“Doing good for animals and the planet, but sometimes you miss things like flavor and friends.” As a Vegan, this backhanded compliment made me smile pretty hard

It's actually not good for the planet. What we need to replace that amount of calories and proteins, minerals etc. is twice as much production and harvesting etc. Not to mention the millions of tons of fertilizers that need to be manufactured since the natural source of fertilizers are gone.
The healthiest thing to do for the planet is to buy local and sustainable.

Gluten Free is not healthy, contra gluten, that's proven facts. Just like under 1% can't tolerate gluten but many think ist pure poisons. Its not.

I think it just depends on the type of pasta. Shirataki/konjac noodles and rice pastas are both fairly delicious, but they can definitely taste odd in comparison to wheat pasta ;u;

Chao is legit the best vegan cheese substitute hands down. It melts wonderfully, it’s delicious and creamy. As a non-vegan, it goes right up there with oat milk.

I was so glad that they picked chao, it's my go-to vegan cheese. The sun-dried tomato flavored one is the best, tastes amazing melted on top of a tofu scramble.

As a fake dairy connoisseur, a lot of vegan cheese brands don't make all types of cheese. They most likely went with the most popular brand for that type of cheese

I recently went dairy free for my health and Chao is by far my favorite. It’s even good melted on burgers, which is hard to say for a lot of non-dairy cheese alternatives 😂

Miso has an umami taste to it, so that could definitely explain the savory, meaty-like flavor they are talking about in the last cheese.

I honestly prefer violife for “basic vegan cheeses,” so like cheddar or mozzarella as of now. I didn’t love their cream cheese however.

Josh is not lying though :/ most GF pasta brands are not that great. There are a few brands where you can't tell it's GF, but most just break apart and have a strange aftertaste. I would know. Someone close to me has a Gluten Intolerance.
Heather Gonzalez oh yeah that’s why it’s funny because it’s so true. Well I haven’t had gluten free stuff but many people I know say it breaks apart and tastes weird.
@@SilviaNight99 the solution to "bad taste" in gluten free food is just to read the ingredients and make sure they are ingredients that you enjoy and that go together. I've noticed some GF marketed products mash random things together and call it a gluten free alternative but they don't use any of the original ingredients anymore

Rice pasta is the only GF pasta that isn't disgusting. All of the quinoas/corn based ones turn into mush and never should've been pasta in the first place haha

Chao vegan cheese, is pretty fantastic, tastes just like real cheese.
Try the other Miyoko's cheeses!!!! They're so delicious. Miyoko's isn't even comparable to these other nasty cheeses. Miyoko Schinner is a genius!

I personally use the chao shreds for stuff like salad and pizza and I use either the chao slices or follow your heart slices for sandwiches and burgers. And then Ferrell on Amazon has a FANTASTIC ranch mix that I personally like more than dairy ranch. My favorite dairy free ice creams are 1 Vanilla Cake & Cookie Dough by targets “favorite day”. 2 So’s s’mores flavor. And 3 So’s vanilla ice cream bars. Dairy free butter only works in like stuffing I use miyo. That’s just what I’ve found to like as a picky eater
