I watched this entire video. I wish you hadn’t interrupted the Holbein rep so much during your interview. I wanted to hear more from him. This really inspired me to try some Holbein products!
Really Thankful for this information it’s nice to find a good source of information on Holbein colours and different colours they supply very informative…..
Great interview! I love Holbein! I want them all!!! That huge colored pencil set! Just WOW! I had no idea that Holbein made so many products. What a great job that guy has!
You can buy them straight from Japan at a much better price, I bought their pastel watercolor set from Japan….thing is, after shipping it totaled out to be the same price as blicks lol
I am OBSESSED with Holbein, by far my most favorite & hoarded brand lol the acrylic gouache on the gelli plate is AMAZING!! Nearly impossible to create an ugly print lol
Becca have you seen the announcement of Holbein's new equivalent of Schmincke's supergranulating watercolors?!?! They uploaded some posts in the community part of their Holbein Japan youtube channel and they look sooo pretty 🤩
Wow, that was an exciting interview! Thank you for sharing with us all. Sadly, the closest brick and mortar art supply store is over an hour away from me and traffic is awful at best. I have to rely on online shopping, but I will happily shop at a smaller supplier than Blick or Jerry's to help support the smaller folk.
I spent a lot of time trying to figure out the "best" water soluble oil paints! So 30% incorporation is the limit of inclusion. This does allow you to use up your "old oils" and reduce the cost of switching to water based oil paints! Great start to this video Becca! OK Back to the show! I just wanted to add I really enjoyed seeing the mediums! I want to get some of the sizing solution! I have only ever purchased it in the larger bags and it went "bad" before I could use it up as I only got it to "fix" some watercolor papers I got at a yard sale! The smaller size looks to be a better solution. Thanks Becca, wonderful video!!
I’ve been using the multi sizing lots and love it. I use it to increase sizing in one of my khadi sketchbooks which is not as hard sized as the fat book and it works great. I plan to use it to resize paper should it go bad too

I love Holbein products, but I had to stop at 16 minutes in because the talking over each other was making me anxious 😫
The Holbein rep had a really nice voice too!

That was an awesome interview! The water-soluble oil paints have piqued my interest 🤗
Holbein needs an international online store so I can easy purchase all their goods straight from Japan at a fair price.

Would you know what a good medium for the acrylic gouache might be? I don’t think he mentioned it. This was a fantastic video, thank you!
Can you add ox gall in gouache?
Good question…
