    Hey!! In Indian cuisine we make these fritters..the difference is we add thinly chopped onions, jalapeños, cilantro and deep fry them..they taste awesome as is or with a mint cilantro chutney..also the batter that u made..we dip boiled egg thinly sliced or thinly sliced potato and deep fry it..do try that too :)

    just made these, my batter was a little loose, maybe a little less water next time and I didn't have a cookie scoop so they spread out a bit. having said that, they were absolutely delishous and will definitely make them again

    Mind didn't came out like your's pfuff it was like small pancake. but it taste good, because my daughter hate everything with chickpea flour.
    And love that one. How much is 1/4 teaspoon. And the half cup of water was not enough for me.

    I made these, but the center is never fully cooked. I ended deep frying them the traditional way to make bonda. How long do you cook these?

    I look forward to trying this recipe! For someone who asked about where to buy the chickpea flour, I buy it at an Asian Market where it's labeled "besan" or "gram." Hope this is helpful.

    Thank you for this great little recipie , This will be my new go to snack. The best part is its protein and healthy. I will make the batter a little thicker and bake them, to cut back on all the oil. 😉✔🍒👌💖

    Where can you get chickpea flower?

  • @xterasss
    @xterasss 9 років тому

    Looking first at the picture, it gave the impression of being "baked". I was wondering if you were going to line them in muffin tins. But the shallow frying in olive oil was great. Also, its a useful tip to use the floor and not the cooked beans (unless one wants to make patties). The puff texture - without use of eggs - is wowww. Once I tried a similar one with split pea flour, and it did not come that well. Chickpea flour is definitely a much better option. At ~0.26 min, were you trying a humus spread? Thanks for posting.

      @FifteenSpatulas  9 років тому

      xterasss Awesome! Yes I had hummus, tzatziki, baba ghanoush. It felt a little funny spreading the hummus on the chickpea fritters...chickpeas upon chickpeas! haha

    In India Chickpea flour is commonly used for savoury snacks such as onion bonda (onion fritters) bhajjis. They are so yummy, chickpea flour is also used to make Indian sweets as well like Dhokla, besan ka laddoo etc..

    Worried me there for a minute..."Good for me, and tastes good too?" That's a violation of nature and makes my brain lock up. But you saved yourself...you fried it! Fried anything has gotta be good (I think I would even eat fried dirt). At first Sock Monkey wouldn't eat this because he thought the "chick peas" were made of baby chickens! I explained to him they were vegetables...his answer "Then why eat?" He's 5...give him a break.

    • @FifteenSpatulas

      Sock Hawk Hahaha, very true! Fried stuff is quite tasty =) That's also hilarious about the "chick peas" lol

    May be this comment must have been posted in your frittata post (ua-cam.com/video/eUxG7Wh9oBk/v-deo.html). But - drawing inspiration from your use of chickpea flour in this recipe - have you considered egg-free frittata using chick pea flour?
