him about it and he admitted he knew...as in he had been knew....She let me know a lot of things he had said and did were all lies. Even who he was , background wise. He even lied about the death of a child that never existed(my son is his firstborn).He knew I didn't want kids and I had all kinds of protection to protect myself...I was angry and didn't trust another human being (not including my child and my mom) ever again. Not sad he's dead(I was angry for my son and his ex gf's daughter-his only daughter. I had my tubes tied,cut,&burnt six weeks after giving birth and still remain celibate and single to this day. I am by choice and I refuse to settle ever again.🐻

Then I'm home again with the front door locked, heaving a sigh of relief.

I realized a year ago that I sabotage my own relationships.. I would go on dates then try to convince myself I want a “happily ever after” but emotionally tapped and could care less.. so now I take myself out to restaurants and shows.. and on one of those comedy shows Bruce Bruce ask women if they take care of their me.. of course they went crazy and when he ask then men.. they were all quiet.. I laughed bc all those women paid for their men to be there.. I left proud

65 years old. I’m single because in my late 20’s I figured out I have horrible taste in men. If I was attracted to them something was wrong with them and if they were actually decent men I wasn’t attracted to them. No way I wanted to spend my life with someone who would cheat, do drugs, not work, was an alcoholic, abusive, or any number of bad traits. So I quit dating. Lonely seldom but not enough to trust my judgement when it comes to picking a decent man.
A lot of women your age are widows. My MIL is one. She has a fulfilling job, tons of friends, this lady is always traveling, or seeing film festivals...throwing graduation parties for family, baby showers, retirement parties. No time to be lonely. She won't even get a pet bc she's not home enough
I'm in my late 50s. I also have horrible taste in men. I realised I was the problem, so I started working on myself and now I've found my self love and respect, my self esteem and my inner and outer peace. I figured I'm in the best place to be a great partner to someone now that I'm all sorted. But when I thought about having a romantic relationship, I had a feeling of impending doom, like I'd be walking into a dark tunnel in a horror movie. I'm glad I realised that I can keep all those great things about myself and not have to compromise or be concerned with some guy's stuff.
Men come with a LOT of people: siblings, parents, kids, exes, work colleagues, friends, and their siblings partners and kids. That is WAY too many people for my peace of mind to handle. Miss me with that clutter.
I'm single because I like my peace and space. I also love not worrying for the other shoe to drop since men always have something evil that they're hiding.

I chose to be single and celibate for the last few decades was after a guy I knew had situations snuck into my bed with me with no protection while I was 😴 and knew I was 🤰🏿 before I did and when I learned I was two months later and contacted him ,his then gf and I talked...she confronted him about it and he admitted he knew...as in he had been knew....She let me know a lot of things he had said and did were all lies. Even who he was , background wise. He even lied about the death of a child that never existed(my son is his firstborn).He knew I didn't want kids and I had all kinds of protection to protect myself...I was angry and didn't trust another human being (not including my child and my mom) ever again. Not sad he's dead(I was angry for my son and his ex gf's daughter-his only daughter. I had my tubes tied,cut,&burnt six weeks after giving birth and still remain celibate and single to this day. I am by choice and I refuse to settle ever again.🐻

I never consider being at home as "cooped up:" My home is my sanctuary and my peace and I love it so much. If I want the chaos of the world in my face, I'll watch the news. If I need stuff from the stores, I'll go out during the day when others are at work. Take myself to lunch at a cafe, read my book in peace while I eat. Then I'm home again with the front door locked, heaving a sigh of relief.
