Creating kill barriers to punish players instead of just turning the geometry's collision on is so quintessentially Rockstar.
Yep. Rockstar troubleshooting 101... Put kill barrier to say "What glitch? You must be mistaken!"
i mean it reduces chances that somebody will attempt to find out of bounds glitches in online. get 2 birds with 1 stone. 1stly it prevent player doing it to this out of bounds and 2ndly: it reduces chances that player will actively look for out of bound places because they might lose stuffs for it.
@PrimePalYT Except you don't lose really anything for dying besides a max of 5K for hospital bills. That's spare change in GTA.
Rather than ensure players aren't abusing bugs by just patching them so they are physically unable to abuse them, they instead choose a dumber, less direct approach that can still be abused with invincibility mods/glitches.
@@denverbeek and then if they mod menu it, they can easily be banned if they are unfortunate.
@@PrimePalYT "Easily"? Most modders don't even get reported because mod menus come with report intercept features, and even the ones that DO get successfully reported rarely get banned.
Not to mention, GTA 5 has a long history with invincibility glitches that don't even require a mod menu.
24:41 This one was specifically patched because people in CEO businesses can exploit them to hide from players while doing CEO missions and events in freemode for free money. This is also the case for a few other OOB patches.
Edit: Also UA-camrs in the past have shown off specific OOBs which have made a handful of them popular. Another reason for some of them being patched.
UA-camrs making videos on every OOB and exploit getting them patched is the GTA equivalent of somebody bookmarking the flash game website on a school computer and getting it blocked. Somebody always has to do it and mess it up for everybody, rather than it just being passed by word of mouth / players showing other players in the game.
I seriously miss the ragdoll dive in GTA V that is now absent in online. Glitches aside its so fun to just dolphin dive at friends
Exactly! In SP I was always doing that as Trevor just for his surprised reactions. It reminds me of Saints Row III with the insurance scams iirc
I remember when they first released the trailer for GTA Online. My first thought was "I can't wait to jump and ragdoll" because of how funny I imagined it would be. Then when it finally released, I tried to jump and press the circle button to intentionally ragdoll. Much to my surprise, it worked. But this was on day of launch of Online where the servers were overloaded with users and it kept kicking you out before you could even finish the starting part with Lamar. When that was all fixed, it wouldn't let me ragdoll. I presume there's a script which overwrites the controls and player movement to removes the ability to ragdoll intentionally or by jumping into things, but that script just failed to run due to the issues at launch. My disappointment was immeasurable to say the least 🤣🤣

I remember the good days when we would go around jumping against shit until we found something. Never found one on our own but it was still fun. The one by the red parking garage was a fun escape

11:09 this was actually patched due to the cop uniform glitch back in the early days of gta online because you used to parachute to the apartment garage during a mission to then save the uniform as a preset
I remember in the 360 I used to drive under the red parking lot and jump to the subway.
In the Mid Gen it was fixed and many props were placed there as well.
It still works if you do it with a TM02 Khanjali or a Rhino, you gotta blow the fences and stuff outta the way then use the cannon gun to push yourself into it
13:39 This one is actually really cool as you can fly a Deluxo up through the gap, drop down, then fly under the map. In this way you can get into Bahama Mamas and even take a friend. Use an up-n-atomizer gun to restore the camera when you get out the car.
I wouldn't call the ones that kill you "fixed", you still can fall out of bounds, but you die after it, making it much worse when a player stumbles upon them accidentally
That's how they fix most of em, just adding the kill barrier is enough.
simple way to think of it is we're working under rockstars definition of "fixed" not a normal definition
You have to lower some expectations with Rockstar Games. Adding a collider box to prevent doing it? Pfft, lets just do the laziest thing possible.
watch the beginning of the video, if you go on a misson/heist, it removes that death at the bottom
I guess it's easier to implement deadzones because it might not require a game update. Changes to the actual world, collision mesh or whatever would probably only work with updates. They didn't fix the design flaws, you just die when using them.
My definition of fixed doesn't apply to whatever rockstar did with OOB. They may have fixed the exploits, but not the collision... when doing the latter would also solve the first.
I love OOB glitches! They're so fun to find, i've managed to find a lot of them, i can indeed confirm there are over 100 of them in GTA Online, even over 150. Also tbh i wouldn't call putting a Death Barrier a "fix", since these Death Barriers often leads to some new problems, as in randomly dying out of no where. But yeah, Great video, Matto! :)
Call it a patch over the cracks as the glitch is still there, it's just now covered by a death barrier.
Hey Matt. I think most of the bridges oob are fixed because back in the day they were used for glitches. Some of them were used to keep locked mission outfits that you can't buy outside of missions like a bag or police uniform
After guessing correctly on the out of bounds in the convenience store, Matt had 7/11 correct.

6:35 this one was fixed but not all the way, there is a way to avoid the death barrier and get out of bounds to this day.
I figured with the introduction of Nano Drones in the Casino Heist update, that's when people stopped using wall breaches to grief. As soon as you killed a player they would immediately know where you are, and could retaliate away from your line of site.
God forbid there be 2 players with a Nano Drone, they'd stun lock you until you quit the game, lol.

24:45 Only the right window kills you if you use a tall vehicle you can climb in the other windows and still use that out of bounds. You can also shoot out the side facing the main road next to it.

I feel like the death barriers are more favoured than just collisions or respawning by the devs so they feel slightly more power over players.

The first one in the Dam or whatever in the countryside is fun to do in singleplayer or multiplayer, I mostly love out of bounds glitches for the cops! And since its in the countryside it spawns countryside police which is rare! I honestly dont care about pvp but just messing with the cop Ai is so fun!
Rockstars definition of a "fixed" out of bounds for online are kill boundaries

15:40 same for every out of bounce near the airport.
This spot is only "patched" because they added a huge death plane in that entire spot, near it was a spot that was used to get an deluxo out of bounce, this was then used to fly to the air port to drop it into the interior of the night club to dupe it.
The fixed OOB's "with texture" have all been cases where the correct LOD-Model (including the objects carrying the "solid"-flag) did not load before. This complete group might have been fixed in one single procedure.... This leaves us with "non-fixed" and "death-plane added" as groupings. - In conclusion: The only ones R* "really" bothered with are the ones that contain death-planes now...
And these "death barriers", as i call them, lead to some unpleasant experiences, as in randomly dying in a spot because the death barrier has been misplaced, i know a few spots that have this issue.
24:42 likely fixed because it made for a great camping spot when doing the Wanted challenge within CEO organisations.
24:53 There's a CEO/VIP Work called Executive Search and sometimes it would be in the Vespucci Canals where they abuse that glitch spot during the work.
You can actually drive the deluxo into the bride OOB at 33:33. 100x easier to get in with the deluxo than the MkII
Would have loved to see you verse someone like the Professional or another GTAO veteran for quizzes like these.

Do we really consider instant player kill as a fix? Fix should mean, that all collisions has been fixed, and you can not access this area anymore. It only shows how lazy R* is...
Quality vid DVau, I know a few that I didn’t see in the video (granted may have overlooked, as there’s a lot here). The union depository car park one where you glitch into the wall adjacent to where ramped road is. Using a cargobob you can glitch into the fib building, that’s a fun one. Can glitch under map in ammunition store (near casino) via atomiser on top of drinks machine. Where you park your sub for Cayo setups, to the right on the beach, there’s a lot of big round rocks, you can glitch under map there, that’s a pretty cool one tbh. Lastly in east Los santos near the nightclub where you had Michael JetSki with his daughter, there’s a big building (close to the Smokemart 😉) where you can climb into a glitch spot. Enjoyed the vid 😊. Curious, maybe not the place, will you be doing a follow up ramble on the BD vs TGG drama ?

The bridge one where you said if it was easier to do it would've been better, it is actually easier you can just take your deluxo up in there or maybe you can even put the MK2 up in there but the guy that you saw was just jumping off trying to make it.
Also if all the glitches that people found get patched then we could easily find more by using the insurgent and taking the backdoor off, that's how I've actually found plenty more glitches that nobody else has found.
The beach bridges out of bounds glitch was the most broken glitch along with the facility avenger out of bounds, especially for the time period it was around, at the time every single free for all, every 1v1, every fight in general was at the beach, and if you fell in the bridges you could snipe anyone on the beach with thermal

the one at the club is half patched, if you wedge into the wall enough, facing the door (edit, the direction of the door, not literally aiming at the door, I should say facing the wall the door is on), it still works..even patches are incompetent.
Rockstar patches are like Bethesda patches; paper over the cracks so they can say it's been fixed.

The one probably I fall through is the at the start of Casino heist where you stuck in the building and need to use Out of bounds to fall through and teleported back to the street

Whats confusing about most of the fixes is that they fixed them with Death Barriers? Its like they saw other games use death barriers and used it instead of making a simple wall or just not let the player legde grab. Like its so weird
Exactly. They could have put in collision detection before the place so even then it's "fixed" (albeit not properly). Apparently that's not Rockstar's way.
12:19, im so confused lol, the NPC is only visible in the radar. Guessing the radar is a different clip and has been placed upon the other one, but still, everything lines up and stuff. The NPC also fades away at the corners of the map.

33:22 is much easier to do with a Deluxo. You can just fly it right into the bridge, park it in there, and then get out

hello Matt, I've been watching your content for around 3 years now and really, what I want to say is I hope you're doing great both physically and mentally. I really enjoy this kind of episodes. Furthermore I find it a lot interesting and entertaining than the compilation videos. For someone who is regurarly watching your stuff, these kind of additions like a quiz game about some particular topic e.g. out of bounds are making the videos a lot more fun to watch. "fixing" an out of bounds with just killing you, when you enter it, is so Rockstargames
unless i missed one, there is an out of bounds glitch using the arcade. you need 2 people, the axe of fury on a very specific location in your arcade and another arcade machine to get stuck on. one person needs to use the axe of fury while the other one goes close to them, something with the axe of fury makes the person not interacting with it walk away. if you place another arcade machine so when the guy who isn't using the axe of fury walks into it and gets stuck on it for a while. you will get pushed under the arcade safe and can walk under the arcade. if you walk far enough away from the arcade you will start falling for a while, and eventually get teleported to the noose headquarters.

For number 10, its very difficult to get inside but just a month ago my friend and I got behind the bar using this method so technically it still works.
A easy way for online is if you don’t have the payo perico dlc idk how to say it but try and join the heist for it it’ll spawn you in the submarine with nothing in it and all the lights off if you walk through one of the doors you’ll be out of bounds
Till this day after years ik this one spot right in the smack middle of the city that you could shoot and kill out off and survive explosions

Matt forgot about the out of bounds area near the airport and it was kinda obscure as you had to climb through a wall to get out of bounds, its just down the road from the 1337 Exceptionalists Way garage, you had to climb over a small rock then the wall behind it wasn’t solid so you could fall under the map but this one has been patched as they added a death zone there
ls customs still works in multiple locations by using the rag doll method using first person camera allows you to see outside normally. Plus you can still get inside the construction tower with the oppressor. There is scaffolding that is missing the net on the top that all the other scaffolding has so you can just drop in. It's the only way in and you can shoot out in multiple areas.
I know about a glitch in director mode where if you explode a helicopter in front of the fib building,you will be inside of the fib buildings parking lot and after walking you will fall under the map
Well, a lot of glitching and hacking does kick everyone out of the session, which is a lot rude.
I vividly remember using the OOB at 25:35 to unlock the NVG's or the rebreather or something in online a few years back
That barbershop wall breach was OP back in PS3 & 360. I remember people going there when they into a large free mode war just to get easy kills. Plus the one under the parking garage ramp and the mall by LS Customs

Did you know, that in GTA online if you go to Franklin’s house in the hills, there will be two high priced cars that are completely invincible. You cannot get in them or explode them.
pvp community makes modded jobs for every under map spot btw and any wallbreach above the map is still wallbangable with thermal helmet and if ur far enough for render distance to not load the wall
Majority if not all of these out of bounds that get patched are patched due to people using them for dupe glitches/godmodes and or was a place people used often to greif others

at 6:36 u can still go out of bound by just go to the corner and not die by the barrier
