- Sir Palamedes the Saracen - The Knight Who Slayed the Questing Beast
Sir Palamedes: A Saracen knight in the Arthurian romances. Tristam and Palamedes were both in love with Ysolde, wife of King Mark. They engaged in single combat, but Tristam was victorious and so Palamedes no longer pursued Ysolde. Tristam later converted the Saracen to the Christian faith, and stood his godfather at the font.
Arthurian legend, the body of stories and medieval romances, known as the matter of Britain, centring on the legendary king Arthur. Medieval writers, especially the French, variously treated stories of Arthur’s birth, the adventures of his knights, and the adulterous love between his knight Sir Lancelot and his queen, Guinevere. This last situation and the quest for the Holy Grail (the vessel used by Christ at the Last Supper and given to Joseph of Arimathea) brought about the dissolution of the knightly fellowship, the death of Arthur, and the destruction of his kingdom. #SirPalamedes #KingArthur #ArthurianLegend

I always remember him popping up in the background of everyone else's story.
Yeah, he is a bit of an also ran in many arthurian tales.
Very glad to see Arthurian videos back again :)
Glad you enjoy them.
A Year Later... Finally, he has cometh for the Tales among Knights of Round Table!
The (Monster) Hunter of Round Table! Sire Palamedes!
Thank you. Its Worth for Wait. Palamedes and Percival are my favourite Knight among Round Table.
Certainly one of the most interesting characters in Arthurian Literature.
A great tale of personal growth and conversion. Very interesting indeed.
I agree very much. Palamedes goes through a lot of growth and change in his time.
Nice to see yet another tale about a knight!
Do Sir Saphyr/Safir and Sir Palamedes share similarities in different writings since they are both saracean btw?
I watched all of this series and was wondering when the next Knight's tale is on the way.
Here are some knights I hope to see in future:
Sir Aglovale (as i understand brother to Percival and Lamorak, son of King Pellinore, father of Morien)
Sir Bercilak (although the green knight has been partially covered in Gawain's video),
Sir Lucan (related to Bedivere),
Sir Griflet (also cousin to the former two mentioned),
Sir Bleoberis (cousin to Lhancelot and also from Gannes/Ganis like Bors),
Sir Pelleas (husband of Nimue, Lady of the Lake, hence a video for her own too),
Sir Dinadan (the comedian)
and perhaps Sir Galehault (admirer of Lhancelot).
The most excited however I'd be about you covering Sir Sagremore of Hungary, virtuous but hotheaded and of course Sir Mordred.
Then potentially the more prominent Kings like King Pellinore and King Lot.
The chantefable of Auccassin and Nicolette deserves a sidemention even tho not a Roundtable-knight perse, because it entails musical evolution from the 12th/13th century up to today.
Im looking forward for whatever knight or arthurian character u might choose next as im sure there are plenty unmentioned ones worth a telling everyone would enjoy.
I'm glad you enjoy the videos. I can say with certainty, some of the names you've mentioned are already on my list for sure.
I hope to see Sir Dinadan covered next! I'm obsessed with him.
