The epilogue quest unlocks after you do all the Rising Tide side quests which will be 10, afterwards Shula will have the epilogue quest which sort of wraps up Shula's little arc, and further reinforces Clive's resolve before the last mission. So overall, if you really care about the story here, this is some nice little closure for the DLC.
They finally made an Eikon boss fight where I died as many times as I do to Soulsborne bosses.
While I did love that Jill was featured more prominently in this DLC than the last, and I do like the new character Shula, it just highlights the biggest pro problem I have with this game narratively, in that women are not featured more often in this game nor treated with as much respect as they have been in previous FF titles. Other critics pointed out this same problem.
I still love the game and especially this DLC. But I hope that in like a decade or so they remake this game and improve the writing minorities and women in the game.
The gameplay additions in this DLC are just 🔥 so much fun, will be playing arcade mode and kairos gate for a long time I think

My main question would be what happens to the tribe after Clive defeats Ultima and erases all the magic from the world. The giant tide would be unfrozen, and it would destroy the village and kill everyone in it. It's quite a big plot hole, in my opinion 👀
As much as I enjoyed the two DLC’s it really sucks that just as they are figuring out what people actually like and want they just completely move on. I had so much fun playing through the content and it’s sad that is the last time we will get anything meaningful for 16. This game deserves FFXVs level of dlc content.
They said depending on sales of the dlcs they may do a third one. Its not completely out the picture

So I’m 75% done I think with main game and then dropped it. Sounds like I should buy the dlc and play through it as part of my original save? Rather than beating game first since you can’t go back?
both dlc are accessible even right up to before the final quest (there are some certain prereqesite quest but i don't know the specific ones), the game is kinda like BOTW where a "finished" save does not place you after the final quest.
This feels like the culmination of what ff16 could have been. Map with beautiful weather and forests, and challenging fights, leviathan and tonberries. It’s too bad they didn’t design the entire game with this level of difficulty.
The devs clearly learned of their mistakes way too late. I love the game but it has serious problems, many of which the two DLCs either solve or make better.
Can you please explain what those serious problems are? I am waiting to buy it on PC or not. Thank you
@@TheKeikomeow1The main issue is that the game is just too easy in general. Final Fantasy mode makes up for that a lot but that only unlocks for New Game+. Also there are extremely tedius quests between the really great ones. I hope that they do try an Action Final Fantasy again but with the director for this dlc at the helm. The 2 dlcs are actually amazing and worth the price of admission.

I wish i didn't hate 90% of my playthrough of FFXVI. I just can't justify buying the DLC. However, Rebirth has been soooooo god damn good so I'm not even mad 😍
After you wipe your tears better buy a second copy of Rebirth then considering its flopping and selling worse than XVI right now LMAO 😍

I came to see first impressions… I left with everything spoiled
I couldnt beat the final boss fight of the DLC. Gave up in frustration, it wasn't fun.
I got u. Here is what did it for me. Brimstone is a charge attack. U have to hold R2 and Square until the indicator hits red and then let it rip. They math-ed out his health based on us knowing this.
Felt that, I heard that on Final Fantasy mode The DPS check is damn near impossible if your not on his ass and making sure to spam the abilities, I was playing on my AF original save and man I failed it twice lol, I was frustrated but then I saw some footage of the fight after and realized I was making things way harder then it needed to be. And to be comfair, what was one of the main criticisms of the base game? It was too easy, so then they give you back to back DLCs with the two hardest bosses in the game. So I feel like we asked for this
I’m pretty sure the timely accessories work in ifrit mode might want to try those
@@justingabriel1765 yes it's true. The boss two-shots you and the charging attack part is bullshit where you have to be perfect in timing. I assume that latter because I fuckin gave up earlier today and will try again later tonight lol
Leviathan is BORING! Takes so damn long to whittle its HP down i just gave up. Its not hard its just so boring omg it sucks.
