It's my Mother in Law's last Shabbat with us before she returns to Israel, and not only do we have the pleasure of her company (and cooking!!!), we also have my Brother in Law and his family here with us as well!!! Inthis video I chat with you as we get ready for Shabbat. I show you throughout the day what my Mother in Law is preparing for Shabbat and I do the things I need to get ready. I also chat and give you some updates on Baby Firefly and how I am holding up postpartum. Hope you enjoy the Shabbat prep / Shabbos prep!

I love that your husband is bringing home a bouquet of flowers for your daughter. Girls learn how they deserve to be treated by men from their fathers, and she is learning that she deserves to be cherished 🥰.

I was going to leave this same comment, I believe it's very true. If girls are treated well by their fathers, then in the future they will usually choose a mate who will treat them well. Same goes for if a girl is treated poorly by her father she will often {unintentionally subconsciously} choose a mate who will treat her poorly.

You know what Chana? I was thinking if I had my Aunt Doreen and Uncle Gary experience a typical Shabbat meal, the both of them would be quite blown away, if they heard me sing the prayer for the lighting of the Shabbat meal. One of my good friends is a Messianic Jewish lady, and I’d be asking her, if she’d be willing to have my Aunt and Uncle, experience a typical Shabbat meal.

Thank you for sharing real life with us. Even though it’s been years ago, I so remember that feeling of appreciating having extended family help us out when our daughter was born but also being ready to get our house back to being just us. Through your video, it’s fun to go back to that time again.

I ❤❤❤ that you and your husband wear your baby! I did the same and, you are so right, you can get so much done while wearing them! They're comforted and your hands are free to do stuff. I couldn't have survived. So many people told me that I was "spoiling" the baby and they would be clingy. Never had that problem; as toddlers, they were very independent.

I am so glad baby enjoys baby wearing. Both my kids were anti-baby wrap. My oldest loved her swing and my youngest just wanted to be carried everywhere.

@@jaroffireflies yes, that is still very warm, especially for an infant. We are getting about 11C or about 52 F overnight sometimes a little higher but summer is definitely winding to a close here. We will have a few more hot days but the cooling trend has started.

Daddy getting his girls flowers is the most precious thing! My husband started getting our daughters flowers for valentine's day on their very first one. They are now 19 and 15 and it's been their favorite tradition! So so sweet. Love your videos!

Chana! I love that your mother-in-law has been helping you for the last few weeks. Good support is the difference between swimming and drowning.
As to adventures...Mr Tea and I camped with our eldest kids when one was just shy of three and the other four weeks old, and continued camping with Wee Babbies until our youngest was a baby no longer. It takes a little more effort on the back end, but it's totally doable and still a ton of fun!

Hi Chana! As always, you look amazing and your smile lighting up your face. it seems that Baby Firefly found his special place all wrapped up on you. Those wraps are great. I was never able to properly wear one (not sure why) but I see how amazing they are. Holding Baby and he feels your warmth, and you have your hands free for the other children. The Shabbat food looked yummy and I am sure you had a lovely Shabbat with your family. Loved the flowers, and your husband buying flowers for your daughter is so sweet! also great as Daddy Firefly holding Baby in his holder . loved The Smiles! Well, I think Mr. Firefly has won the 'Sweetest Dad' award! Bringing Sister home her own Shabbat flowers, and having his own dad-carrier for Baby! This video was perfect- All of Mom's cooking was just what I wanted to see! And Mr. FF looks so happy in the kitchen with his mom- so nice to have his family there to help celebrate Baby! It is so awesome that you have so many family members to celebrate with! When I was younger we had huge family gatherings. But so many of that generation are gone, and those of us that are left are spread out so far. Here in Tampa I am lucky to still have my parents (74 and 79 and going strong!), my sister and her husband all in the same city. My niece used to be here but she graduated from college and moved permanently to Charleston, SC. My nephew leaves for college next week, and my sister will become an “empty nester.” My husband is an only child. I know my niece will be back for many visits and big holidays, but things are changing. Then there is my little family of me, my hubby, and our daughter who is 17 and a Junior in high school. I always wanted more children, but I wasn’t blessed to have biological children and it was a miracle we were able to adopt our daughter. I am rambling but I guess I envy what you have a bit. I wouldn’t change what I’ve been lucky enough to been given, but that doesn’t mean that I wouldn’t want a seat at your Shabbat table just once! I’m sorry this comment is everywhere.
