- In this episode of our Black Desert Online Boss Mechanics Explained series (5 of 9), we're taking a deep dive into the combat strategies for one of the game's toughest foes, Gumiho.
Get ready to master every trick up his sleeve!
With our step-by-step walkthrough, you will master the boss mechanics, ace the attack patterns, and conquer the gruelling five phases to defeat the powerful Gumiho.
First off, it's important to note that Gumiho incorporates one-shot wipe mechanics and abilities throughout the fight. You'll need to use the green, blue, and red Vials, obtained through Gumiho story quests, to navigate some of these mechanics.
Moving onto Gumiho's attack patterns, the four key attacks are the Breath, Whirlwind, Fire Attack, and Gumiho Clones. Each has its unique characteristics and countermeasures, all of which we delve into in the video. From learning to move behind Gumiho during the Breath Attack to identifying the real Gumiho among the clones, you'll get to learn these nuances in detail.
The epic fight with Gumiho is divided into five phases. Phase 1 serves as a warm-up round with no special mechanics but a showcase of Gumiho's basic attack patterns. In Phase 2, which begins when Gumiho's HP reaches 60%, the boss splits into two Gumihos, with the challenge lying in identifying and defeating the Gumiho with the correct necklace color.
Phase 3 signals the advent of the deadly blue fire, which gradually fills the boss room. With the help of the Blue Vial, you can extinguish the flames and survive this phase. Phase 4 brings about an onslaught of baby Gumihos which, while easier to defeat, can still pack a punch if underestimated. With strategic use of the Red Vial, you can extinguish the flames created upon killing the baby Gumihos.
Finally, in Phase 5, you'll be left one-on-one with Gumiho once again, and now it's all about focusing on the attack patterns. Patience and vigilance will carry you to victory.

fun fact if you not using remaster mode you cant see some AoE, i guess dev forgot not everyone like remaster mode

Thought that too, he literally jumps in the air to load an attack or something and as soon as he lands he oneshots me. Cant even see the AOE. Stupid boss.
Thank you, are PA for real? Starting with C4 she randomly does an attack that keeps messing me up, some kind of blue fog, I can't see anything. Unbelievable.

I definitly can recommend getting all white orbs first for this boss.. it took me some time as well to beat him but I definitly gathered experience for higher calamity stages :)

You can use the green bottle to root the fake fox in phase 2 when he's exhausted. Then it's basically phase 1. Very helpfull for c6 upwards because then Gumiho can use a dash that will usually oneshot you and you don't want two Gumihos dashing like crazy.
Ohh I thought it was only for calamity 1-4. For these stages it isn't really neccessary imo.
Next week I'm going for higher calamities and try if it's working. Thanks for the update :)
omg i've wasted more than 2h trying to do c6 and i gave up cause of the 2 fox i lost my mental to them and now u tell me all i had to do is this ? @_@ ty so much man

Hi, i was wondering about the rewards. Is there any difference between lets say Calamity 4 and Calamity 7?? What if i just stay at C4?

You get them by completing the story or if you have lost them, talk to Seungsan at the entrance of Yeowoo Cave to obtain these again.

What are the green orbs around the battle area?
With these orbs you can heal yourself if you hit them. The longer an orb is in the arena untouched, the bigger it grows and it's effect becomes stronger. In every boss arena these are placed always at the same location. They are very important since you cant use potions in these fights :)
@@CriticalPerformance thanks for the reply. Not sure about unable to use potions. I tried doing calamity 1 of gumiho and i can use the regular hp potions.
have anybody fight with warrior this gumiho fight and won ? im stuck in phase 4 cos i lose everytime in phase 4

You're telling me I have to redo the story for every character I want to do this boss with?! I did the story on a char I don't even do boss rush with smh.
EDIT 2: reading is a skill... ahem, you can just replace them by talking to someone. Why they make them character bound in the first place is beyond me, but then I'll never understand PA anyway so

I did this boss(C-1) without the orbs and got reckt. So I'm like, ooooookay, where do I get the other orbs. Stupid me, go do the quest!!! Lmao
It's not hard when you know what to do, but hitboxes and aoe markers kinda suck. So you can easily find yourself hit by seemingly nothing.

Enemies make sounds.
Turn the game sounds on when you mention a mechanic.
Audio queues in this game happen before animations/damage.
IT helps a lot.
Growling = actual growl
use the video to splice in the sound of the growl or simply turn the game audio on
Don't talk over it.
