I remember when I searched "grizzly bear" on youtube looking for footage of grizzly bears out in nature. This came up. It didn't have 200 views at the time. A lot in my life experiences has changed since finding this.
This song has the BEST ending EVER those keyboard notes during the ending have certainly been channeled from some higher plane of existence, they are the sound of some kind of sensation, feeling, beauty indescriptible to words.
Definitely one of the greatest bands post 2000, one my favorites at least. These guys, Crystal Castles, Animal Collective, etc were my guys in high school
There aren’t any words to articulate how deeply I feel for Grizzly bear. It’s like I’ve been born into this world and it took me until I was 15 years old to finally discover them, but when I did everything made sense in a way. Each song made sense. Each chord strum and all vocal harmonies. I’m now 30 year old and I’m still in love with Grizzly bear and all of its previous members as if I were 15 first discovering them. I would love to go on and on but I feel like no one will read this so I will save my words because I’m sure most grizzly bear fans understand what I’m trying to articulate. It’s hard to explain feelings of melancholic joy and other things all wrapped up in one!! I hope to see more works from Christopher Bear and Daniel Rosen and I’m so so so in love with the work they did on Past Lives Soundtrack. One of my favourite movies of all time. Sobbing in theatre. Peace
gbear was my first concert ever at hamilton college. ed was def drunk and performed like it lol. i saw them again at the williamsburg waterfront and then once more at radio city music hall and they were electric. amazing band. i still haven't heard anything that sounds the same way or invokes the same feelings. thanks for all these years! happy i got to exist at the same time as them.
I have been a fan of Grizzly Bear & this song since I was 14 years ol; I am 32 YO now. I remember whenever the band & this song were barely known and now thousands of people share the same feelings this song gives. It touches the inner depths of my soul every single listen no matter the time that has passed. I will always come back to this song. I will say the video is not recommended for those who are beginners in psychedelics from experience.
i want you to know... when i look in your eyes with every blow comes another lie you think it's alright you think it's alright you think it's alright ................................ can't you feel the knife? can't you feel the knife? can't you feel the knife?
I met Ed Drost at the Sly Fox in NYC. I told him I love his music and he said thanks and shook my hand. He seemed like a nice guy. The two things that struck me is that Ed is a giant. Like he could talk onto the Jets' practice squad as is. Like a large man. The other thing is that he was smiling and happy. I never saw him like that, hahaha.
I was just thinking how every one of their videos strike me like that. Indescribably beautiful, inscrutable but - at the same time - achieving some sort of closure that makes perfect sense, even if you can't really explain how. They just feel right.
I heard this for the first time just after my very first integratron sound bath experience - almost 14 years ago. Monumental pivot point in my life. I'm so thankful for this whole album 🙌 💓 🎧
this is the kind of song, more then a decade on, that I find my self belting out at 2am, drunk, walking down a empty road with my phone out of battery.
14 years old now, damn..... I remember seeing this video, and then serendipitously, I found myself at MoMA when Bjork was debuting her Encyclopedia Pictura directed video for wanderlust, IN 3D!!
I remember having the worst flu of my life in about March 2015 - cold sweats to the point you feel like being sick. For some reason i came across this video then and i can’t associate it with anything else.
I frist heard this song while eating at PF Chang's with my 4 month old daughter and her mother....I thought I was listening to the beatles so I pulled out my iPhone, switched apps from Simpson' tapped out to Soundhound and realized it was this song..... been hooked ever since.... THis is what really occurred!
First watched this and heard this song in 07/08 living with my cousin as a teen. I was tripping balls on shrooms in the laundry closet 😂 great memories
I had a school project about grizzly bears in 3rd grade and this was what I came up when I searched it. It burned itself into my mind and I struggled to get back to work lol. It’s just so bizarre and strange it really creeped me out
always loved grizzly bear. always. but i heard this song live in pittsburgh while rolling on molly, and let me just say: i don't think i ever felt so complete.
a lot of songs are slow, but that's what makes them uniquely them. but a lot of songs start off slower but have a sudden shift and climax at the end. yellow house is one of the best albums I've ever heard--and I think you should definitely invest in it. even if you're not into it, atleast you know!
@@yasmineouchrif9475 honestly!! Such an outstanding series like that deserve outstanding music! Everyone who worked on that show went above and beyond 👏🏻🗿

@Brian yep
Sefir Yetzirahhhhhhhhh!!!
Same, i had a 3rd grade project on grizzly bears, i was scarred lol

I don't feel that with This song. but I know it. i know that feel. guitar solo from liquid visions - nightfall, is one of its names to me
Drop Nineteens - Kick the tragedy to me
So glad I got to see them live. Vastly underrated band. Yellow House and Veckatimest were fantastic albums. And this video is the shit.

Man this song. Just the first time hearing it. Stoned on a swing set with a few friends late on a summer night.

Great to see a non-electronic band on the world's best electronic record label. Warp are visionaries.
This is a masterpiece of art and music! Holy shit this is amazing!
Fifteen years listening to song and the intro still gives me shivers.
This is my favorite music video. It reminds me of the magic I find in White Sands, New Mexico.
The way this song sounds is literally how I feel all the time.. Chill af but def a saddie.
honestly every music video that grizzly bear makes, makes my favorite list.
i adore their crazybeautiful mentality.
I was just thinking how every one of their videos strike me like that. Indescribably beautiful, inscrutable but - at the same time - achieving some sort of closure that makes perfect sense, even if you can't really explain how. They just feel right.
I have vague memories of coming here while very high, it felt like a feature length film
I have a feeling I've been here too, it's almost like an altered state of consciousness
+Mister Disco I'm WAY too sober and this still feels like a feature film.
I've loved this for ages. I wish is would be rereleased at 4k with higher quality audio and video.
Probably the best composers arrangers melodists harmonists since The Beatles... and with better lyrics yet. Pure genius!
Brian Wilson entered the chat
i’ve been looking for this music video for absolutely ages, after a while i thought oh maybe it was a dream
Forgot how amazing this band is/was
My friend showed me this band when was lil I miss him so much I’m glad he showed me this band
Reminds me of like an old 80's sci-fi/fantasy book, and on the label you'd see the brand TOR.
Such an amazing song! This band is amazing live
Hard to watch through all the tears and hallucinations
I can't explain how this song make me.. All is beautiful
this is untainted creativity at its purest

Is "doom beach boys" a thing yet? Cuz I think it could/might be?
Ryan Koss nice point there lol
Amazing.
Go listen to Panda Bear 😁
Or Animal Collective 🤔
i like that

Well said. Well said.
That sounds nice 🗿
14 years old now, damn..... I remember seeing this video, and then serendipitously, I found myself at MoMA when Bjork was debuting her Encyclopedia Pictura directed video for wanderlust, IN 3D!!
Wow serendipitously! I never really see or hear anyone use that word lol I like that 🗿 also it's now been 16 years.. crazy absolutely wild.
art at its finest
Just found the show skins a couple days ago... Love the show so far, and the soundtrack is pretty good too... Especially this song.
This is the ultimate indie song of the 2000s
This sounds like good music to die to
You should make a playlist called "good music to die to" 🗿
The most amazing band ever!!!
This was always my favourite adaptation of Dune
I remember having the worst flu of my life in about March 2015 - cold sweats to the point you feel like being sick. For some reason i came across this video then and i can’t associate it with anything else.
Thanks for sharing ☺️

"million views"
It's getting there!
such an amazing band
16 years on yt. Hard to believe
I always felt like this song would make a very very sad slow dance song
it's like a cross between star trek and there will be blood
You should watch Firefly.
Up there with windowlicker/come to daddy for wonderfully unsettling imagery, and a beautiful song to boot!
I frist heard this song while eating at PF Chang's with my 4 month old daughter and her mother....I thought I was listening to the beatles so I pulled out my iPhone, switched apps from Simpson' tapped out to Soundhound and realized it was this song..... been hooked ever since....

This music video scared the shit out of me as a kid 😭
Freaks Me Out....Kinda Like The Hills Have Freaks(instead of Eyes...), But, Just LISTEN to Those Harmonies.....INCREDIBLE....
Most exciting images and pacing. Skills.
First watched this and heard this song in 07/08 living with my cousin as a teen. I was tripping balls on shrooms in the laundry closet 😂 great memories

I was looking for 'The Knife' and came across this! A happy accident!
The band 'The Knife' if you have an eclectic taste in music have a look. I LOVE THEM!
I love how grizzly bear never gives a fuck in their music videos. "Oh im drowing in this weird goo, let me look right into the camera." #nofucksgiven
Reminds me of what I could have had ❤
Lots of drug trips spent listening to this one
It is besties modern to the thinkers indeed
Ahh..good to be back 😻
One of the raddest things I've seen.. and heard.
Skins have shown me great bands, and great songs! =D
Ahhhhhh same here!! BEST SHOW EVER. 🗿🗿🗿
nothing out of the ordinary
This is mid 2000’s peak hipster indie shit. 1/31/25 - 17 years went quick.

Wow, this is a 14 year old comment... If you still use this account, what music do you mainly listen to now?
They don't make much stuff like this anymore. Pretty cool stuff
I love Grizzly Bear! GRAAW!
This same director had an installation at a museum in Santa Cruz a few years ago!

17 years ago is crazy
too beautiful... ♫ can't you feel the knife? ♫ :)
It's a shame the ending of this song isn't long enough to play for the rest of my life
This should have so many more views haha.
This video proves that the "Weird area of UA-cam" is now MOST of UA-cam, including music videos.
Fair point.
can't really argue with that!
Nostalgic
Is that Father John Misty?
He was in Fleet Foxes not grizzly Bear
Pretty ass girl
Jeff Rogers yes I know that. 💀 it’s just a joke.
Vntichrist oh shit thanks 🥺
You fucking made me spit out my coffee the first time I read this. I came back to the video just for this comment. Fuckin hilarious.
