Wow. I didn’t even realize the original poster had so many flaws. This version definitely looks a lot more real and epic now that I look at them side by side. Well done!
I personally prefere your version -BUT- one of the first things they told us when I was in comics school was that DC and Marvel use to keep as more as it's possibile a very recognisable colour scheme for their carachters, no matter what the lights and the style of the rest of the comic book's pages are. I mean, It could be a scene that takes place in the night, and it's raining, but Superman's red and blue are gonna be THAT red and THAT blue. The colours have to pop out, even if It could be a little bit kitsch. They probably still go by this kind of rules, even if maybe it's less used than in the '80s or '90s. It blew my mind, even if I didn't necessairly like that rule. They want you to spot the hero immediately by his colours, and I have to admit that if I pass outside a theatre I'd be attracted by their poster more than yours, that would be more "greysh". Even if I see It very quickly on a bus in the distance I 'd think "oh, there's the new Spider Man movie coming out". Let's say that yours Is better, but theirs works better for the purpose they created It. Take as an opposite example the Eternals poster: i don't think It works at all as a superhero movie poster, even if it's more beautiful than other posters. But this Is just my opinion. Good work anyway.
It's an interesting way of approaching colour but it's feels to me like a needless way of handicapping creativity. If a character is in a dark scene then I expect the character to be lit differently and naturally i'd expect to see different colours. Also it ruins realism imo. Maybe in comics bright recognizable colours work, but when a cgi character is lit, and the colours are too vibrant it feels off.
I definitely agree with this argument. I remember when I was in training of design, the first thing my mentor told us is, "design is not up to your preferences/liking. it's about how do you want to deliver the message and it definitely up to the client (by request)". and I think, in this case, the client is the upper man in Marvel, and the message they want to deliver is "to make the hero pop up more". maybe that's why the artist still go by that rule because it's the "request" from their client. of course I like the re-make version more, but yea your argument is valid and has a point, at least for me.
I mean, to be honest, Benny's redesign looks much more realistic and just simply better but the marvel one used brighter and more eye catching colours that make it more noticeable. If he made Spiderman's colours more vibrant and left behind a bit of realism, I think it would be wayyyyy better than marvel's.
I think it's more of a client vs. designer thing. I'm sure the professionals working on it knew what was wrong with it and had a better version in mind or whatever, but clients tend to make bad choices the final choices in any design field. lol
actually the reason why sony put the motion blur was to decieve the audience so that it looks like it is from the movie Simple But Benny doesnt know and starts talking trash Kinda dumb
Nicely done! The original has the brighter colors, which you kinda need for ppl to notice walking by the theater &/or scrolling around on the internet, but I definitely like your vision for the poster. Also, I'm surprised how much brighter the logo is in yours. Great job!
The answer is simple! 1. Professional artist creates something pretty good and shows it to the client. 2. Client demands a bunch of stupid changes that ruins it.

yours looks so much more integrated into the environment and uniform. the original just looks like a bunch if elements thrown together with a saturation boost
Honestly I think it really comes down to lighting which went a LONG way, especially making the arms look like they were from Spider-Man 2 on PS2 to making them almost look like they were in the actual movie
For the record, I don’t hate Marvel. I love em. We simply expected more from a studio that size :) Take this video with a grain of salt. It’s meant as more of a joke really😂 Edit: The poster was likely made by Sony, as they're in charge of the marketing and promotion material. Not that it really matters but still xD
Its generated a ton more attention for the movie by people talking about the poster being bad on social media, for them its 'an absolute win', so while yours does look way better, having a bad poster has helped them marketing wise.
Very true, I think people tend to lean towards the “I’m better than them” rather than thinking they most likely did it for a reason and someone is getting paid a lot to do exactly what you said.
@fun talk many UA-camrs have made a better version than this on insta. I feel This is a bit to dark to be a poster. A poster should be bright and capture people.
agree but I think marvel goal is to hype more the viewers by its detail like why the their are 3tinckles,3sand hurricane,3ligthing blast in the original poster, and add motion blur as if its like a screenshot from movie like the other poster from marvels . I mean they marvel,Im sure they will provide mystery details to hype the viewers. but like I said Benny's production is way better, so Marvel hire him heheh

I think what’s important to remember is that they need the poster to stand out and sell. By making spidey rlly bright and not blended in, it gives a poppy look which just yah know sells better
But the first thing that hit me with the original is that how muddled the spiderman no way home text is There is no excuse for the designer putting it against rubble and tentacles instead of a blank clean-ish space
EXACTLY MY POINT , i mean obviousaly its bad at so many levels and so many mistakes , but we need to realise that most people wont care about it as long as its POPPY and COLORFUL.
I have been playing with photoshop for 20 years. You have an absolute latent and to me you are one of the best of the best out there! I really love what you do, and please dont stop!
Your version is pretty nice and pleasing to the eyes while keeping the lighting realistic, while the original poster serves to highlight spidey, doc oc's arms, and goblin. I don't think they aimed for a realistic and aesthetic poster but rather a poster that grabs your attention and focuses it on the hyped characters. Nonetheless, your poster looks so good like mwah chef's kiss.
Yea I can drop a handful of character into a clip art scene and call it a poster too, when I'm worth billions and have everyone defend us using a minimum wage apprentice to make the poster...
That's what I had in mind. Posters don't necessarily need to have correct lighting all the time. A little cheating here and there is okay as long as it's not too obvious to a regular person's eye.
I like the color on the origional poster but your render is way better. The terrain doesn't seem like he is floating, the shadows are better, the highlights are better. Overall I think you made a way more successful poster than the original.

I literally looked at the original thinking “It looks really good. He’s just too picky.” Then I watched the video and was like “Ugh! Why didn’t they just get him to do it. Amateurs.”
I mean, I can see how a lot of what he listed can be seen as something only a professional would pick on, but the motion blur is frankly unforgiveable. its suppose to be a poster, not a screenshot from the movie. Nevertheless, Benny's is unsurprisingly way better ;)
Benny, you are my Photoshop inspiration. Just by watching your videos it tells me to move on and make many more Photoshop edits. Thank you for making this channel!
The real photo feels more “professional”, as like you said, they had more assets and better reference materials, but yours overall looks better, with it doing more with less and all
Nope, they earn from 50 000 all the way to the 200 000 dollars for couple of advertising posters. This dude can't even comprehend what is initial goal of ad campaign and how it affects audience. Not to mention that there is 20 companies making these posters and competing with each other, and the best one is chosen by advertising agency that invest millions in learning all about market and audience. Not to bash anyone's work, that is not my goal. His poster is good but it is just a copy of something that is made from scratch by hand.
@The FGR Original poster is made from scratch by the team of experts, he used that poster and literally make exactly the same copy, he didn't make original version from scratch he copied someone else work. And if he was that good he would work in advertising agency making 500 000$ per year and not making click bait videos on UA-cam to lure dumb people into believing he is better than advertising agency that makes millions 😂 You are toxic hater. agency that makes those kids of advertising posters makes millions, and here you are on UA-cam hating on them and saying how you know better than experts that literally know everything about that job and how to attract audience? 😂
@The FGR how can you say that if he made the poster he would have made it 100 times better.... Here in this video he has corrected the poster that's it. He didn't create another poster
I wouldn't be surprised if the official poster was a last min thing and that it was a response to all the leaks. That and when Sony and Marvel's involve. The amount of approval the marketing must go through must've been a nightmare.
Yeah, seems like this poster option was one of many that finally got approved for release, and they didn't probably have time to or wanted to prep it for release - this is like a draft version of the final one - and I think Benny finalised it for them :D
Your poster dedinately improves the design by making everything look like it belongs together. My only critique is that you’ve slightly gone overboard with the shadows with spidy This means he starts to fade into the background a little too much rather then be front and centre with the pop of saturation the original poster gives him. Like, my eyes focus more on his legs (where the contrast os highest) rather then his head & chest which is where my eyes focus on the OG poster (likely because of the colour contrast of red againt the blue bc plus the bright highlight next to his shoulder) The tenticle framing is slightly better in the og image too (creating a box through the claw hands making right angles along with the lightning, and the rubble forming a fairly straight line) - but thats more minor & more the result of you not having access to the og images With that in mind though, you did do a great job with this render. It definatrly feels more coherent so kudos to you!
Both versions are similar enough that what I think it really comes down to is that you are creating without any constraints. In real life, the poster design has to go through multiple approvals. For example, they may have told them they had to add motion blur so they did. You didn't because no one is paying you and telling you what to do. You may think the lighting on the goblin is not as realistic as it could be, but the goal of the poster may have been to make the goblin harder to see at first and blend more into the lightning and sky to be more of a surprise to find after scanning the poster. The tentacles and spider-man are the first things you see on purpose as these were revealed and marketed first. Then your eye sees the lightning and sand and the Green Goblin. There is an experience in finding these things similar to how the studio is letting fans find small clues about the movie over the months to attract more hype. In your version, there is no movement of the eye that allows you to discover things in any particular order---your lightning is actually the brightest and most noticeable thing in the poster but has less reason to be noticed most. There are many factors that aim to achieve a specific experience rather than purely a more realistic render. Design is more than how realistic you can make it look. There's a lot more going on in the original poster than I think you give it credit.
This looks awsome to be exact! When you finished redesigning the poster and comparing it with the original poster, there’s just a big diffrence when you compare them! Benny’s looks alot better than the original poster! I just see that shading and lighting is diffrent in a way. But you took two hours to make this! I say you give yourself a pat on the back for this masterpiece!
I'll explain the possible reasons, agree or disagree with them... I don't mind... chill👍 - Maybe Marvel tried to make the older Spiderman's posters style, like the second movie with Octopus (for all the saturation and colors). Almost like a tribute. - The motion blur is obvious, those are moving, if the obturation speed of the "camera" was a little slow well... there you go. And the attention goes to Spiderman because of that blur. - I didn't see any orange lights in yours like in the original, even though you have sparks coming from an evidently fire nearby. It motivates the orange lights. - I don't know what did Marvel do, but I can easily draw those rays with my tablet in Photoshop (even a mouse). They are quite easy to do, maybe they aren't overlays. Anyway I like a lot more the shape that you did there. You made the rays go down until the big light in the back, It looks way better and connected this way! - The lighting on the debris is more photorealistic in your poster (if we look the lighting on Spiderman). But remember this is a poster, this is art. There is no need of beeing photorealistic in every detail if you want. - The debris on the original poster does not attract attention because of it's darkness. The only and clear protagonist is Spiderman. I like your poster the most, because I like that style of colours too, and the way you connected the rays! I just put these coherent and possible reasons because the people and you are calling it "shit" and I think it is not shit, but just a different concept direction. Also I do not know whom did it but I feel sorry for him/her and his work when the people call it "shit" hahah PD: They are also people who have to follow orders from a superior when making designs. Not everything is up to them. I hope nobody gets angry, I just wanted to put another point of view but i'm not a native English speaker. I love your designs Benny, greetings!

OK guys. I can’t know for sure what’s going on but this looks to me like director interference over an artist. As a director And an artist I’m pretty sure that the instructions were to make the colors on Spiderman pop like the American flag and the motion blur on the arms to give it more of an action feel. Sometimes professionals have to do things that they know won’t look as good because they are simply told to. Either way be nice to the Marvel poster artist. No matter who you are and what experience level you have you’re still a human being with feelings. And on top of that Benny, you’re the freaking UA-cam god of photo shop artists! Of course he’s not gonna be as good as you!
Agreed, or even focus group testing. I think people are underestimating the level of attention studios dedicate to poster design. The goal isn't beautiful art I'm afraid, it's selling tickets. And even if those aren't mutually exclusive, correlation does not imply causation.
Even though this redesign is exceptional, the original poster fits way better to the Marvel and Spiderman Homecoming environment. We need these vibrant colors to attract people's eyes on the character and the composition. It's no way for a Spiderman (since Homecoming) movie poster to be so dark. Marvel movies posters are very deep and need some recognition on how we should interpret the story just by looking at it.
i seriously dont understand why you havent had the chance to work on a poster for a high budget film at this point. you've proved you have the skills time and time again, and you just keep improving as time goes on. seriously marvel, disney, yall need to hire this man!!
The design is so much better, except in the most crucial area of brand promotion. Spider man himself has this blue tint over him - making him blend in more with the rest of the image. On MARVEL's poster hs is brightly red, popping really well from the image - so that a viewer can instantly recognize him straight away. If you bring that little touch back, I would call it perfect in both ways. Design & Marketing :)
I agree completely and think there is one sub element that needs to be there too, the contrast on the eyes and clean look of the white and black is hampered. excellent job for the most part
I loved your work, it was very beautiful, but I think that the choice of the most vibrant colors in the original poster is deliberate, due to the personality of Tom Holland's Spider Man. You basically did a darker style, Zack Snyder style.
Using vibrant colors was not just a choice of getting the same atmosphere of Tom Holland's Spider-Man, but also a marketing one. When people go to theater they'll see the red from far on the poster and immediately associate with the character/hero. Benny making a Zack Snyder's version is not a smart choice at all, even though the compositing is more realistic and beautiful than the original one.
I think the point of the motion blur was to make the arms seem more alive. In your poster, they kinda seem dead, like an arm sticking out a grave but with the motion in the original poster, it shows movement and that means, its alive. Great work anyway
what they did in the original poster is that they highlighted the spider man by making almost everything blurry other than spider-man itself, so your eyes and focus directly goes to spider-man itself not the other objects around it
@@moHomefront yeah I know what the point of focusing is...I create graphics myself, but for the poster there is so much stuff to grab you don't want the focus to only be on Spider-Man...you want people to grasp everything at the same thing because that makes it more eye catching.
I mean, it does look really good, I'm not gonna say that it isn't. But there's SO much more to making a good poster than just lighting and grading...the composition for example is pretty watertight, and having to improve upon that from scratch would be a monumental task to say the least.
Even me, a guy who doesn't even do Photoshop was so frustrated of what shit quality of lighting that poster had, I was really wondering why no artists were actually pointing it out lol
Not gonna lie. At the start I thought you were gonna make the thing way too dark but the final product was way better than I anticipated. You always blow me away.
How it basically went at the studios: Sir, I finished a sketch of the poster you wanted. Alright, let me get it published. But sir, it’s just a… Done, good job man!
Hey Benny, I have a fun idea. Gather up with like a couple of other good Photo Shoppers and then one person starts the photo, one does in-between, then the other one finishes the photo.. or you guys can keep taking turns back and forth or figure out something better or more creative but I think it would be so cool to see 3 good artists mashed into ONE edit!!! What do you think??
For me whats really bothering is thefact that they edited the lightening INFRONT of thegreen goblin. Which makes it look like it is inbetween the goblin and spiderman and it looks so weird. (Check 1:35 for reference)
While I do think the tentacles look better in your version, I have to say that they also look entirely stationary. While ill conceived, the motion blur was almost certainly meant to convey the fast motion of the claws lunging toward Spider-Man. Your tentacles, while more aesthetically pleasing, look slightly silly as if they are just posed there, "ready for their closeup." Is there a nicer looking way to convey their extreme speed in a still image?
when have you ever seen an action poster with motion blur. thats the point. its a freeze frame on the action. in those time stopped/slowed down sequences in action/hero films, do the bullets and fast objects have blur? no. Motion blur on a freeze frame makes it look like it was shot on a really shit camera. If you want to make it look like the claws are in motion do impact effects or make dust in the wind flow a certain way to imply movement. motion blur on a poster is just nasty and i hope it never catches on.
Why would we need to convey speed in a still image if it's not gonna even be a scene in the movie Its supposed to be flashy I guess but it still looks blurry and low resolution
actually the reason why sony put the motion blur was to decieve the audience so that it looks like it is from the movie Simple But Benny doesnt know and starts talking trash Kinda dumb
Benny, you're awesome. Then at the Studio, Art Director would say: You did a great job, I'd like to make a few notes. 😂 Notes: Tone and manner; It needs to be saturated, need more warm colours. Please blur the tentacles so the focus goes to Spiderman and hints at fast-moving action. Rubbles have to be more simple. it's distracting the eyes from Spiderman. The Goblin body should be facing Spiderman, he is surrounded by the enemies. Spiderman left leg and the Tentacle finger need more negative space. The sand looks like a Stardust, it has to be more sandy. The Tentacle needs rim light from an explosion and it also separates the foreground (warm colour) + Spiderman and the background (cool colour) You did the same thing but the opposite. The focus goes to the lighting and the bright background and Spiderman is in the shadow. (Squint your eyes and check) Again, the Focus is Spiderman and he needs to be more visible, the background should be dark with cool colour and the foreground bright with warm colour. I love what you've done with the lighting. Please don't change the colour of the title. Done by an hour? Thanks, Benny. Thus the Poster...

@FireJach I don't think he realizes that the studio deliberately made the poster look dumb, it's just to confuse fans, you know, keep them guessing what might be what might not be in the movie, of course the official poster looks shit, I'm mean, it's not like they were going for a great poster and it somehow turned out to be crap and they just went with it, the studio obviously knows its shit, I mean you cannot expect in a million years from a big studio to not pay attention to each and every detail and that too when the movie coming out is the most hyped movie of the year, I love benny, been his fan since a long time, he obviously did a great job, but you can't tell me that the studio that has millions of dollars of marketing budget for a single project wouldn't pay attention to a poster, unless they want to make it seem like a bunch of screenshots from the movie just taped together, why, just to keep us guessing
Ahahah this is exactly what an creative director would say down to the last line of keep the logo colors intact...ow work in the post production in my country although it's more food related works and this is exactly the type of direction I see, bring the reds more, it needs to pop, it looks too flat, the focus is this not that....
What I really like about your edit is that your lighting not only creates more interest, but you also made the title pop more. Which for a movie poster you really need to title to pop. Great work!
i burst out when u said "testicles" instead of "tenticles" 😂. As always loved you concept and idea of making things look more amazing and realistic. Hey Marvel! if u are seeing this, hire him man.
Benny's redesign is really marvelous considering that it implemented some dark elements like how DC did to their films. However, for the movie's theme, the original poster is more viable IMO. First of all, Jon Watt's cinematic visuals are actually more vibrant compared to the old Spiderman films. And, it is expected that IT SHOULD be vibrant as it stays true to the Film's color grading. Lastly, a vibrant poster can attract a mass audience in design theory and marketing-wise. BOTTOMLINE: Is Benny's redesign actually well-thought-of in terms of choice of color, proportion, unity, and other details? YES But, does it stay true to Jon Watt's visuals, and MORE effective market-wise? I would say No.
The immediate reaction when comparing them is that the original looks like a marvel poster while yours doesn't. Thats because of the saturation and contrast. The second thing I noticed was spidey's pose. In the original poster it makes sense that he's balancing on top of some rubble, because it looks like it's high up in the air. In yours he actually looks more detached from the ground and balancing in the middle of a big layer of rubble, which doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I will say that your poster looks fuller in the center (around Spider-Man) than the original, which is good. I like the halo/volumetric light from the back besides just the silhouette light. Your lightning is also stronger than the original. Not sure how I feel about the tentacles. Some motion blur would do them good, making it more of an action scene rather than a posed one.The goblin is a nice way to fill the emptiness on the right. The original poster looks more appropriate because its better recognizable as a Marvel movie even if it's not as quality, and volumetric lighting in your poster is more dramatic, which might not be the style they wanted to promote for the movie, since Spider-Man movies tend to be more light hearted. The biggest turn off for your work is probably the colors, since its more of a Man of Steel look than Spider-Man. So, if you got the colors and contrast right, removed some of the rubble on the sides (so it look like spidey is higher up in the pile), added a tad of motion blur to the tentacles and reduced the volumetric lighting, I'd take your poster over theirs any day. But anyhow, it's clear you've put in a lot of work and you know your shit, so good work.
overall pretty good, but I just wish you didn't take away so much of the saturation from spider man, because then it takes the focus from spider man. I know the original composition is still pretty good to put focus on spider man, also read is already a strong color in itself. but when everything is low saturated it becomes blended with everything else. Still over all pretty awesome upgrade. 👌

Good point
It's an interesting way of approaching colour but it's feels to me like a needless way of handicapping creativity. If a character is in a dark scene then I expect the character to be lit differently and naturally i'd expect to see different colours. Also it ruins realism imo. Maybe in comics bright recognizable colours work, but when a cgi character is lit, and the colours are too vibrant it feels off.
I definitely agree with this argument. I remember when I was in training of design, the first thing my mentor told us is, "design is not up to your preferences/liking. it's about how do you want to deliver the message and it definitely up to the client (by request)". and I think, in this case, the client is the upper man in Marvel, and the message they want to deliver is "to make the hero pop up more". maybe that's why the artist still go by that rule because it's the "request" from their client. of course I like the re-make version more, but yea your argument is valid and has a point, at least for me.
i think that's more true for comic books than it is here tbh, but I do think that his version of the poster makes Spider-Man too blue
I think you're right, but it's not about color here anymore tbh, there's so much mistake that's crazy

My only critique is that you’ve slightly gone overboard with the shadows with spidy
This means he starts to fade into the background a little too much rather then be front and centre with the pop of saturation the original poster gives him. Like, my eyes focus more on his legs (where the contrast os highest) rather then his head & chest which is where my eyes focus on the OG poster (likely because of the colour contrast of red againt the blue bc plus the bright highlight next to his shoulder)
The tenticle framing is slightly better in the og image too (creating a box through the claw hands making right angles along with the lightning, and the rubble forming a fairly straight line) - but thats more minor & more the result of you not having access to the og images
With that in mind though, you did do a great job with this render. It definatrly feels more coherent so kudos to you!
Marvel: Hey Benny, lets talk about the next No Way Home poster...
Benny: "THERE YOU GO!!!"
There's always room for advancements/improvement in the eyes of Benny, love it🔥🔥
Both versions are similar enough that what I think it really comes down to is that you are creating without any constraints.
IKR, I personally think it was nothing more than a marketing stunt

This looks awsome to be exact! When you finished redesigning the poster and comparing it with the original poster, there’s just a big diffrence when you compare them! Benny’s looks alot better than the original poster! I just see that shading and lighting is diffrent in a way. But you took two hours to make this! I say you give yourself a pat on the back for this masterpiece!
I'll explain the possible reasons, agree or disagree with them... I don't mind... chill👍
- Maybe Marvel tried to make the older Spiderman's posters style, like the second movie with Octopus (for all the saturation and colors).
I just put these coherent and possible reasons
because the people and you are calling it "shit" and I think it is not shit, but just a different concept direction. Also I do not know whom did it but I feel sorry for him/her and his work when the people call it "shit" hahah

The point is that there is always room for improvement, and it is always never too late to look at your work and add things that could make it better.
i seriously dont understand why you havent had the chance to work on a poster for a high budget film at this point. you've proved you have the skills time and time again, and you just keep improving as time goes on. seriously marvel, disney, yall need to hire this man!!
Without actually changing too much you've changed so much. It's crazy how the attention to lighting has helped transform it.
Actual spiderman style...
Benny's poster still looks better, even if it would be saturated up. I agree with the points he made for the video on why it looks sloppy

@@jasper5394 the vibrant made it look more fake...
what they did in the original poster is that they highlighted the spider man by making almost everything blurry other than spider-man itself, so your eyes and focus directly goes to spider-man itself not the other objects around it

@@lightskingoat2365 i mean we haven’t seen the movie but looking at the trailer, you’re right.
Even me, a guy who doesn't even do Photoshop was so frustrated of what shit quality of lighting that poster had, I was really wondering why no artists were actually pointing it out lol
'So is it going to be hard to create a good poster?'
'Yes, it's going to be super hard, extremely an inconvenience'
I understand thet reference lmao
Oh, really?!?
Making a poster and having someone redo it to show how mediocre some professionals are is TIGHT!
WOW i am the person who edited this poster .But you did it even better than me good luck
Not gonna lie. At the start I thought you were gonna make the thing way too dark but the final product was way better than I anticipated. You always blow me away.
How it basically went at the studios:
Sir, I finished a sketch of the poster you wanted.
Alright, let me get it published.
But sir, it’s just a…
Done, good job man!
No
they need to hire benny asap.
AMAZING!!!!
For me whats really bothering is thefact that they edited the lightening INFRONT of thegreen goblin. Which makes it look like it is inbetween the goblin and spiderman and it looks so weird. (Check 1:35 for reference)
maybe because its electro lightning not from cloud??
While I do think the tentacles look better in your version, I have to say that they also look entirely stationary. While ill conceived, the motion blur was almost certainly meant to convey the fast motion of the claws lunging toward Spider-Man. Your tentacles, while more aesthetically pleasing, look slightly silly as if they are just posed there, "ready for their closeup." Is there a nicer looking way to convey their extreme speed in a still image?
bro its a poster, thats how its supposed to be. the motion blur is kinda to much in the original that it looks like a screenshot
when have you ever seen an action poster with motion blur. thats the point. its a freeze frame on the action. in those time stopped/slowed down sequences in action/hero films, do the bullets and fast objects have blur? no. Motion blur on a freeze frame makes it look like it was shot on a really shit camera.
If you want to make it look like the claws are in motion do impact effects or make dust in the wind flow a certain way to imply movement. motion blur on a poster is just nasty and i hope it never catches on.
Why would we need to convey speed in a still image if it's not gonna even be a scene in the movie
Its supposed to be flashy I guess but it still looks blurry and low resolution
@@heyitsvikingz What about the Good Time poster
actually the reason why sony put the motion blur was to decieve the audience so that it looks like it is from the movie Simple But Benny doesnt know and starts talking trash Kinda dumb
Imagine Marvel actually hires Benny after this
Nice. It really makes you notice all things that could better. Keep it up!
MCU should hire A PROFESSIONAL LIKE BENNY!!
Marvel Emplyee : This is the best poster for spider man
Benny: Hold my coffee
@ofi I don't think he could make a poster when hes drunk
@@cpikuski2924 if he was the poster would be fucked up
Benny, you're awesome.
Then at the Studio, Art Director would say:
You did a great job, I'd like to make a few notes. 😂
Notes:
Tone and manner; It needs to be saturated, need more warm colours.
Everybody in the comments shitting on Marvel for an amateur poster for the movie, you people don't follow marvel for sure, these posters released in the past couple weeks are intentionally made to look like an amateur did them because they want to protect the posters from giving away any plot details, the amateur look is given to make it seem like it's a screenshot from the movie, that's why motion blurr is added to make it seem like it's directly from the movie which obviously it's not, why would they do such shitty job if not for that, use your brain, they are a billion dollar company, if they wanted they could make it look like what benny just did, only a million times better, benny did a great job anyways 😊😊😊😊😉👍👍👍👍
@@kidobob6881 He made it more beautiful but he lost the key :P
@FireJach I don't think he realizes that the studio deliberately made the poster look dumb, it's just to confuse fans, you know, keep them guessing what might be what might not be in the movie, of course the official poster looks shit, I'm mean, it's not like they were going for a great poster and it somehow turned out to be crap and they just went with it, the studio obviously knows its shit, I mean you cannot expect in a million years from a big studio to not pay attention to each and every detail and that too when the movie coming out is the most hyped movie of the year,
I love benny, been his fan since a long time, he obviously did a great job, but you can't tell me that the studio that has millions of dollars of marketing budget for a single project wouldn't pay attention to a poster, unless they want to make it seem like a bunch of screenshots from the movie just taped together, why, just to keep us guessing
Ahahah this is exactly what an creative director would say down to the last line of keep the logo colors intact...ow work in the post production in my country although it's more food related works and this is exactly the type of direction I see, bring the reds more, it needs to pop, it looks too flat, the focus is this not that....
The motion blur on the tentacles hurt my eyes
I actually like the motion blur in the original a lot. I think it makes it more compelling and dynamic.

YES
But, does it stay true to Jon Watt's visuals, and MORE effective market-wise?
The real professional can make a well looking thing with limited materials. Outstanding job!
Wow
The lighting on the original really bothers me, glad Benny had the same thought!
Benny probably should be hired at Marvel, dont just Marvel but Hollywood poster maker or what it is named.
"The testicle- I mean- tentacles.." Benny Productions, November 10, 2021 - LOL -
It looks so much better imagine what it would look like if he had the Marvel+Disney editor budget for POSTER
overall pretty good, but I just wish you didn't take away so much of the saturation from spider man, because then it takes the focus from spider man. I know the original composition is still pretty good to put focus on spider man, also read is already a strong color in itself. but when everything is low saturated it becomes blended with everything else. Still over all pretty awesome upgrade. 👌
Benny you should speak to marvel and make epic movie posters for them
