Ghost and Volbeat took the stage at the Honda Center in Anaheim to wrap up their 2022 U.S. tour along with special guests Twin Temple. Fans arrived early for this one and formed lines around the Honda Center hours ahead of time. As soon as doors opened, many attendees went straight to the merchandise booths to wait in line again for some tour memorabilia.
Not only was tonight the trek’s final outing, but it was also Ghost mastermind and vocalist Tobias Forge’s birthday!
What an amazing show Papa treated the crowd on his birthday and it was amazing don’t miss it!
The anticipation reached a fever pitch as familiar choral music filled the venue, bringing the masses to the floor for another ritual.
The silhouette of a solitary Ghoul was illuminated behind the curtain as Papa Emeritus IV and the band started the set with the song “Kaisarion.”
The curtain dropped and the energy was palpable. The band played a good selection from their catalog with songs like “Rats,” “From The Pinnacle to The Pit,” “Year Zero,” “Mummy Dust,” “Cirice” and “Ritual.” Fans had the good fortune to celebrate Papa Emeritus IV’s birthday with him. During a special moment, the crowd even sang “Happy Birthday.”
Ghost played four new songs tonight, beginning with the show opener “Kaisarion.”
Other highlights included “Mary on a Cross,” “Hunter’s Moon,” and a haunting cover of Metallica’s “Enter Sandman.” Unfortunately, all good shows - and tours - must come to an end. Ghost wrapped things up with their chart-topping single “Square Hammer.” It was an incredibly entertaining night of rock and roll.
The European leg of this tour begins next month. Ghost’s new album Impera arrives next week on March 11 via Loma Vista Recordings. Be sure to check www.ghost-official.com for tour dates.
Special thank you to Ghost and Tobias, Papa Emeritus we had a blast thank you!

Can you please pin this or put in video description?
"Papa talks" is such a great song, I’m glad they played it so much different times during the set !
Thanks for the upload.
Small request: If you add this list to description your video will have nice chapters ^^

I literally just discovered this band a few days ago. I love their sense of humor and irreverence. I’m 58 years old, btw. Rock is forever!

As a person who will never, ever, ever have enough money to go to one of their concerts in a million years, thank you SO MUCH for posting this. Papa's energy just bleeds off the stage, I love it.
If you live anywhere near Philadelphia I would be more than happy to take you to their show in Trenton, NJ sometime in September in 2022. It pains me to see you say you’ll never get to see them live. Feel free to answer back anyway possible if it’s something you’d be interested in. I know it means zero not knowing who I am but I give you my word that I’m no creep & there is absolutely nothing to worry about even tho this on it’s own can be taken as quite disturbing. Sincerest apologies if I freaked you out
If you are in San Diego or can be I'll toss you a ticket my treat
Get a job.
@@lrh411 what if this person is a young fan like me? for example I can't get a job.
The normal Tickets aren't that expensive for their concerts. I'm talking as someone who doesn't earn that much money. Even if you're younger, there's always a little chance to earn some money. Small jobs that can be done by students that don't require that much time or experience. Or if you have the chance, wish for money for your birthday/Christmas.
I know money can be a real issue, but there's always a way to make a little extra money.
It's really worth every single coin and I never regretted buying a ticket. It's absolutely magical live.
Hope you'll get the chance to see them, I'm sure some day you can make it buddy! Wishing you the best

- Spillways
- Watcher In The Sky
- Call Me Little Sunshine
- Darkness at The Heart of My Love

Cirice is one of favorites. As someone that has heavy religious trauma “I know your soul is not tainted even though you’ve been told so” hurts so good.
Damn, I feel you. This is most likely different from what you've gone through, but I grew up in a Catholic school (Pre-K to 12, max ~400 people) that was totally run by the clergy. My teachers were nuns. But guess what, they amazingly cared for me and even defended me unlike the fanatic parents of the other kids who would just demonize me. Those were the real monsters for me as a child.
From the start I was just different I guess. Mischievous, energetic, thought black was a nice color, and liked monsters. I also wore a necklace of a skull with shiny red pebble eyes that my mostly absent Mexican dad gave to me because he knew I liked Guanajuato mummies. Some of the things that they set me apart for were just part of my culture, and all it did was make me sadder and angrier than I already was to the point where I just enjoyed scandalizing them, keeping them away from me. I still have issues left to deal with, especially because I didn't allow myself to have friend friends and trust/vulnerability is a very difficult thing for me.
One time I even got blamed for something I didn't do just because all the other "suspects" were crying and I wasn't. I cried later.
Wherever, whoever you are, I hope you're doing alright and know that you are valid. Being you is not a sin. ❤🩹
Me too, this band is such a huge comfort to me and has helped tremendously with my religious trauma
Cirice is my favorite too
Same. It’s my favorite song
Smh....as someone who grew up in a Baptist small town in TN, I feel you guys. I'm sorry that happened to you.
Drummers should get more credit then they do.
Agreed!

The pianist.
Drummers keep time and kick ass...
Their drummer used to play for Paramore back in the day he's really good
Insane how Ghost is getting more and more technical. Specially on the vocals; impressive live performance by Tobias and the Ghoulettes on the backing vocals
His voice has gotten so good! Buttery
@@LiveRockMusic autotune
@@Maghan1 Simply bullshit
@@Maghan1 no
i disagree, i think Ghost always had the amazing voice and all that, but the masks 😁😁 i think he and ghouls finally found the sweet spot, where the masks are still masks but do not interfere with “sound” in any way
Can we just talk about the talent of the ghouls? Fantastic musicians!!!
Yup, seeing what they are doing out of those god awful masks is enough talent in itself lol
@@Lincolnsoto hey… those mask are awesome man. but to each their own
@@Lincolnsoto i was at the concert, never saw Ghost before. I was blown away at the talent displayed by the musicians. His music is a little silly, but those fucking guitarists make earworms.

@@Kingtoadpipe Doesn’t make them less awesome…
Tobias has definitely been taking voice lessons. His control of his voice is much stronger now.
Even stronger than the old recordings! His vibrato and pitch are great, lung control etc. he could just be getting better and better. To think he was trying to hire a singer so he could play guitar lol
Impera from top to bottom may be his/their best
@@brettmanzer8237 it's still hard for me to admit that it's better than prequelle but god damn it, I think it is. Prequelle blew my mind.
Your assertion may be true. However, I also think that the break from touring that he had also gave his voice ample rest and he’s been itching to perform for a while and so he’s firing on all cylinders.
Eso, o cambiaron de ingeniero de sonido.
I don't know about anyone else, but Ghoul is easily my favorite member.
The gouls rule! best backup singers ever
nahh i prefer Ghoul over Ghoul
@@daamiennah ghoul is better 😉
You can tell that Copia is his favorite, and that he is gaining confidence both as a singer and a performer overall. What a Cinderella story!
Man, he LOVES being Copia/Papa IV, over the years he's introduced so many costume changes/intervals into tthe live shows because the man just wants to wear pretty clothes and pelvic thrust at is in his tight trousers.
Which makes me think he'll stick to Copia, I don't see another Papa taking over. Might even disband
@@ugly717 i dont think hell stick with it, theres always been a change each album, even with copia becoming papa iv. itll probably be another few years until the next album, so well probably see a ton of lore from new ghost chapters in that time. maybe enough time will pass in the "canon" for him to have a protege or an antagonist. TF has said that hell make an album after impera, but he "cant say for sure" therell be another after that. could definitely be an antagonist that ends copia/papa iv and ghost altogether (hopefully not!)
@@ugly717 I remember him talking about in an interview about how he already has a vision for a new album and new papa so probs not
@@ugly717no Copia will change and il miss him as Tobias has evolved Copia so much and his character. Plus his stage presence is on point though I loved Terzo too . I can’t wait to see the next Papa .
I will NEVER NOT get chills when he's facing the front in Year Zero and when the music stops and lights are off and get back on again with the name of their forefathers he's facing the ghouls again. MASTERPIECE, TOBIAS.
I saw footage of the video but it was edited so you could see him turn, he turns so politely

I’m a new fan of ghost and omfg I freaked out sm when it happened it’s so cool 😮
OK BUT THE CROWD ACTUALLY SOUNDED SO GOOD IN RATS
Saw them in Glasgow 2 weeks ago now, and honestly, these guys are always at their best when hearing them live, very rare these days that a band is somehow infinitely even better LIVE, the sound mixing was on point, beautiful light shows.
Then before the Encore (which was Square Hammer of course, and Enter Sandman), Tobias took the time to thank the the other bands several times, he thanked the staff working the arena/venue that night and told them he appreciates the work they do to keep the place running, thanked the cleaners, the food and drink vendors, he then went on to talk a little bit about mental health, and said he understands that for some of us, life is difficult, and coming out to a gig can be a very scary and uncomfortable situation, and he that regardless of our mental health, he hopes we've managed to find some joy in the night, and that he appreciates us doing the difficult thing to be there.
That set me off, I was in floods of tears at how thoughtful and wholesome it was, he then explained that the Enter Sandman cover single sales were being donated to a charity for transgender teenagers, to give them summer holidays at camps with other trans peers to have their own space and chill for a couple weeks.
Tobias is a fucking incredible person and I will love him forever. If their sound doesn't appeal to people, I certainly hope that Tobias' actions do. Beautiful person.
Well said! Best show out there right now!
What a great story! Tobias seems like a pretty humble guy to me. Such a phenomenal talent, yet humble.
@@NICO9000 love him
I think he should be nominated for the next god personally.
@@drumkombat161 When I told my buddy to check out “Impera,” he came back with “Gods walk the earth again!”😝
I was a security guard at one of their shows and only heard of them about 6 months before the show. but damn this band puts on one hell of a performance. At such show I saw a young kid just rocking it out to every song that kid is my hero. Still listening to their discography. I think it is a band that kind of grows on you. The dude can definitely sing. I wouldn't necessarily classify this as pop or metal, but a fusion of both as well as something else I can't quite place my finger on. But they are definitely a new favorite. They indeed have some catchy songs.
О, поверьте, не несколько а много запоминающихся песен
I think I've seen Tobias say he wants them to sound like the best 70s or 80s metal band you've ever heard and its kinda true.
it must be great to get technically first row as a guard in all these lives haha
Ghost are a weird mix of a lot of genres, but it probably ends up as some form of rock.
Their fans are mostly metal people, which is why you probably had little to no problems that night.
21:28 Whoever said that's a sexy guitar, I will engrain you into memory.
Mary on a cross always gives me the chills but when it’s live it just WOW
That transition from the Ghoul duel to Cirice was smooth.
the backing vocals tho, got chills
Goulettes did amazing
@@LiveRockMusic as always bro
one of them is Tobias daughter!
@@erkjan No she isn't. She was only singing the backup vocals in the studio versions of some songs.

Ghoulettes deserve more volume in future songs! Their “Call Me!” In “Call Me Little Sunshine” live gives it more power!
I think they will in future albums. Think they got added right before this tour so they are pretty new.
I love how playful they are. Every song is a banger.
Hell yea
Exaclty I love PS but I have around 100 hours when I have almost 1000 on HLL. While mechanics are better in PS, HLL is definitively more satisfying
As someone who is constantly searching for new music to feed my insatiable soul, I am so greatful that my random word search of "Ghost" on youtube showed me such an amazing new (to me) band/artist that is Ghost. I honestly can't believe I haven't heard of them until about 3 days ago. Seeing them live has to be an incredible experience.

Disagree. He sounds way more nasal.

1:02:30 I felt what he said right here. It reminded me of many shows I attended alone because I had no one to go with. I appreciate him for saying something so kind ❤️
People can say what they will, but Tobias knows how to talk to a crowd and make everyone in the crowd feel appreciated. Not to many singers can do that. It's a damned cool thing and reminds me alot of Freddie Mercury in that way.
I have been to a lot of shows alone ( sometimes you can get better seats when you only want 1 seat).
I would have gone with you! Lol
I literally don’t know a single person who has ever even heard a Ghost song (and none of them are willing to listen to one given our fundamentalist upbringings)

tobias is a genius in the setting of the performance, instead of playing another song he makes mini scenes for the ghouls to do (like guitar duel) so it wont be boring
Until they release a live DVD, this is the DEFINITIVE live performance recording from this tour. Unbelievable quality 👍👍👍
They're all such great entertainers, even tambourine ghoul is vibing and hyping the crowd up.
They are amazing!
funny thing is his vocals have gotten so much better, i'd love to hear the whole first album live with this quality haha.

I was sitting almost directly across from you and can see myself and my daughter in the crowd from time to time when the lights are up! Thanks so much! We stumbled upon Ghost when they opened for Opeth and Mastodon in 2012, and have seen them on every tour since. Just amazing how it's all evolved. TF is brilliant. Damn!
Raising your spawn right!!! Fantastic
Aw, how old is your daughter? Always great to see women in the metal scene, mom daughter combo even better!
you are an amazing mother! I would be so happy if one of my parents took me to a concert just as amazing as this. Would love to go to a ghost concert one day,you daughter is very lucky
That's so cute
Ghost, you have truly saved my life, in the pitch black darkest days.
When my precious little cat Crystal died after only 2 years of living (the most affectionate little thing, yet she had health problems from day one), you were there. When my social anxiety was all over the place, you were there. When my depression and PTSD consumes me, you are there. When I was unsure about being gay and being a metal fan at the same time, you were there. When my inner horror fan needed a kick of motivation, you were there. When I knew my “friends” were faker than ever before, you were there. When I needed someone to make me feel good about having Autism and being different, you were there. Anytime I needed good music to get me through the week, YOU WERE ALWAYS THERE.
Thank you Ghost for changing my life forever. ❤️🤘
This sounds so good! I love that we can hear the Ghoulette's so well too!
Nothing like proper sound!
whoever got "Ciriced" was so lucky. Honestly a dream come true😭
I’m so jealous of anyone that gets him
holding their hand whilst singing Ciriice 😂 I saw him at a festival come off the stage and come to the front of the crowd and all these females grabbed him but he kept singing holding one girls hand 😮
I would happily give up my soul just to see them live
That can be arranged!
same. they are definitely on my bucket list
I'm waiting for a Portugal tour someday.. Maybe one day! I'm new to ghost but can't stop listening to them
It's MIND BLOWING how much difference it makes to have great sound. I know how difficult it is to get high quality audio from a live concert. Most UA-cam concert recordings are not great. But this, man...not only did you capture some great high quality footage, but the audio! Holy shit. Amazing. Thanks so much for this. Awesome. Keep it up.
Thank you so much, I try so hard to capture great sound PLUS what it feels like to BE THERE. And it's tough. I use a Shure mic, which helps, but you have to tune it and sweeten the audio when editing as well to get it just right. Listen with headphones and it'll blow you away! Check out my other videos they are all good audio
I was there and let me tell you, IT REALLY DOES SOUND BETTER IN PERSON!! ive never had music give me chills till that night. i had so much fun screaming the lyrics and playing with a rat squeaker toy. amazing!!
I'm glad recordings like this exist. I live in new Zealand so It's highly unlikely they would ever do a show here, this is the only way I can experience it. That and I'd have too much anxiety in order to plan and get myself to one if I could.

I came across Ghost by happenstance back in 2011 after hearing Ritual. They had a raw yet unique sound. Since then with each album released their sound's become more polished and refined. Not only are they the saviors of Mental but the entire music industry. Horns Up High for Papa and the Ghouls!
