This is what fanboyism does to a man.. Do you truly believe that? The last album was written _completely_ by the pop industry assembly line with the exception of one song, which is an interlude. The majority of music is not performed nor written by him. There's a PR team. Designers. A massive crew. It's an industry, and Forge managed to withold the "gun for hire"-shitshow to the people involved until he got big enough to actually pay for it. Ghost was a good band at one point, but to uphold that man to some extreme height when there are countless musicians that did more - with integrity - is ridiculous.
Forge was somewhat involved in a obscure punk band called ‘Onkel Kånkel’ in late 90s, and it was from this band he got the idea of anonymity. Their main man Håkan was unknown until his untimely passing.
I have an old Onkel kånkel record and they where pretty controversial back then. If you understand Swedish you'd know why in an instance. . But they were basically unknown to most people in Sweden. They even released a Christmas record that was hilarious to listen to. Not politically correct nowadays!

This is an awesome video. They did a great job summing up Ghost. Tobias has a fantastic voice. I love all of their music! They have so many changes in each album. I can't wait to see them one day!
The story of Ghost always makes me excited and happy. Everything about it is so surreal, from the passing of Tobias' brother and their consistent raise in popularity to where they are today. All the hard work and emotion payed off in the end and it's so nice that a band like this got so much well deserved attention.
thanks for the video. really beautifully summed up and couldn’t be more proud to accidentally discover this great band. where was i before? my goodness
In what world is Beyoncé vulgar and tacky. Also it was the satanic imagery that they didn't like. It was a stupid reason but North America was and still is an evangelical country. Even Liberal Christians in the States are uncomfortable with satanic imagery.
its mostly because of the inflated importance that country places on christianity. no room for a theocracy on the global stage, im not sure how its still going that way.
Sitting at work flipping through UA-cam and saw this. Ghost can add me to their fanbase. I will definitely check them out when they your in this area this Summer!
Hey bro, this is one of the most well put together documentaries I've watched in a long time! Not to mention the fact that I haven't known much about Ghost since I heard them play on WJRR in Orlando, FL back in 2017. But from the moment I heard Square Hammer, I have been a fan! Your video has helped me learn a lot about the band. And Tobias Forge seems like an awesome dude with a good heart! That's rare in the world anymore, sadly. Anyways, keep up the great work and you have a new sub! 😎
Looove old Ghost. First album is so dark and doomy it sounds great. Lately I’ve found them to be a bit too pop sounding for my tastes but those first two albums are just killer 🤘
My introduction to Ghost was Dance Macabre, which I mistook for a SCORPIONS song. Went down the rabbit hole. As a theater kid, I love the fact that there's lore to the band lol.
I knew nothing about this band and I stumbled across your video. You did a great job with this video and explaining things I could understand how it would be a confusing and difficult concept to explain to a person like me lol. Because of this video I will be checking out their music thank you so much
This was so informative, I've been a fan for a while but I've never deep dived into the band lore before just because it seemed so confusing and daunting but this was easy to follow so thank you 😊
While I’m not a fan of their last album, the sound and tone in those first albums is so gooood and I would love to see them play live. It’s not just a concert, it’s like a whole play and it’s so interesting to watch. I like their whole aesthetic they have going.
thank you for this video good sir, I am recently getting into this band and this video provided excellent insight into the lore of the band. I love the connection to metallica as it is a band I grew up to my father playing in the car constantly. This doc has given me excellent insight to the band and I will continue to enjoy their music in the future. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Love the video, super comprehensive and detailed! My only gripe, and I'm being nit-picky here, is right at the start. Not sure if it's you or the video you got but the Ghoul doing the interview wasn't Omega. The Ghoul doing the interview has always just been "A Nameless Ghoul" and was later called "Special Ghoul" by fans

Thanks for this video a lot) I recently discovered this band and this gave me a lot more understeanding of the situation! (Also still dead after Papa lll with kazoo)
I enjoyed this mini-doc quite a lot. I vaguely remember their apperance on Colbert & recognized a couple songs. It's really nice to see such talented musicians embracing Art Rock/Theatrical Rock. Their shows must have been amazing especially around Halloween/spooky season. Definitely going to check out more of their music. TY.
Art rock. That’s my interpretation I came up with and I’ve never heard anyone else use that term!! It was a term I gave my music 25 years ago! They are definitely ART ROCK!
Have loved Ghost since 2015. I heard from the Pinnacle to the Pit from Meliora and was absolutely hooked. The way they ironically mix this sort of satanic/pagan rock sound with traditional churchy overtones is awesome. I love their whole performance based shows and just the entire lore behind it. I have yet to see them live but the day i do is going to be a fulfillment.
I first discovered ghost after seeing their logo on George Corpsegrinder of cannibal corpse's shirt in a video, they had quite alot of buzz in the underground metal scene for the first few years but it wasn't until 2015 when I first heard 'ritual' off of the first album, I've been hooked since. What I do find funny though is the same blogs and tastemakers that raved about ghost when they were underground now hate them because of how popular and "commercial" they are.
This was great. And Tobias was right. I don’t think he could have become the figure he’s become as just himself. He went about it the right way and created a fantastic band.
Mary on a Cross is what introduced me to Ghost but Mummy Dust, Rats, Square Hammer, and Ritual is what got me to be a fan. Now their all I listen to in my free time!
I only just recently became a Ghost fan after Hunter's Moon dropped on 105.7 the X in PA. Never knew they had so much history. I thought they were a NEW band. I will have to check out some of the albums, but between Hunter's Moon, Little Sunshine and now Spillways, they are fantastic...seem very likeable too.
If one really looks at Ghost's musical history with a critical lens, the first 3 albums are all a collective brilliant mixture. This type of lightning in a bottle historically happens collectively. Once all the ghouls left, the music really changed and that magic was gone. It doesn't sound or feel like Ghost anymore. Listening to the other bands that the ghouls where in you can here where the unique song crafting and progressions really came from.. Believe what you want.... But the songs are the facts ..... Everything post the members leaving, points to Ghost was a collective creative effort that is a now facsimile of what was once a truly unique band.
I absolutely love ghost. I found them in 2015 when I was Viking my best friend in New Mexico. We went out to a bar and I had my ear buds in and went out front to smoke a cigarette and some drunk dude asked who I'm listening to I told him The Black Dahlia Murder and he then told me about ghost so I looked them up and shared my ear buds with him to watch a video of ghost and I was hooked from that point on. They are so good and I love the school sound with the lyrical content.
Excellent documentary! Enjoyed it very much, especially since I've only recently discovered the band and started listening to it. Great work, thank you! :)

I have an old Onkel kånkel record and they where pretty controversial back then. If you understand Swedish you'd know why in an instance. . But they were basically unknown to most people in Sweden. They even released a Christmas record that was hilarious to listen to. Not politically correct nowadays!
@@jonasedfeldt1127 Most kids in schools in 90s - early 2000s knew Onkel Kånkel (thnx to internet) - goes along with Björn Rosenström, Eddie Meduza and more - It's called genitalia rock and I belive kids will always listen to them (talking about 13+)
I believe i heard this one, Cp Åke in the late 80s ua-cam.com/video/lqgs-FmKsms/v-deo.html
fan vad sjukt, hade ingen anning haha
This is an awesome video. They did a great job summing up Ghost. Tobias has a fantastic voice. I love all of their music! They have so many changes in each album. I can't wait to see them one day!
I'm late to the party as usual, but it is SO nice to hear Ghost covered in an Israeli accent. Shalom, achi!
You really did a fantastic job on this documentary, it's exactly what I wanted to see!
The story of Ghost always makes me excited and happy. Everything about it is so surreal, from the passing of Tobias' brother and their consistent raise in popularity to where they are today. All the hard work and emotion payed off in the end and it's so nice that a band like this got so much well deserved attention.
Just finished watching this in full, absolutely excellent work man! Some really insightful information into the band and their history. Tack 🤘
Great job putting this together mate, respect!
thanks for the video. really beautifully summed up and couldn’t be more proud to accidentally discover this great band. where was i before? my goodness
it's so strange that Americans refused Ghost as being obscene but have no issue with vulgarity and tackiness such as Beyonce and Cardi B
In what world is Beyoncé vulgar and tacky. Also it was the satanic imagery that they didn't like. It was a stupid reason but North America was and still is an evangelical country. Even Liberal Christians in the States are uncomfortable with satanic imagery.
Plenty of stations and shops that refused to play or sell those songs / albums too.
its mostly because of the inflated importance that country places on christianity. no room for a theocracy on the global stage, im not sure how its still going that way.
Can’t group us all under one person Bud
Ghost is really good for showing the bigotry of the USA. Where freedom of religion is only allowed for Christianity.
Yeah. I’m not a big metal guy. But I love ghost. There songs are so melodic and I like the lore behind them!
You obviously don't know metal because Ghost isn't and has never been metal.
@@haywoodyoudome dope
@@haywoodyoudome the first album is very 70s doom metal lol
@@haywoodyoudome metal is broad as hell. of course it’s metal.
@Carl Gunderson Black Sabbath!?!?!?
Fantastic Documentary. Ghosts music is something I'll always hold close to my heart.
Sitting at work flipping through UA-cam and saw this. Ghost can add me to their fanbase.
I will definitely check them out when they your in this area this Summer!
This was an awesome documentary. Thank you very much 🙂
Just learned of Ghost yesterday, and I am a fan already ❤️
Very well presented and compared to other documentary channels, it actually features music from the band presented. Thank you for making it.
Really shows critics don't know crap. Infestissusmam was incredible and by far my personal favourite Ghost album
Did u really spell that album name all by your self? Even spell check is lost.
Incredible video. Been nerding out HARD on Ghost lately and this helped me understand a lot of the lore I find myself lost in. Thanks for this!
Looove old Ghost. First album is so dark and doomy it sounds great. Lately I’ve found them to be a bit too pop sounding for my tastes but those first two albums are just killer 🤘
Same here. The first two were good 👍
For real, the last album was a bit too poppy but man the sound and tone in those early days are so good!
Strange, all ov them are too poppy. Even thee only their great track He Is is poppy as fak.
Oddly enough, I realized my intense love of doom metal through their first album. 😊
I found ghost 2 years ago and have loved them ever since, I saw them in concert last night and I am in this for life now!!!
Because of this video I will be checking out their music thank you so much
Thanks for making this. I got into Ghost when I recently stumbled upon "Dance Macabre" and just got hooked. This video help bring me up to speed
Nice work on this documentary! I thought it was really good :)
Thanks man!
@@RazBenAri been following you for a loooong time. Glad to see you uploading again!
Great video! My only gripe is the location where Terzo was dragged off stage and Nihil revealed. That was in Mexico, not Sweden.
You did an outstanding job putting this documentary together. Well done!!
Ghost creates amazing music. I started listening to them in 2017 and went to my first concert two weeks ago with my kid. What an experience!
tanks for the video, i was searching for something like that, to know about the history of a band is one interesting Journey on the way from discovering ther music and later on loving it ♥️
Thanks for this video a lot) I recently discovered this band and this gave me a lot more understeanding of the situation!
Best band in last 20 years....Easily!
A friend invited me to see Ghost play nearby. Sent me a link to this video.
Was super informative and honesty I’m even more excited to see them!
Go you’ll have a blast!!
Thank you for this video! I was looking exactly for that
I've been looking for a good Documentory. I've found one :) Thank you Raz!
This was great. And Tobias was right. I don’t think he could have become the figure he’s become as just himself. He went about it the right way and created a fantastic band.
This was an awesome watch!! Thank you! I'm only now becoming really obsessed with their amazing sounds.
Yes! Agreed times a million. Ghost is no more pretty much. There's no comparison between the old and new,, so sad!
Just realized that a full new album was released 2 days after this video came out. good timing
I just recently discovered Ghost, and I’m in love with it! ❤️
Patrick Wilsons colab with Ghost introduced me to them.
I'm hooked!!!!
Me too ❤ xxx
I absolutely love ghost. I found them in 2015 when I was Viking my best friend in New Mexico. We went out to a bar and I had my ear buds in and went out front to smoke a cigarette and some drunk dude asked who I'm listening to I told him The Black Dahlia Murder and he then told me about ghost so I looked them up and shared my ear buds with him to watch a video of ghost and I was hooked from that point on. They are so good and I love the school sound with the lyrical content.
My mind is officially blown - this is awesome!
Excellent documentary! Enjoyed it very much, especially since I've only recently discovered the band and started listening to it. Great work, thank you! :)
