I can see that you take part in an important place in the supply chain of the recycling industry in all economies of scope. Great job you're doing there sir.
One thing about processing ballast is the smell. You'll never forget it, we sometimes joke about was it worth it. Im Happy to see your wearing a respirator.
Having a table or a funnel shaped Shute under your big shears for rubbish to fall into, but overall that gizmo is bloody terrific. Yeh the big mess is the only short fall, but saves a lot of time and effort. Thanks mate, I have only just found your channel, and found this video rather interesting, well done.
The stuff of my dreams....goodies!!! (Definitely a woman who is easily pleased😂) The mini bits of brass in the green ones was a touch👌👍 Great job, love watching it pile up!
I truly hope society will realize soon enough that this line of work needs to be made accessible to as many people as possible, I understand the need of some regulation to avoid ecological disasters like chemicals seeping into the water supply or nasty chemical fires, still, scrapping is one of the most eco friendly jobs I can think of, more so when the items are destined to the landfill, so I truly hope governments will realize that this is capitalism at its finest, people finding way to make money out of recycling.
But then many cities make it illegal to go dumpster diving or picking off the curb. Some stuff you'll find still works and doesn't have to be scrapped, but the stupid city says no, it has to be destroyed and taken to a landfill. That law doesn't stop me though
Very very cool content …😎 jeez if i where 25 again i would get into this… keep uploading content like this and your channel will be a huge success…. Have u done videos on how you source your scrap metal.
I am retired Firefighter/Paramedic. Remember most of that design to be held horizontal mostly. I do like what you are doing with it. Tough stuff we got paid to break stuff.
We got that stupid storm on Friday. I was in middle of my trash pickup and I got completely soaked. Working when you are drenched is no fun at all. I even hated it when I was in the Marines
All the transformers I get have been removed and replaced by an electrical contractor that does lighting maintenance. 99% of them are already burned up
Check out tnt rescue tools. More modern rescue shear made in usa and it moves WAY faster than that hurst cutter. But itll set you back quite a bit of money. Might be worth it to you i dunno. I used to help sell them so full disclosure but man, they are some good tools.
Excellente vidéo ... le jour où le recyclage sera autant mis en valeur en France... ceci-dit ça serait tellement plus simple d'avoir un bouton au pied pour la presse ...
Yes... but you still have shop (bought or leased), equipment, utilties, taxes, labor, etc. Also takes a lot of time to get your name out there so ppl know who to call to sell their scrap to or have you come pick it up. I'm sure you're still doing well though and very cool to watch the videos.... Hey that's a thought... A video on the business side of scrapping. :-)
Thank you I am always looking for good help. lol I have a ball everyday I don't have to have to go to a 9-5. lol Thanks for watching. sorry for the late response
I had one on the 2nd press when it was air over hydraulic. It does help. I have been looking for 110v foot pedal for the pump I have now. Thanks for the suggestion and thanks for watching
When I was salvaging I tried o save everything but the steel an cast iron Aluminum peace’s at a rate of three loads at day of cast and steel beams and one Amazing load of long cut aluminum peace’s clean so that was a day 1278$ did that for two months at a Development area I was able to be allowed and given a area to work in just a five guy were allowed it was for just 4 months or when the clearing was done it was cool it whined up taking 6 months due to rain . Just thought I’d share that with you.
Another awesome video! One question: do you ever do the math to see how much money you're earning by breaking down the transformers, in stead of selling them whole? I trust that you know how to maximise your profit, but I'm just curious
Damn I wish when I took my last load of extruded it was 0.98$ … I had 720 pounds of it and got paid .60 a pound…. They gave me dirty because it had screws in it. Couldn’t imagine there was even a pound of screws in the whole load but whatever. I came back the next day with another 150 pounds cleaned
It is good to finally see somebody on UA-cam where personal protection equipment mask respirator gloves and no damn flip-flops I watch these idiots on here bring their kids around with all this stuff and debris not realizing later on your lungs are going to be s***
thanks, I am from South Florida so there might be some flip-flops here and there. Lol but not when I’m messing with those heavy lights or those transformers.
An opportunity missed is an opportunity lost. There simply has to be $$$$$thousand$$$ to be had in smelting a raw product from the huge pile you are dealing with. How that works is beyond my knowledge too tho!
You can't make $1,000 a day scrapping you can't even make $100 a day scrapping because you spend all day Gathering it together and then having to separate it takes all day then when you take it in you might average out $100 a day you might get lucky to make $200 a day for a couple of days but you aren't going to make $200 every day and you aren't going to make $1,000 a day you would have to be a scrap yard
You should watch my playlist making money scrapping. lol Most people are not setup like me and don't have the contacts I have and NO ONE has a transformer press like mine that can make $900 per hour. FYI sometimes I buy scrap from scrap yards. lol Thanks for watching.

I officially love this channel, good job man.
Thank you.

Thanks, I'm working on the mess issue. lol
I'm always amazed at the sheer quantity of scrap you manage acquire.👍
Thanks
I'm always looking forward to your videos, but I didn't get the notification for this one, just found it while scrolling!!! Great video
Thanks, I had a issue with the up load. I try and put out at least 1 video a week.

Thanks I doing my part 1 Lb of copper at a time. lol n
But then many cities make it illegal to go dumpster diving or picking off the curb. Some stuff you'll find still works and doesn't have to be scrapped, but the stupid city says no, it has to be destroyed and taken to a landfill. That law doesn't stop me though
Very illuminating!
Thanks
working person is dismantling master!!!!👍
Thanks 👍
Killin it in the scrap game dude
Thanks
Put you a piece of foam under your jaws to keep trash out, you got it going on man. I've got family in Naples Florida, great video.
Thanks for the suggestion and thanks for watching
Very very cool content …😎 jeez if i where 25 again i would get into this… keep uploading content like this and your channel will be a huge success…. Have u done videos on how you source your scrap metal.
Yes and I will be doing some more. Look for my first live stream I talked a lot about that.
All my contacts are electricians. A good source for contacts is the Kelly Blue Book of Contractors. Good luck and thanks for watching.
Cha-Ching. I'm happy with 100-200 a day, for now hahaha. Keep Scrapping!!!
Haha, lets bump those # up.
Where the crap falls into the jaws ram, can you put the jaws sideways so stuff just drops clear?
Yes, I've been doing that lately
I wonder if you have any time available to see how all that recycling material ends? Is it going to be melted for further manufacturing?
I would love to follow it to the end.
Maybe you could rig up a rubber sleeve to coversheet top of the hydrolic piston? To stop the glass getting into the cylinder.
Thanks for the suggestion.
That shot below the press was great! Made me feel like I was gonna get hit by falling steel 😂
Thanks
Really shows the intention of what is being done 👍✅
I am retired Firefighter/Paramedic. Remember most of that design to be held horizontal mostly. I do like what you are doing with it. Tough stuff we got paid to break stuff.
Thanks for the info and thanks for watching
We got that stupid storm on Friday. I was in middle of my trash pickup and I got completely soaked. Working when you are drenched is no fun at all. I even hated it when I was in the Marines
Glade your safe.
That’s a work dog for sure. I think a metal bar near would be better than breaking the glass. Less bits on the shaft. That’s what see said.
Haha, Great idea.
Wish I had as much fun at work as you do
You got the wrong job. lol
Are you able to put like a tote or something under the JAWS to catch some of the debris that falls down instead of having to sweep all of it up?
I will be making something. Thanks for watching.
What a BEAST. Destroying good Transformers for a mere 5$ copper. You can easily sell 1 transformer with 50$/piece to people in the field!
All the transformers I get have been removed and replaced by an electrical contractor that does lighting maintenance. 99% of them are already burned up
Excellent video
Thank you
I think that only works with welded core transformers. Normal EI transformers would not break like that. How do yo handle them ?
I don't get that many I & E transformers, but when I do I use my hammer and sometimes grind the welds. I'v made some videos in it.
Is there any safety shield or something to protect your fingers of the jaws? Stay safe with the storm coming your way
Thank you, I will be careful
Great video
Thanks
i would expect the competition for every pound of scrap would be fierce. how do you manage to get so much ?
It is very competitive so I pay more than others.
Where to get scrap in Michigan any old motor yards? can i even do that do they sell cheap?
I don't know I live in south FL. lol
Make that money!
I am trying
Check out tnt rescue tools. More modern rescue shear made in usa and it moves WAY faster than that hurst cutter. But itll set you back quite a bit of money. Might be worth it to you i dunno. I used to help sell them so full disclosure but man, they are some good tools.
I've seen them and would love to have one. Maybe one day when I'm rich. lol
Excellente vidéo ...
le jour où le recyclage sera autant mis en valeur en France...
ceci-dit ça serait tellement plus simple d'avoir un bouton au pied pour la presse ...
English please
Basically he said that a day of scrapping in France would be worth it. And that you should get a foot pedal for the press.
Yes... but you still have shop (bought or leased), equipment, utilties, taxes, labor, etc. Also takes a lot of time to get your name out there so ppl know who to call to sell their scrap to or have you come pick it up. I'm sure you're still doing well though and very cool to watch the videos.... Hey that's a thought... A video on the business side of scrapping. :-)
I've talked about the biz side on some live streams.
Do they just give this stuff away or do you buy it cheap ?
I pay a competitive local market price for all my scrap. sometimes I pay even more than the scrap yards.
Why is the copper from the transformers #2 and not #1
It's coated with something that contaminates the copper when melted.
How do you keep your shop from getting soaked?
For the most part it stays dry unless its windy. lol
Which country are you doing scrab,
I am in 🍁 Canada GTA.
West Palm Beach FL USA! Thanks for watching.
You're having too much fun with the jaws.
Haha, Thanks for watching
How does one acquire so much scrap?
I pay good money for it. I've made a few videos on it.
Its like pressing your own money😍
Haha, Thanks
I would love to come cast all your soft metal into ingots do you think the cost benefit math would be worth it?
Stay tuned, I will be casting and more soon. Thanks for watching.
Did you ever end uncontacted casting stuff?
Man I would love to help scrap in your yard. I would have a ball
Thank you I am always looking for good help. lol I have a ball everyday I don't have to have to go to a 9-5. lol Thanks for watching. sorry for the late response
What are your total daily operating expenses ?
I broke it down at the end.
foot pedal control will keep your other hand free and speed things up
I had one on the 2nd press when it was air over hydraulic. It does help. I have been looking for 110v foot pedal for the pump I have now. Thanks for the suggestion and thanks for watching
bonjour à tous : France : ou ce stitue cette atelier.....? Dans quel pays....?
English please.
En Angleterre ok....
love it
Thanks

Buy more Mexicans. I’m Texas they’re $35.75 per male right now
Weld a pole on one side to smash the glass
Thanks for the suggestion and thanks for watching.
Post Script: I am referring to the copper which is a precious metal not the steel and aluminium rap
Thanks
I bet his neighbors love him.
They do! They come to me asking for help and info all the time. Thanks for watching.
👍👍👌
👍
did you kick up to Tony Soprano ?
No, just worked hard. Thanks for watching
looks like jaws of life?
Yes it is
Jaws are Cool man
Thanks!
if youre worried about the glass damaging the jaws, then just smash the glass with a hammer before u put it into the jaws to cut the aluminium
I'm gonna remount it so it does not have that problem.
My grandad thought me how to scrape back in the day.
Nice, thanks for sharing.

I think its $1.10 now. They probably through it right in with the clean.
@@ProjectShopFl they did….
I think with us trying to green energy will make recycled metals more valuable
I hope so. lol
1000$ minus 3 employee = ?
labor was included in the $1500 cost of the job.
@@ProjectShopFl very nice. Hard work but nice $

Looks like you could use a small heard of apprentices .
Haha great idea. lol Thanks for watching.
I can see a hydraulic foot pedal in your future! That lever is costing you time.
Thanks for the suggestion

" Making $1000 Per Day " doing industrial business in what appears to be a residential zone.

How many Mexicans do you own
