Through watching your videos, I've been able to bring my Hurley to a place I can introduce dogs to him & he know exactly what they need. We started walking with a Boston terrier, super high energy & wiry fast movements. Beats up a bit on his older sib. After Hurley "checked" her chaoticness - she's no longer beating up on her sib & she can walk & play off leash. The Great Dane we walk with needs help - wants to meet all the dogs & as fast as possible. But we're getting there.. Today.. we took on a recently adopted dog - a 6 month old saluki mix from Mx. Sgt. Bosco, theres a terrorist situation down in the pasture. We need you to come out of retirement to defuse the situation! You're the only one who can do it! Bosco: Yo. Dog: I'm sorry sir.
Slim already snarled on approach. Yes he was not protecting . An yes slim did not catch Bosco he missed an he peed knowing he wasn't gonna go for him again haha
I'm also interested. You have the more "refined", selective breeds with generations upon generations of socialization with humans. Then you have the newer breeds with less of that. I'd be interested to know as well, actually.
dog parks are not the pinnacle of socializing, in fact dog parks are a really easy way to make your dog reactive. you dont know how well behaved those dogs are or if they have their vaccines. for those reasons lots of good dog owners wont go. and your puppy wouldnt have been fully vaccinated (i think) so that could have ended really badly for you and your pup
I have a great male boxer mix he is well trained he is a hunting and pulling dog I can't get him to stop being territorial to me and his mother dog I am asking if you could give me some advice about how to handle a very family protective male non-neutered boxer mixed breed dog
What is good is to binge-watch his videos. Each session video has more training and information than just what the title says. I learned things I didn’t know I needed to watch. I had “aha” moments as I thought my girl had one issue then I realized other things were going on. Sorry, this is so long. 🌟
I always wonder if when a dog like slim tries to bite and a dog like Bosco slightly moves away, was it by chance he didn't bite him? Another millimeter and it would've contacted. It seems unlikely that they knew to withhold/move away just barely enough. Mind boggling...
Bosco was a master at knowing how slight he needed to move not to get bit. I think he got nipped once, and he didn't like it. It's like he swore that would never happen again.

Joel got Bosco on his own accord. He imitates no one. Joel knows animals of all kinds. His whole life has been about animals.
Are Bosco and Prince from the same breeder? I love how they are/were!
Do you think if you show Prince this video he might imitate Bosco's finesse?
BOSCO IS SO BEAUTIFUL. IM LOOKIN FOR A RED AMERICAN FEMALE DOBERMAN
How do you train your dogs to tell other dogs to knock it off or remain calm when encountering an aggressive/reactive dog?
you cant train them to correct dogs, it all depends on their confidence.
The most important is YOUR confidence. Binge-watch Joel’s videos, and you will be there in no time. Each video has a lot more information and training than what the title states.

Sgt. Bosco, theres a terrorist situation down in the pasture. We need you to come out of retirement to defuse the situation! You're the only one who can do it!
Bosco: Yo.
Dog: I'm sorry sir.
☝️yasss! 👍
🤣🤣🤣😂😂😊
Bosco was a giga chad
Yeah, now I'm understanding the breed of bosko in comment section
Slim already snarled on approach. Yes he was not protecting . An yes slim did not catch Bosco he missed an he peed knowing he wasn't gonna go for him again haha
Joel, thank you for the good work. Any chance of showing us how training differs with primitive/hard to train dog breeds ?
I'm also interested. You have the more "refined", selective breeds with generations upon generations of socialization with humans. Then you have the newer breeds with less of that. I'd be interested to know as well, actually.
I can’t believe how many people don’t socialize their dogs. First thing I did was take my 8 week old puppy to the dog park.
dog parks are not the pinnacle of socializing, in fact dog parks are a really easy way to make your dog reactive. you dont know how well behaved those dogs are or if they have their vaccines. for those reasons lots of good dog owners wont go. and your puppy wouldnt have been fully vaccinated (i think) so that could have ended really badly for you and your pup
Are there longer videos with Bosco in them?
Never met a dog like that
bosco is in the top 1% tier when it comes to a bluff.
May I ask why you doc your Dobermans’ tails? It’s illegal in the U.K. so I am curious.
Do ever do training for people using your dogs?
I always wonder if when a dog like slim tries to bite and a dog like Bosco slightly moves away, was it by chance he didn't bite him? Another millimeter and it would've contacted. It seems unlikely that they knew to withhold/move away just barely enough. Mind boggling...
Bosco was a master at knowing how slight he needed to move not to get bit. I think he got nipped once, and he didn't like it. It's like he swore that would never happen again.
How can I do this if I'm the owner by myself?
My dog is the same she's a 7 months old GSD.
