The way you describe each book is simply alluring. You made me want to read every single one of them, even though they’re not my typical reads!

YES. Love that you brought 'A Certain Hunger' to the table (lol) first. I think it was my favourite read this year.

    Hi Cameron
I just wanted to stop by and say how much I admire your dedication and passion for books. Your content is always so engaging and inspiring! In fact, I recently featured your channel in a video on my own BookTube channel, highlighting some of the most amazing creators in the community-and, of course, you had to be on that list! 😊
Thank you for everything you do to make BookTube such a vibrant and welcoming space. Keep up the incredible work-you’re making such a difference in the bookish world!
    Warm regards,
    Kris (from SmartBookWorms)

I read A Certain Hunger on a plane this year and I remembering being overly self conscious like I hope no one is looking over my shoulder and seeing what I’m reading lmao

Ohhhh I was so looking forward to Evenings + Weekends but it didn’t hit for me. I think if I read it in the right circumstances/headspace/season, I would’ve enjoyed it way more.

"not excited by the prospect of reading two straight male" why? Anyway, I loved the story, I lost my father also when I was very young so I did relate with the characters, but I just don't like Rooney's writing style

Because if it wasn’t for Intermezzo’s recent success in order for her to feel relevant and woke enough, she wouldn’t have read it. As if grief would be more compelling if it were experienced by another gender, rather than the story itself being the actual point.

Well there’s endless bodies of work centering men’s internal worlds where it just misses the mark eg see Murakami’s depictions of women. Why are you trawling though a video on “slaggy book club” seething that she is “woke”, maybe the content just isn’t for you? Shocking

@@rerin6728 Sally Rooney is a female author and this book talks about grief for a deceased father. I don't know why you are mentioning Murakami.
