When my son was a cashier some customers would come into the store and blow their noses with their bare hands and then hand him the money to pay for their items. Well said! I fear for small children and day care providers as well. Day care workers handle linens, are in very close contact with the children, and little kids are always catching illesses that go through entire rooms. Do you really think that using gloves is going to stop the spread. If you touch the virus with the gloves the gloves will then be infected the same as if a hand, linen , towel. Gloves only help if you change them every time you touch something infected. They'll help keep you from getting stuff under your nails, that's about it.

Well hotels are not safe and anybody that ever worked at one knows.
I will not stay at any hotel/motel! I will stay at home.
Airports have been open this whole time it never closes even during the shutdown. People are going on vacation as if nothing is going on. Some people just can't stay home.
That's why I always run to Target when I stay in a hotel, I buy sheets and a couple of towels. If I run low on money and can't afford to buy, I take those hotel sheets/towels to a nearby laundromat and I spray the bed with bed bug spray.

I believe her. I remember being a cashier and people giving money covered in blood, which I did not touch or take. The customer service people switched the money out . The day and age we live in there isn't any telling what's on people or there money. If you come in contact with people or money gloves are a good idea!!!!
Glvoes are helpful. But if she had on gloves and touched her face, she still would have been at risk of transmitting it to her face.

I totally agree with you about that but what about money that you receive from the cashier? I think there is no way we're going to be able to 100% protect ourselves from this.

I'm a cashier also. I've never wanted unknown people too close to me, since the occurrence of these public viruses, being at work sometimes feels like you're in a war. I take as many safety precautions as I can and have to believe and trust God so I don't get overly frustrated, ESPECIALLY with people who don't practice safety by getting too dawg gone close. Stay safe everyone ✌🏽

Right! We're still in the Covid Pandemic. Why did she stop wearing gloves and mask? She's around so many people and handling dirty money.
Unfortunately, it can be transferred through fomites and it stick on EVERYTHING. It's worse than glitter. It's so easy to lean on an exposed elbow on the counter or something and then scratch it hours after your shift. Not trying to create germophobes, just saying I don't think it was lack of care on her part. And that's what frightens me.

Gloves do little good if you don't have perfect technique. Most people touch their faces 16 times an hour. The whole point of wearing gloves is out the window if you touch your face, or any part of your body, even once after having touched potentially contaminated surfaces.
