Idk if someone already said this... but for those who just want the fight to be over with: cast reflect on your party, then what you do is have everyone cast curaja on each other while on the reflect status and then you’re basically unstoppable for this fight
One minor thing i like about Zalera is him constantly having the shamaness wrapped around him. In the lore, he took her as a hostage, and yet here it seems almost intimate at how he holds her closely all the time.
12 has the most impressive summons just on the fact that you literally summon them instead of just invoking their power. They arrive, and you control them. It's an actual SUMMON.
Wish i knew this earlier, the fact that i used to sweat a lot as a kid because of not knowing what mechanism should i handle and the amount of skeleton minions keep spawning overwhelming me somehow
I love Zalera. He represents Gemini which is my sign and the way he looks is so cool with the Shamaness attached to him like that. Plus the fight was definitely in my tops of Esper Fights.
@@gavinerickson9392I picked that up when I first saw him. Zalera = Sephiroth and the Shameness = Well, she could be seen as JENOVA since he was clinging to her head in the Nibelheim flashback.
Looks like whoever is playing had a tough time with this fight... Why didn't they try to cure Disable, Stop, or Sleep when it hit? Disable especially is dangerous since if your entire party gets hit with it, it's an automatic game over... In any case, interesting job combos. For my 1st playthrough, I've got: - Vaan: Black Mage/Monk - Balthier: Bushi/Shikari - Fran: Monk/Foebreaker - Basch: Knight/Time Battlemage - Ashe: White Mage/Knight - Penelo: Shikari/White Mage
Yep. You can Summon them out and there's a chance they'll use their ultimate attack if the conditions are right. In case of Zalera he uses Condemnation with less then 30% of enemies HP left. You don't exactly control them in battle like in other games (i.e FFX and VII Remake).
@@TrevorCurbo But it's only basic commands I believe. You can't control when they use their Ultimate Attack is what I was actually meant to say. You have to have the right conditions in order for them to use it.
For value, he's the best 1 bar summon in the game (but that's comparing him to 2 bar and 3 bar summons of which few can actually beat Zodiark and Ultima). In Revenant Wings, he is the third most powerful tier 3 summon after Bahamut and Zodiark. In FFTA 2, he is considered a decent choice, but does not compare well to Shemhazai in terms of raw damage output.
Easy way to win: equip weapons that can damage Zalera while he has Dead Bones in play, then have that equipped character(s) character blitz the boss until he dies. Everyone else, kill the skeletons.
My proven tactic is to dispel its reflect and repeatedly cast curaja... Boom he's dead in less than 2 minutes. Added tip.. Make sure party is at level 49, 77, or 91 to make party immune to its level based attacks
As old as a game this is, it still holds up visually like it has its own distinct style. I just wish we could zoom out the camera like in ff14 to see more of the battle area.
For an esper battle, he's easier than Addramelech. He doesn't put up palings and his minions aren't that special. He just kills you one by one at a very slow rate.
Easiest fight, non of Zalera's skill can damage you, the only source of his damage are those skeletons which is low. All of zalera's skills depends on your character's level, to make it short just fight him once your character's individual level is divisible by 2, then equip quasimodo boots, then its cheese time even at low level.
Boss fight database u should use swords for vaan and zodiac spear for basch and bows for Fran and penlo and swords for ashe and swords blather if ashe blather and vaan get stronger give them greatswords maces and daggers are weak.
This is zodiac age version, you cant equip whatever weapon you want in every character. It all depends in the jobs you choose. Also, even if you want to make fran and penelo archers they are terrible archers actually because their stats and attack animation with bows.
i just beat this mothafvckers, all my party lv 37, ashe 38, basch 42. all dead because of him using 3 times his ulti, 2 left, one healer tank ashe, one slow heavy hitter support vaan, final hit around 600 to 800 damage finally finish him off.
Idk if someone already said this... but for those who just want the fight to be over with: cast reflect on your party, then what you do is have everyone cast curaja on each other while on the reflect status and then you’re basically unstoppable for this fight
That's exactly how I did it on my second playthrough. Go through the fight in a few minutes.
One minor thing i like about Zalera is him constantly having the shamaness wrapped around him. In the lore, he took her as a hostage, and yet here it seems almost intimate at how he holds her closely all the time.
It's definitely Stockholm syndrome, but I love it.
And now she's quite literally fused to that wing, but they're an interesting Esper as they represent Gemini.
The shamaness looking at the water goddess Mateus has chained in front of him "eh, I could be worse"
I love that the giant skull that summons Zalera, has the Vagrant story Cross ^^
Thanks bud, really appreciate it. ☺️
Both games take place in the same world.
ff12 have the best summons
Especially Zodiark :3
Nah, 13 does
DigimonVids shut up dumb
@@DigimonVids 13 is the most boring and stupid summons.

12 has the most impressive summons. Zodiark's deathblow is insane, but nearly all are impressive by their look. Zalera is one of them.
12 has the most impressive summons just on the fact that you literally summon them instead of just invoking their power. They arrive, and you control them. It's an actual SUMMON.
It kind of looks like Zalera actually kind of cares for the shamaness he bound to himself. That or he just refuses to ever free her.
Jordan Smith both actually. Overtime they grown to care for one another but it's still toxic.
OMG, I thought I was the only one who thought about that. Its almost like they have a romantic bond
Stockholm syndrome 😛
Heh..Yeah..
Makes me wonder if Zalera ever gets "freaky" with the shamaness. 🤔
In the original game, I beat him using Healing Magics since his Undead nature.
Guido Valentini me too, I used reflect on my party and had everyone cast curaja on themselves attacking everyone around them
In the first game, and all remakes after that, I never was this troubled against Zalera. I don't believe my eyes :DD
Same

First time on PS2: "Oh sh*t, it's Elmdoor! Invincibility and time limit? Screw that, I'm grinding."
Gets to lv. 55 or so. "Wow, that was pathetic."
I love Zalera. He represents Gemini which is my sign and the way he looks is so cool with the Shamaness attached to him like that. Plus the fight was definitely in my tops of Esper Fights.
I'm here because I love his reincarnated self as Hades/Emet in XIV. So good! Also a gemini/
He's also a reference to Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII along with his host in Final Fantasy Tactics.

If there is one thing that disappoints me in FF XII is that we can't use dual wielding but the guest characters can.
Idea for 16

When I fought Zalera I didnt even notice the time limit. He isnt the toughest esper. Is he good to summon though?

Zalera looks like Ainz and Albedo from Overlord
Yeah..I totally do🤔
I was using mods when I got here, so everybody in my party was level 35. I am so glad 35 isn't a prime number.

love the design
Zalera somewhat looks like Anima from FFX and when you summoned him he'll laugh like Kefka but overall still kickass.
When I fought this guy, I used the classic reflect and Fire spell on party. Massive damage.
Would of been even more damage if you did cura instead.
I messed this esper twice because it has a zodiac gem. Watch out if it has Reflect. You need composite level number for beating Zalera
I remember zalera is weak to healing. I casted curaja to it
Marquis elmdor without wearing genji set
Huh. So that’s where Crazy Catastrophe’s attack is from...
I heard this thing fights like Sepheroth. I don't see it.

ZALERA JUST... FK IT UP SHEMHAZAI IN JUST 1 SKILL 'O'
