Its been a while Dave since I posted but your ability and teaching always amazes me and I just had to post again and state to all your subscribers just how much your videos have helped me - so thank you Dave 👍
Great to hear from you Cyril! Appreciate the kind words, thanks for reassuring others to subscribe. Thrilled the videos has proven helpful. You are welcome... all the very best. 🙏
Thanks, Dave another great lesson. Interesting side note, I just had cataract surgery and your video is much improved. I may have to watch them all again! The colors are so much changed!
Hi Dan, You are very welcome. Awesome that the cataract surgery was a success... can't image how much relief you have to see colours again. Would appreciate you looking at my videos again, would really help the channel grow. All the very best 🙏
What pencils should I use? I'm a beginner. I did landscapes with Bob Ross and KeVin Hill for years. For the skin, I see that I can use Caran d'Ache and Comté but especially not the Faber Casrel polychromos because they make the skin "dirty" when you blend. Yours truly. THANKS
Hi Annie, you can't go far wrong with the carbOthello's Chalk pastel set of 60 to start with, I would substitute some of the blues, reds and purples for the Conté because of poor lightfastness and just buy a Faber Castell white. Then add more as you go. You are welcome Thanks for watching 🙏
Hi Joe... I like to use grey pastel as ever colour can be a grey so no probs with creating muddy colours. Graphite would not mix with the pastel so I would suggest sticking with pastel. Give it a try and see what happens. Then you will know through experience. All the very best 🙏

Thank you Sujay! 🙏
Hi Dave, quick question. Do you have to make the outline drawing with pastel pencils or can that also be graphite on pastel paper?
Hi Joe... I like to use grey pastel as ever colour can be a grey so no probs with creating muddy colours. Graphite would not mix with the pastel so I would suggest sticking with pastel. Give it a try and see what happens. Then you will know through experience. All the very best 🙏
