Another crabs treasure just solved from soft difficulty problem. Just give the player a gun they can one shot everything with. You don't have to use it. But you can if you want to. I love that level of confidence. "You do you boo"
The gun shell also has a nod to an upcoming indie game called Squirrel With a Gun. You can find the words "Squirrel wuz here" engraved on the left side of the gun!

The nod to Nemo is the title screen. The scene looks almost identical to the closing credits shot in the movie. I heard Beyond the Sea in my head when I saw it.

You need to kill the mantis shrimp to get a art that breaks the cubes
You don’t KILL the mantis shrimp, just beat him.
He teaches you the adaptation after, he couldn’t do that if he died.

To be fair, we kill a *lot* of other things and still learn an adaptation so it's an easy mistake to make.

@@NathanSmithSkits no, no, he’s actually got dedicated animations for changing to the idle stance, which means he isn’t being killed and ressummoned behind the massive particle explosion. But even if that was what happens, we both know it wasn’t what you meant.

To break the purple rubiks cubes with the spiral on them, you need the big punch ability from the boxer shrimp boss battle. It's optional but really powerful.
theres also a pizza box in the sands between with a reference to pizza tower

Nephro is a nod to the blue lobster meme. There should be a “meme mode” you unlock after you beat the game and it just makes him into the blue lobster png
To answer your question about the intern game, there is a reference in Crab souls. Theres a costume called the intern you can find hidden in one of the early levels.
If you look closely at the CND receipts that make up the footpaths in the upper city, you can see a tagline right beneath the logo that reads "CNDeez nuts gottem"
Also, my all time favorite fake brand in the game is in the room where you get the fishing line there's a tub of margarine you can find that looks a lot like I Can't Believe It's Not Butter, but the actual name on the lid is "I Swear To God, If This Isn't Butter, I'm Seriously Going To Lose It"

The last (recent) game i saw with this many shout-outs, easter eggs and references, was Cookie Cutter from 2023. A Battletoads logo, the helmet of Barry the Chopper (Fullmetal Alchemist), the Buster Sword, that onion-like armor suit from Dark Souls 3, a stoner mechanic covered in golden ring piercings with purple body spikes called Stonic ("You gotta take it slooow, maaan"), MANY cover art shout-outs to bands and anime, some Super Sentai show helmet (i assume), graffiti of Raz from Psychonauts, a broken monitor showing a creature resmebling hollow knight (wielding a tampon, called "Glans knight") and, uh, well... a Chozo statue, but with a particular head shape... replace the "z" in "chozo" with a "d".
The lead dev has a provocative sense of humor at times, but there is very, very clear love for Cookie Cutter (for one, it's beautifully animated) and he's quick on asking for feedback to make it as technically solid as can be, before moving on to add more. From characters and quests to entire areaas and bosses.
I believe it's currently on sale, so i do recommend having a look at it and spreading word on it.
CC aside, i didn't know Another Crab's Treasure was made by the same devs as Going Under. Those references and connection between the games are quite cool to learn!
And i didn't know America had those colossal receipts, sweet holy mackerel... O _ O
I do hope ACT's gets well known and good support too, it likewise seems to have a lot to it-- and more story than i was expecting, at that.
Everytime I saw a Going Under reference I pointed at the screen like an idiot. Woooahhhhhh the game references the only other game from the same developers woaaahhhhhh!!!!!!! It still made me really happy though because I love that game :)))
I actually find the SpongeBob's House in the game... It's more easy to find after defeating Pagarus, the Ravenous... Basically it's on the West at the top a climbing area in the Sands Between

I found an Intern Outfit for Krill that looks exactly like the main charakter in Going Under. You found it by some coffee mugs....
I tried, largely in vain, to get people to play _Going Under._ (currently on sale for $5 USD) It's such an underappreciated title. I'm also dumbfounded that there's actually the same argument brewing online about whether difficulty settings in a Souls-like is appropriate or not, clearly the most important question of our times. The vocal majority suggests that making _Another Crab's Treasure_ potentially easier for those who want that spoils _their_ fun despite there being no impact on a default playthrough; the vocal majority never fails to disappoint me.

I'm not the best person to ask because this is my first soulslike game and I've just defaulted to using the gun on every enemy or running past them 😅
it’s good most of my issues have been with jank less with design honestly. not done abt 75% but so far two of the bosses were amazing and only one has been gimmicky and annoying
