For what it’s worth, I had severe IBS-C for 8 years. I had my wisdom teeth removed this year and feel much better. Also, carnivore diet saved my life before the teeth removal.

I was born 1 pound, 15 oz. Ever since I started eating solids, I could not poop on my own. I am now 26 and still have this lifelong issue of constipation. I have to take a stool softener, Miralax, for the rest of my life and if I miss so much as three or four days in a row, I can become constipated to the point where I can easily (easily here meaning my body will refuse and I have to just wait until it decides it want to go) go a month without crapping. (I think my "record" was roughly 35+ days in 2019 and on into 2020. Happy fricken new year.) ...Not joking... I am kind of living a nightmare. Parents (idiots) never took me to a GI Specialist, and I found this out when my smart doctor asked me about going to one. I finally have an appointment. My parents always said it was because I was a premie, and that may be so but it sounds like there is a chance I may be able to cure this. Also, my daughter of two and a half month has... or looks like she has... the same issue. That makes me very suspicious, and scared. I have never had any side-effects with my month-long constipation episodes. Only ever had one enema (never doing that again) never any infections, ripping, internal damage. ...I am pretty sure I am extremely lucky, though I have no idea what other people go through with this, so I do not know. Anybody out there have theories as to my case? Or anybody out there have the same experience? I'd love to hear from you!

Having my first colonoscopy tomorrow. My doctor knows my history but I've never been prescribed anything. Maybe this investigation will nudge her in the right direction.
